Redskins4ever
Portis will be a vital component to the offense but he can't do it alone. He's not Super Man. I expect the play of the offense to improve and for Brunell's level of play to rise with the addition of Portis.
Whiskeypeet
YES!!!! Its "BIG" SUGE. You the man.
SoCalRedskinFan
Your right CP cant do it himself but just by him being in there the other teams D has to honor our run. Which affects the passing game! HAIL
ManleyMann7271
If Brunell cannot be the only thing destroying the offense, how can Portis be all the salvation that this offense requires?
LoudMouth12thMan
He stays healthy, and this is a likely prediction. HTTR!
UltimateSkins
It's going to take more than just Portis and eventually Springs to get us winning. We gotta stop committing so many penalties.
desioreo87
Brunell can't do anything without a running game and who the hell in the league honestly fears ladell. I stil think brunell is not good at all but with portis hopefully he will mask how bad brunell realy is by giving the passing game some life as well Another big thing with portis is that those 3 yard gains by betts turn into 6 yard gains by portis with his quickness and toughness in the running game leaving brunell with more 3rd and short situations which we all kno will help seince he obviously favors the checkdown throws

d0ublestr0ker0ll
But we still have no QB. You'll see him once Portis clears out all those opponent's helmet's covering the people he's supposed to pass to
dsciambi
I think that yes, Mark's game will improve with Portis in. With that said, however, I still don't think we'll see any deep balls this game - look for more dink and dunk all day.
GoSkins28
I hope we see what the coaches keep telling us we'll see with CP in there. That being said, even if we do, let's hope his shoulder holds up to a season's worth of pounding. I get the uneasy feeling that this will be a season-long drama. If it is, they better find a way to live without him off and on.
fuji869
Clinton Portis is a big part of our offense and he played a huge role in the 5 game winning streak to make the playoffs last season!
SantanaClaus89
Portis is going to fix everything... He will draw the safety into the box leaving 1 on 1 coverage downfield... everything is going to click with Clinton back... So long as the O-line can start playing like they did last year... ozskin
Spot on dude. I've heard everything get blamed for the slow start. Brunell, Suanders, Brunell, O-line, Brunell....Brunell. The fact is the offense will be fine when its most important player is fit and ready to go. GO CP!

Pete
It's been said many times before, Pass blocking is far harder the run blocking. It's also been said that our O line has been built to run block. It all begins up front. The return of Portis is big, but it's a team sport. Teams already know how to go after us, stack the box, and defend the underneath passes. Portis, and the entire team have their work cut out for them. budski
I agree with Clinton. "Its not how you start its how you finish" Sure hope he has a big day, its fun watching him run.
FrFan
I'm sure he will bring "the momentum", help us turn things around, but we must also face reality this is not a one man game. :dallasuck
skinsfan.uk
CP will help the passing game but there will be NO EXCUSES after this game, Springs or no Springs. The Texans have a couple of good receivers so they will create match up problems with our porous secondary but I expect us to chalk up the win - and I don't care if it looks good as long as we win baby! XxSpearheadxX
Portis can carry this team on his back.... as long as his shoulder holds up. I feel bad for him though - this was supposed to be the year he finally got some balance on offense to keep Defenses honest. Hopefully B 2 Moss and B 2 Lloyd and B 2 cooley will make the Texans pay this week when they undoubtably stack the box hard against Portis. Portis is definately on a short list of NFL players - at any position - who can carry a team on his shoulders. We are damn lucky to have a guy like him representing DC on the gridiron. Guest sith lord
Sometimes, even after all my experience, I still stand in awe. I'm sorry, but if you look at the last 9 or 10 games, Brunell has not played all that good and Portis was in a lot of those games. I hope to god that I'm proven wrong, but I think Brunell is finished.
