d0ublestr0ker0ll
Where's Din Thomas been? He's been one of my favs since I saw him win a decisive knockout with sweet boxing skills and then call out Mayweather. He said and I quote, "Where's Mayweather at? All these boxers talking ****. You wanna fight? I'm the mother****** to fight!" That was awesome. Anyone else remember that? I'm pretty sure it was from the PPV event where Liddell lost to Rampage. I like Din. He's been around for a while. Florian beat him very quickly on a free UFC back in the fall. Din is good on the ground, but never seen him KO anyone. Chachie
Okay guys- Prediction time. Nog over Sylvia- Dec. Marquardt over Horn- Dec. (tough call but Horn's getting old) Griffin over Tibau- Sub Eastman over Martin- Sub? (Martin can punch but Marvin's too big) Lytle over Bradley (Who cares how) And here's the really tough call for me: Mir over Lesnar- Sub (Geez, Brock is HUGE though.) There you have it: Chachie's rotten predictions. SkinsOrlando- If you want to sig bet on one of these fights, let me know by tomorrow (fight day) at noon. I owe you a chance to nail me or be twice bitten by the Chach.

d0ublestr0ker0ll
Predictions for UFC 81: Rob Yundt vs. Ricardo Almeida: Yundt is an undefeated part-timer that has natural skills and a background in wrestling, he also stepped in on quick notice to replace Alan Belcher. Ricardo hasn't fought MMA since 2004, but he has a decent laundry list of battles he's gone through to an 8-2 record. I think this fight is going to the ground and Almeida subs Yundt in the 2nd. Jeremy Horn vs. Nate Marquardt: What a matchup. Two guys that can cancel each other out anywhere they go. But I think Horn is simply a better striker. He'll be able conjure up too good of a gameplan for Nate. I'll be rooting for Nate, but Horn is just too good. Horn by TKO 3rd round. Frank Mir vs. Brock Lesnar: Surprisingly, I haven't really had to think about this one. I think Brock will put a great effort in, but at the end of the day - it's like an arena football player coming in to play in the NFL. The WWE really got his mic skills on par with the likes of Tito Ortiz. Guy talks a lot of doo-doo. Focused or not, I think Mir may take a couple big shots, but slip out and yank a sub. First round. Tim Sylvia vs. Antonio Nogueria: Gosh, I just have a hunch about favorites winning this whole event. I think that Nog getting his first octagon experience out of the way was huge. The guy seems so aware of his surroundings and in control of every place on the mat. Especially on the ground. This fight gets to the ground, watch out for one of the most amazing transitions to a sub in UFC history. He could really embarass Timmeh on the ground. Tim needs to lure Nog way in and land a few combinations. I think Nog's boxing is too good. Five round fight? I'll go with Nog in round 5 with a sub. StillUnknown
my picks for UFC 81: Tyson Griffin vs. Glison Tiebau (yeah i know i probably spelled it wrong): i don't see how Tibebau beats Griffin. Tyson's strength should be enough to get him a ground and pound finish, or at least a pretty easy decision. Griffin by TKO, 2nd round Ricardo Almeida vs. Rob Yundt: Yundt took this fight on less than a week's notice. Almeida may have some rust from not competing, but he'll shake that off after the first round. Almeida by sub, 2nd round Nate Marquardt vs. Jeremy Horn: pretty even match up. horn should have the edge striking, but Nate is very well rounded. i think nate can get him to the ground and control Horn for a decision victory. If nate could control Lister on the ground, i'm sure he can handle an aging Horn. Marquardt by UD Frank Mir vs. Brock Lesnar: still goin back and forth with this one. Mir looked good at weigh ins, although i think 255 is a bit much for him. Lesnar looked huge at 265, even though he's only 10lbs more than Mir, the size difference is tremendous. i've decided on Brock by tko, in the 1st. obviously Mir has great BJJ for a heavyweight, but brute strength has been shown to be a good defense for some subs (see rampage jackson  ). i see brock getting a takedown and landing something that puts Mir away before he can slap on the sub. Lesnar by TKO, 1st round Timmay vs. Big Nog: Nog looked better than he did against Herring at the weigh-ins, but he looks as though he's carryin some extra weight to deal with Timmay's size. Nog has good technical boxing, but i'm not sure if he can close the distance on Timmay to utilize it. Timmay's takedown D is too good for Nog to just shoot in, he'll have to set his shots up if he takes them. Timmay should be able to keep this standing and use his distance to eek out a decision, even if it is a boring one. i'm really pullin for Nog so i hope he gets it to the ground and submits Timmay, but i don't see it happening. Timmay by UD

Sebowski
my picks for UFC 81: Tyson Griffin vs. Glison Tiebau (yeah i know he probably spelled it wrong): Easiest fight to pick of the night. Griffin is in another class. (and after this fight he'll be in another weight class. He has said he will probably move to welterweight). Griffin almost always goes to the judges, but I think he makes a point of finishing this one. Griffin by TKO, 2nd round Ricardo Almeida vs. Rob Yundt: The UFC must think Almeida still has it. They are smarter than me Almeida by sub, 1st round Nate Marquardt vs. Jeremy Horn: I love Horn, but I think hos days of beating quality opponents are behind him. Nate will get this to the ground where he can control Horn and thats probably where most the fight will take place. Horn is hard to finish. This one could be a snoozer. Marquardt by UD Frank Mir vs. Brock Lesnar: I'm going back and forth on this one as well. Brock is talking a lot of smack (in third person no less). He knows how to play the heel and is doing a good job of it.I think he is a little too confident. If he was training at Militech, Coutre, AKA, Greg Jackson, or any other of the top gyms I would probably pick him. I don't think he is training with anyone as good as Mir. I've always liked Mir as a person and used to thinkhe was a good fighter. From everything I have seen and read Mir looks to be in great shape. He knows how important this fight is for his career (a loss might put him in the announce booth). He is one of the smartest fighters in the game. He knows he has to finish the fight. There is no way he wins a decision. If I was confident in his cardio I would feel safer about this pick, but I still think Mir catches Lesnar with something. Mir by sub in round 2 Timmay vs. Big Nog: Nog has lost to Josh Barnett, Fedor, and Dan Henderson. Thats it. He has avenged the losses to Barnett and Henderson. He has never been finished. That will not start with Timmay. I think Nog will eventually be able to get this fight to the ground where he will choke out the big goof. Nog by submission : Lets start picking these too guys, what do you say? Knockout of the night: Terry Martin over Marvin Eastman (hope they show this one) Submission of the night: Nog Anaconda chocke on Sylvia Fight of the night: to Martin-Eastman edit: changed fight of the night from Griffin-Tibau

d0ublestr0ker0ll
Lesnar is the favorite at the sportsbooks. Wow, that surprises me. If judging books by their covers means anything, Brock surely looks good. I just think he's in over his head against Mir. Lot of questions towards Brock which will be answered soon.
