Larry
Well, if ever there was a group of people who're completely divorced from reality, it's College Football Players. (Hollywood Stars and Senators are also high on the list.)
Novaskin
That move by Williams was pure stupity! God, that makes you laugh a little, but (shaking my head), I can't believe he would blow a shot at pro football money like that! Damn, must be nice to have that talent! BAM! One serious leg injury and this dude is toast, welcome to the real world jack*****!
skinz4evr
NOTICE: All Punks and ignoramuses please meet your escort by the DOOR. That's great. It's nice having "attittude" around here but that was just plain STUPID. And you wonder why the first attribute Joe usually talks about is how smart someone is. Joe Sick
There was also a rumor that he bought a new Lamborghini before the draft. Too bad he's still driving that 95 Lexus! Myself, I'm glad to see the VT bandwagon clearing out. Makes it easier for me to get tickets! I think there is just something about WRs and CBs that makes for the ****iest bunch of guys on the field. Monkart
Jimmy's cell phone rings. Instead of turing it off, Jimmy takes the call from a friend, gets up from the table and proceeds to talk loudly to his friend for a few minutes. After he hung up the phone, he began to text message someone. At that point, Greg Williams stood up and said that he would never allow Williams to play for him and Gibbs had Jimmy escorted out of the building. This story certianly rings true because he was a top 15 pick at the end of the season and fell to the 37th pick in the draft because of his attitude during interviews. I think its funny because anyone who had seen him play at VT knew he was a jerk." Maybe Andyman has some knowledge on this, Andyman????

saskin
It's quite interesting that people choose to believe what they want to hear or read. People see they don't like a person and/or a program. So whatever piece of information, credible or not, comes out and they instantly think it's gospel....amazing.
Peregrine
Wouldnt suprirse me. There are seriously people like this, who think that when their Cell phone rings, they must answer it, no matter where, no matter how, and talk to whoever, completely ignoring anyone else. Would not surprise me in the least.
RskinstillIdie
and once we traded down in the draft so many "please pick Jimmy Williams" threads were posted...Sometimes I have to hold my breath, but I always trust our FO, most of us are speculating die hard fans, these guys get paid money we dream of to make the call. LoudMouth12thMan
I wouldn't doubt the accuracy of that story, but some guys aren't Redskins kind of guys bottom line...he's a Falcon's guy now so hopefully we'll burn him up on the field when we play him and Hall at Fed Ex...Fear The Spear! Love_Them_Dirtbags
If that happened, the Redskins coaches would never tell ESPN about it. They would have rather seen the player dupe another team and play there instead.

So whatever piece of information, credible or not, comes out and they instantly think it's gospel....amazing. That's true in many instances, and could be the case with this story but honestly if someone had posted the same story but said the incident involved Jeff King or Tapp instead....how many people would have believed it? We're talking Jimmy Williams. This fits his MO. That's why it doesn't seem like such a stretch. :2cents:

PleaseBlitz
Anyone that watched VT play this year could tell you that Jimmy Williams is a dumbass, whether this cell phone bit is true or not. Seriously, the man got kicked out a A BOWL GAME for hitting an official. That being said, it really is a shame for some of the VT guys in this draft (and for their whole past season) their accomplishments get totally overshadowed by the knuckleheadedness of MV2 and JW. This will continue until Beamer makes some wholesale changes and even then, it'll take awhile to get this season from being considered "representative" of the VT football program. fpickering
Unfourtantley he and Marcus seemed to be the VT story of the draft, rather then the quality guys we had coming out with great character like Darryl Tapp, Jim Anderson, Jonathon Lewis, Jeff King, Justin Hamilton, Cedric Humes, Will Montgomery and Jason Murphy. A record 9 Hokies get drafted but the focus is on the 2 idiots in JW and MV2 Thanks for making that point. There has been a lot of garbage spewed towards VT on this board. News flash to those throwing stones....pretty much every football team has a small subset of thugs. Why limit your criticism to VT? BTW..... We don't know if this story is true. Hitting an official? Come on, you are totally exaggerating. The official grabbed him from behind and he reacted (albeit poorly) by pulling away. Of course, the assumption was made immediately that he knew that it was an official that grabbed him. Let's assume that he did know it was an official, it is not outside the realm of possiblity that the ref was actually in the wrong by grabbing him. I replayed it over and over again but it was in the corner of the picture and very difficult to see exactly what happened. Regardless of any of this I do agree that Williams is a knucklehead but I wanted to add some clarification to the story.
MuDDSL1DE
I remember a story about this on PFT like a month ago but he refused to name the player. He just said that it was an expected 1st round pick. I guess it was Jimmy.
