In today's Divisional Debacle, the Defense under Greg Manusky in the first half, gave up 207 yards of offense (105 rushing/102 passing) and two touchdowns.  That said, they did manage a single INT on which the Offense actually managed to score a touchdown off of. They allowed 12 of 16 passes to be completed .

In the second half it was 107 yards given up (58 rushing//49 passing) a field goal and a touchdown. They traded their first half pick for a second half sack. However, Dallas completed all five of their pass attempts.

Don't read that thinking "Well it seems like they tightened up some in the 2nd half."  They didn't. They simply had about half the plays in the second half. 30 plays in the First and 18 in the Second.

So far in two Divisional matchups, the Defense has faltered in the Second half. They start out like a house of fire for the first few drives until their opponents gradually make adjustments. This Defensive coaching staff fails make any adjustments, whether in game or at the very least at Halftime. They've given up over 30 points per game for a total of 63 points given up in two games. While the Bears are up next, the Pats await and they've put up over 70 points in two games. Yeah. Ok. They did shut out the Dolphins today which is looking like the NFL version of ... ahem... shooting fish in a barrel.

The frustrating thing is Manusky is the DC that the Front Office actively looked to replace during the off season without firing him. When you know they're looking to replace you, most people would make a concentrated effort to show an improvement. Yet Manusky's Defense still keeps acting like it's starring in Groundhog Day.

In his post game presser, when asked directly about if any coaching changes would be made, Gruden said "No, I think after two games – you’re talking about playing two very good offensive football teams and two of the best offensive lines in pro football we just played back-to-back. That’s no excuse whatsoever, but I don’t think we need to hit the panic button yet. We just have to continue to focus on what we can do better to win. Get Jonathan [Allen] in here, get a couple of our corners back in here and let’s go back and strap it up against Chicago [Bears] next week and see what happens.”

Here's another frustrating thing. The defensive communication was an issue last season as well. Wasn't this supposed to have been worked on during OTA's and Training Camp? It's understandable that the rookies would still be on a learning curve, but NFL vets like Collins and DRC you'd think they would have down by the start of the season.

Gruden said they're a very talented group on Defense but that they weren't reaching them. When questioned as to why the coaching staff that has been in place for several years, wasn't reaching them, he defended the comment as them being a young defense. “We have some moving parts now. Landon Collins is a veteran guy but this is his first year, [Montez] Sweat’s in his first year, [Cole] Holcomb, it’s his first year, [Jon] Bostic is in his first year. We’re playing Dominique [Rodgers-Cromartie] at corner and this is Jimmy Moreland’s first year, so it’s not like we are the most experienced group. We feel like were very talented, but we`re still fighting through somethings. There are a lot of things to look forward to, without a doubt, but we do have to play better and strap it up and get back to work."

Nothing like walking into the barber right when they open, walk in thinking hell yea first in first out..... And there are already 6 people waiting.

I hate that ****.  I don't go to a barber anymore, haven't for years.  But I just walk-in at one of the chain places in strip malls/grocery stores.  You get there, and there's a line, every time you go, regardless of the time.

I remember I got up one Saturday, snow and ice everywhere.  I fired up the 4 wheel drive and headed out to the grocery store and to get a haircut if they were open.   They were open and there was a ****ing line, 5 other guys with the same idea as mine lol.

Slowly starting to lose respect for people in the name change thread. Shame, really

There are some really silly arguments being made.

Never thought people would have this level of attachment to a team name.

Im pretty much in favor of it being changed at this point. It will suck a little because it means that people in the UnWise Mike category will get their way, but considering the entire ppremise of "honoring them" (which is dumb anyway) and the fact that there are also assholes defending it, I feel that they deserve to feel the pain of losing it, especially the anti pc crowd.

Maybe its because I cheer for a team named the Heat... maybe not. But I find it incredibly silly that people would probably sacrifice their own children over a name.... just a name.

Well, since we aren't in the name change thread...

I have zero cares whether the name offends anyone. I like it, I like the colors, I like the history of the team. I want to keep it for purely selfish reasons.

100% agree.  Never understood that the term is specially used to refer to a football team and nothing else.

I had posted I don't know what I would do the other day in that thread.  But that's more of a irrational response based on emotion.  My families roots started in the DMV (dad's side of the family).  Family members with season tickets at RFK, etc.  At the end of the day, we pull for the franchise and players on the field.

Bottom line, I want the name to stay the same, I want Snyder to not budge on his stance of not changing it.  With that said, it's out of my control and anyone's for that matter on what happens and it's not the end of the world.

They can call them the Washington Warriors/Senators/****heads for all I care, I'll still wear my Redskins gear, refer to them as the Redskins and cheer for them on game day.  Other friends of mine have tried to get me to join the dark side and pull for the Panthers.  I just can't see me pulling for another franchise exclusively, wearing another teams colors, etc.  It doesn't feel right.

The only way I'd not pull for them is if the franchise got relocated to another city, which will never happen.

If they do get forced to change the name, if I were Snyder, I'd have them wear throwbacks with the current logo on it for the entire season.

So, I saw a midget in the lobby of my apartment with huge lady parts.

Kinda threw me for a loop.

You guys need to post more so the thread can get off of this page :)

Last I remember hearing you can only wear throwbacks twice a year.

That's OK. The Redskins only really show up for games twice a season anyway.

Least if we suck ass this year we get a top 5er. Add to that any potential deals with teams that want to move up. Then fire Has and bring on Wade Phillips. Use your first 2 picks om the best olineman available unless there is some transcendant type player at bpa.

Eh, who am I kidding, thet makes WAY too much sense for this organization.

And lol at this pazt draft. Your best pick may end up being a guy you took in the 4th round.

Murphys doughy ass hasnt done jack. No explosiveness whatsoever

Couldn't they still wear them and pay the fines.  Danny is loaded, I'm sure he could find some loop hole to pay the player uniform fines if he wanted to for a few games.

Till that QB we draft says he doesn't want to play for an organization with a racist name.

Just heard that Robbie Griffin #3 is back in cleats. I bet that guy is back in 2 weeks and we'll be praying that he doesn't get injured again.

Too bad he has no choice if he's actually drafted.  We own his rights.  He doesn't want to sign, good ****ing riddance, have fun making $25 million at a real job.

Drafting a QB this year is a headscratcher. What you do is solidify both lines, and give your QB one final year to prove himself. They'll more than likely take up the fifth year option on his contract. Find a non project RT and 2 guards. Unless theres a safety on our radar that isnt a bum or a non tackling pussie, thats what I'd do

This seems like the most logical approach. Too bad we will probably end up doing something crazy instead like taking the Jimmy Winston guy.
