  1. I know you are busy, but can you please provide some sort of analysis regarding this week's match up between the Football Team formerly known as the Washington Football Team and the New York Giants?
  2. I would like to revise my prediction from a few days back. Much has changed since then. (1) If the redskins contain Daniel Jones, and can run the ball effectively --- 31 - 0 redskins. (2) If the redskins contain Daniel Jones and cannot run the ball effectively-- 10-0 redskins. (3) if the redskins cannot contain Daniel Jones, but can run the ball effectively-- 17- 5 redskins (4) if the redskins cannot contain Daniel Jones, and cannot run the ball effectively-- 7 - 5 redskins. There you have it. Also as a bonus: (5) If the redskins key to victory is containing Daniel Jones, then the key to a clean life is showering between 1 and 3 times per week.
  3. For what its worth, I don't believe this report refers to "cold fusion," from the debunked 1989 report of Martin Fleischmann and Stanley Pons, but instead to a fusion process that occurs at high temperatures. Like what happens with the Sun.
  4. I have 4 predictions. If the Skins run the ball effectively, and can control Daniel Jones, they win 34-10. If the Skins do not run the ball effectively, but still control Jones, they win 17-10. If the Skins run the ball effectively, but do not control Jones, they win 34-17. If they do not run the ball effectively and do not control Daniel Jones, they tie 17-17. There you have it.
  5. https://www.cnn.com/2022/12/12/politics/nuclear-fusion-energy-us-scientists-climate/index.html The US Department of Energy is expected to announce Tuesday that scientists have for the first time successfully produced a nuclear fusion reaction resulting in a net energy gain, according to the Financial Times and The Washington Post. The result of the experiment would be a massive step in a decadeslong quest to unleash an infinite source of clean energy that could help end dependence on fossil fuels. Researchers have for decades attempted to recreate nuclear fusion – replicating the fusion that powers the sun. Scientists at the National Ignition Facility at the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory in California made the discovery, according to The Post. ************************* Reported by multiple major news outlets, including Washington Post, CNN, FoxNews, the Guardian, blah blah blah. Scientist/physicist nerds-- talk amongst yourselves, try not to mess you pants, and let everyone else listen.
  6. Here's my concern with Scott Turner. On 2nd and 18 with 1:28 to go in overtime, Robinson runs the balls from the 7 yard line out to the 15 yard line. Giants call a timeout with 1:23 to go. On 3rd and 10 at the 15 yard line with 1:23 left, the Commanders run the ball to Gibson from the shotgun. The Commanders had plenty of time to continue the drive had they made a first down. And considering the field position, another sack would not have resulted in a safety, If they run the ball in this situation, they are unlikely to get a 1st down, and the result will be punting from deep in your own territory (maybe to the Giants 35 yard line at best) giving the Giants roughly 30 seconds to get into field goal range. One of two things happened here, (1) Scott Turner made a terrible play call by running the football in a clear passing situation, or (2) Scott Turner was afraid, under the circumstances, that Heinicke was unlikely to complete a pass beyond 10 yards (or would throw an INT), so it was better to punt to the Giants and pray for a tie. So it appears that Turner had no confidence in his quarterback's ability to get a first down, and instead chose to give the Giants decent field position and a legitimate chance to win the game. Best case scenario when making that call, (other than an unlikely rushing first down), the Commanders get a tie.
  7. I'm thinking they would get called for encroachment, but Wentz would also be called for intentional grounding, On the same play, William Jackson would also somehow be called for pass interference, even though he'd be on the sideline.
  8. Guys, this photo right here really sums up the offensive line play over the past two weeks. And these are two of our starters (Leno and Norwell), not the guys we pulled in off the street because we have no backups capable of "backing up" starters..... These guys are actually blocking each other instead of the other team. I guess they needed some extra work on their technique, so why not get their reps against one another while playing on Sunday. Its not like they played i preseason.
  9. Assuming that 1000 people have been arrested for public protest (i.e. anyone that is seen protesting) I think that evidences a fairly substantial "dissent" among the population. Those people have to realize that when they get placed in the paddy-wagon, they're not going to the local jail to wait for their roommate the post the 100 ruble bail, and to ultimately get slapped with a 150 ruble fine and 10 hours of community service, all the while basking in the glory of being "brave enough" to get arrested. No..... their asses are going to disappear. And not because those 1000 represent some sort of real threat, but because their associates, friends, family, etc. that chose not to publicly display their dissent are also watching. In any event, with the amount of propaganda coming from Putin's regime, its going to be a long haul to convince Russia's citizens that its time for a change.
  10. Yet Putin is holding himself out to be a strong member of the Russian Orthodox Church. He has also taken some indirect shots at past leaders (Lenin) for allowing Ukraine to become a country in the first place. And he's never suggested that communism is a form of government that should be employed in Russia. It's like he's looking back in history and avoiding the mistakes of the old communist regime (i.e. elimination of religion, refusal to engage in commerce w/ capitalist nations, communism in general), while being careful not to criticize the authoritarian aspects to the USSR (i.e. annexing or controlling border states, authoritarian government, use of force to accomplish his ends). He wants to be the czar, not whatever the hell Stalin called himself. But he does want to be Stalin.
  11. Well, I think Time Magazine named Hitler its "Man of the Year" in 1938, so Jon Allen isn't too far off. Of course, tone deaf selections of genocidal mad men for what appear to be prestigious awards (or sit down dinner invitations) are never going to go over well. Jon Allen's correction on this should have been "I would want to pick his brain as to why he did what he did, [with an ice pick]."
  12. Baseball: Washington Senators (but Nationals is fine) Hockey: Washington Filibusters (like "freeze" because they play on ice) Basketball: Washington Hipsters (in honor of the hipster invasion that began ~ 15 years ago) Football: Washington Sniksder, until someone catches on, then I'd go with Redwolves, RedHogs, RedDogs, RedRiver, RedOwls, RedFish, RedAnts, RedMoons, RedRash, or RedRockets (in honor of Snyder's latest alleged indiscretions).
  13. or you could watch... (6) Star Wars/Golden Girls crossover Halloween special (7) The Good, The Bad, and the General Ackbar (8) The Coruscant Redemption (starring Joe Jonas as Biggs Darklighter) (9) 12 Angry Dianogas (10) One Flew Over the Neimoidian Pylat Bird's Nest
  14. I wouldn't mind seeing: (1) Wookie Day Care (2) MTV Cribs- Greedo's House (3) 60 Minutes with Jar-Jar Binks (4) National Lampoon's Boonta Vacation (starring Grand Muff Tarkin and family) (5) Bantha Bob Squarepants
  15. No, he'd probably just think everyone loves him and then he would name himself as the new mascot. He's that tone deaf.
  16. IDCLIP let you walk straight through walls. There was also a berserk mode that made you invincible. Ahh... back when video games were nearly outlawed, but were simple and the controller had 4 buttons... At the beginning of the last level on Doom II where you can hear a demonic message. My buddy and I spent like 5 hours trying to tape it and play it backwards, and still couldn't tell what the **** it meant.
  17. Yeah i was hoping it would be like Doom 2 but with better graphics. Seems like its really complicated, and I can't be past part of the first level because I can't double jump high enough to grab a bar to get through one section. Where the hell is "IDCLIP" when you need it?
  18. Anyone ever played Doom Eternal? The ****ing double jump thing is killing me. thought this would be like Doom from 1995.
  19. I assume that the failure rate was a positive result bias. If so, that might explain why my wife's grandmother tested positive twice in 2020 while in nursing home but had no symptoms.
  20. My good friend's has three boys ages 6, 9, and 11. All three contracted Covid in the past 3 days (26th, 27th, 28th), or at least their symptoms started. Each had a roughly 24 hours of mild congestion, and low grade fever (~100), and generally tired, and they are each like new now, no symptoms. None were vaccinated. His wife started having symptoms yesterday, and she's still "moderately congested" as of now but better. He has not had symptoms. Both are fully vaccinated with boosters. It sounds to me like they all caught the Omicron strain, so the 24 hours recovery period is good news. Anecdotal of course though.
  21. I was at that game with my father. At least it was close. This was worse.
  22. no, I actually would be ok with that. Obviously over the top but something that ties into Hans adventures during the 30 year break
  23. Maybe the writers will insert a baby Chewbacca as the lead in season 3. And then Han will come take him away at end of season 4. Imagine the merchandizing off of that move if they make him like look like a puppy!!
