  1. And if I wes Canadian I’d be grilling up a moose steak in my Jordache jean jacket while watching the Argonauts beat the Rough Riders.
  2. Not sure anyone cares about Lord sugar,, or for that matter knows who he is.
  3. Looks like we got an Atlantian nut job in the thread now. Just what we needed....😂
  4. Not to beat a dead horse, but the bluebook doesn't appear to take a position on it. Here's a more important tip though. Courts don't care. Now, back to Aliens and Bigfoot.
  5. So here's the question, from the options in the poll, which is the most likely to actually exist? This is not to say that your selection indicates the likelihood, if even reasonable possible of the existence of any of the options. None is not an option. Simply indicate which is most likely to exist/have occurred.
  6. There's still 9 days until the opener, Plenty of time for this to resolve itself. I have no idea why anyone would suggest that a "stinger" would keep Chase out for opening day at this juncture, unless there's a more serious issue not being reported.
  7. If Gibbs had traded Williams after 1986, the team rides Jay Schroder for 10+ years with multiple playoff appearances and 3 Super Bowls. I know Schroeder was more or less a failure with the Raiders, but the Redskins were a much better, more stable franchise. With the Redskins line protecting him, I envision a lot of success. I watched a little of the Bears/Redskins 1986 divisional game a couple weeks ago (which spurred my interest in making this thread), and Schroeder was pretty damn good. Threw one pass 30 yards off his back foot early in the game with defender in his face for a touchdown. He neutralized the Bears 46 defense/blitz, which only Marino had been able to do that year. Even the announcers were talking about how that was Schroeder's intention. If Riggins never unretires, that opens up a range of possibilities. Joe Washington was there, but he wouldn't have been able to carry the load. Maybe they pick up James Brooks in the 1981 draft and use him and Joe W. together somehow. Brooks went #24 to the chargers, and the Redskins pick Mark May at #20. Maybe they swing and miss on another back in the 1981 1st round. Under just about any scenario I don't think they win Super Bowl 17 without Riggins. If RFK stadium had been renovated, John Kent Cooke would have had the assets to purchase the team from his father's estate because there's no need to purchase Fedex field along with the franchise. SNYDER NEVER HAPPENS.
  8. yeah i knew that, my mistake. LT was jumping up and down signaling for help. I recall that he thew like 5 INts against the bears.
  9. From time to time over the course of my adult fandom, I have wondered how the fortunes of the franchise would have changed if certain key events had not transpired. I'll open it up by offering a few key moment over the past 40 years. (1) What if Joe Theismann does not break his leg in 1985 against the Giants? Result: Joe finishes out the season, and starts the 1986 season with Schroeder as his backup. The Redskins do not sign Doug Williams in the spring of 1986. After 8 games, Schroeder takes over for an aging Theismann, the team finishes 10-6. Theismann stays on as the backup the Schroeder in 1987, steps in when Jay is injured against the Eagles, and leads the team to a wildcard while Schroeder pouts on the bench. 1st round playoff loss, and Schroeder takes over for good to start the 1988 season. (2) What if Jay Schroeder is not injured in week 1 of the 1987 season against the Eagles? Result: Jay plays out 1987 season in the same fashion he played in 1986-- Lots of big plays, and lots of turnovers. Doug Williams does not see the field. The Redskins win the division, but lose to the Vikings in the championship game. Jay remains the starter through 1994, with moderate success but no super bowls victories. Mark Rypien is the backup, but never truly gets a chance to start and is out of the league by 1993. (3) What if Timmy Smith had turned out to be better a really good back after Super Bowl XXII, averaging 1000 yards from 1988-1991? Result: The front office sees no reason to sign Gerald Riggs or Earnest Byner after the 1988 season. Timmy fills that role admirably, and the Redskins repeat as champions in 1988 behind an effective running game, with a combination of Doug Williams and Mark Rypien leading the charge. Rypien takes over for good in 1989, and the team sees two more playoff seasons before capping things off with the 1991 Super Bowl. After that, things fall apart. (4) What if Joe Gibbs does not retire after the 1992 season? Result: Joe coaches the team for 8 more seasons, and retires after the 2000 season. During that span, and due to the presence of Joe, Mark Rypien maintains his form for several seasons, the team's success attracts the right type of talent during the era of free agency, and the team wins 2 more Super Bowls after reloading during the 1993-1994 seasons.
  10. Agreed. He signed his own death warrant. "Putin says he won't kill me if I call off the coup, so I should be good." However, that doesn't mean that certain vital parts of an aircraft he'll be flying on won't be removed by Putin's mechanic.
  11. So where is the best place to pick up a redzone tailgate pass? Do people hang out at that one 7-Eleven selling things like they used to 10-15 years ago?
  12. Looking to buy 1 or 2 parking passes for the upcoming monday night game. RedZone lot. Let me know.
  13. Well, realistically my biggest concerns are that: (1) there was no talent on the offensive line last year; (2) their best lineman (Leno) is average at best, and is now 31; (3) they plugged one gap by signing Wylie, but ignored the position in the draft to take 2 defensive backs; (4) they're trying to sell a 7th round draft pick named Chris Paul as an answer, and (5) they're counting on a guy that the Giants kicked to the curb, who has been limited to 12 starts in the past 2 years and wasn't anything special when he did pay, to start at center. Then, i would rank the risk of Ron pushing Cosmi to edge rusher as my #6 concern.
  14. My biggest concern is that Ron switches Sam Cosmi to edge. I'm not talking about back to right tackle, I'm suggesting a switch to edge rusher on defense.
  15. Reporter: Ron, how are the players adapting to Eric Bieniemy and his offensive scheme so far? Ron: Eric's playbook is very long and complicated. I agreed to give him authority not only over the offense, but also over play calling duties because I did not want to learn all of the plays myself. It is very difficult to call plays when you don't understand the playbook, and that would have been obvious right up front if I had to call the plays. Reporter: Ron, what do you think about the conditions a training camp? Ron: I will always be thankful to and respect Dan Snyder for giving me the chance to coach this team. I learned a ton from him. Reporter: Ron, how are the defensive backs looking? Ron: The offensive line is very weak. We really should have addressed that unit at during last Spring's draft. Reporter: Ron, is Sam Howell still the #1 QB going into the third week of practice? Ron: Sam has been inconsistent. Candidly, I knew that he was not the answer going into the offseason, but I had to name someone as QB1 because no respectable veteran would come here. Also, I don't want to put Jacoby in with the first unit because then you will also see that he's very inconsistent, and is not the answer.
  16. So, without reading through that past 2 weeks of posts, how does Sam Howell actually look? Keep hearing different things in the media, anywhere from "he's struggling" to he's doing everyone he needs to do. Guess there's not much chance anyone on here really knows either, but figured i'd take a shot.
  17. Yes, it was last year. Unfortunately I don't have any footage from this season yet, but I will post as soon as I get the tape.
  18. The Commanders O-line has the aggression part of it down, although sometimes misdirected. Just has a few small things it needs to work on.....
