  1. I agree with all that but a R President with a R thin majority in Senate = they get to seat who ever they want. Its just the way it is. Sucks. This was what the election was all about and urban pockets of desperately needed D voters in Ohio, Michigan, Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, Florida didnt show up. Kav is going to be confirmed, I doubt Collins or Markusky (sp?) will vote no. Dems need to get out and vote like they did when Obama was on the ticket.
  2. I just accept that flying, dealing with lines etc is the norm and part of the process. I fly roundtrip maybe once a year though so im not a frequent flyer. I do think the overhead space should be marked for the corresponding seats below. Pretty annoying that some people try to monopolize the bins.
  3. I dont think Roe v Wade will be overturned ... but it will be further tweaked by states like Texas .. then the decisions will be decided by the hard right judges Trump has appointed to the Fed Dist and COA levels where they will side with the State restrictions. The Texas law requiring hospital admitting privileges which was overturned will now probably be affirmed or the SCOTUS will not decide to hear if fed co allows the law to stand. Biggest impact imo will be voter laws, gerrymandering etc. .. SCOTUS will decline to hear about N Carolina or PA's gerrymandering but accept a review Md's gerrymandering. Uphold voter id laws, uphold laws that limit the number the voting stations in urban areas thereby making the lines long for dems in cities but not repubs in the countryside.
  4. Yup. Only small issue is that on shotgun snaps, seems like the ball comes out maybe a foot too low (and slow) and Alex has to reach down just slightly to grab it. Almost took away the timing of the quick slant to Crowder for the TD. Ricky Jean Francois - nice to see him starting for the Lions D line. While I liked RJF as a rotational piece here, charity work etc ... its nice to know he wouldnt crack our current roster
  5. By seasons end, I really hope some beat writer takes the time to put together film and break down what is going on w Doct. Is he not getting separation? Are we misusing him? Kirk and now Alex dont seem to involve him. I have to think its lack of separation. I dont think he is the fastest guy out there and he had those achillies/foot injuries so it must be separation and QBs just turn down his route .. but weve heard in every PS how great his route running and footwork is. I need some definitive answers here by seasons end. I need closure on this enigma. Is he still limited from that prior injury that lasted 2 years? Maybe idk.
  6. https://www.nbcnews.com/news/us-news/gunman-dead-shooting-pennsylvania-judges-office-n911176 My brother just got a call from our cousin. He was the deputy/sheriff who shot and killed this gunman on Wednesday. My cousin was not injured. Thank goodness.
  7. Lynn Redden, the Onalaska ISD Superintendent, posted his criticism on the Houston Chronicle Facebook page after the Texans’ loss to the Tennessee Titans on Sunday, according to the newspaper. Redden referenced the last play of the game in which Watson held onto the ball in the final seconds. “That may have been the most inept quarterback decision I've seen in the NFL,” he said of the former Clemson star. “When you need precision decision making you can't count on a black quarterback.” Redden told the Houston Chronicle he deleted the comment after he realized it was a public post. “I totally regret it,” Redden told the newspaper. He said he could see how people would interpret his comment as racist, but he said he was talking about the lack of statistical success of black quarterbacks in the NFL. http://www.foxnews.com/sports/2018/09/18/texas-superintendent-apologizes-for-comment-on-nfl-star-deshaun-watson.html Go **** yourself Redden for 2 reasons. 1 - you would have left it up if it was a private message? I can only imagine the racist **** you say in private, you coward low life piece of **** human being. 2 - the old "sorry you interpreted it wrong" defense. Right .. its us normal non-racist people's ability not to interpret things correctly. Thats the problem. Not the fact that you think black people are intellectually inferior to white people.
  8. The only section that could potentially apply to anthem protests in the rules (not to be confused with the policies) comes under the section on player equipment, uniforms and player appearance. Rule 5, Section 4, Article 8 (found on page 23), deals with "personal messages." Here's how that rule begins: "Throughout the period on game-day that a player is visible to the stadium and television audience (including in pregame warm-ups, in the bench area, and during postgame interviews in the locker room or on the field), players are prohibited from wearing, displaying, or otherwise conveying personal messages either in writing or illustration, unless such message has been approved in advance by the League office. Items to celebrate anniversaries or memorable events, or to honor or commemorate individuals, such as helmet decals, and arm bands and jersey patches on players’ uniforms, are prohibited unless approved in advance by the League office." > my thoughts ... how broad do we define "illustration". Clearly kneeling isnt "in writing". The term "illustration", in context of the surrounding language, seems to mean a physical illustration to a jersey, helmet, arm band etc and that would rule out "kneeling" as being included under the term "illustration". ----------------------------------------------- "during the national anthem, players must stand, face the flag, hold their helmet in their left hand and refrain from talking. " While this language does not appear in the 2017 Official Playing Rules of the National Football League, which is available in its entirety online, it is a part of the game operations manual, which is distributed to all 32 teams, according to NFL spokesperson Brian McCarthy. > my thoughts ... if this is not included in the 4 corners of the CBA, I dont see how it is binding. The CBA is a contract and agreement that was the result of a very detailed negotiation process. If the league didnt include it in the CBA, I dont think they can enforce it in terms of discipline or fines. Including it in a "Game Operation Manual" written by the NFL is not binding on the NFLPA ... unless the CBA has a clause stating players must comply with the "Game Operation Manual" with fine or discipline laid out. ----------------------- https://www.indystar.com/story/news/2017/09/25/what-nfl-rule-book-actually-says-national-anthem/699886001/ My inconsequential thought right now ... NFL cant force players to stand with fines or discipline. They could ask them nicely.
  9. But why did she do it? I just dont get the motive for this to be an intentional act. This has to be a lover's scorn situation to make sense to me. The crumbs are coming in, just waiting for the bombshell "they were intimate at one point" to drop.
  10. The officers version is believable imo. I dont know if its the truth and Im not saying it is. Without a motive (i.e. they knew each other previously, lover scorn, something) I think a jury will find her version credible. She parked on the wrong floor, 4th floor instead of 3rd, his apartment is 1478 and hers is 1378 and directly below his. She goes to open door but realizes its slightly ajar = red flags something is not right, someone broke into your place. From there you have a scared person with a gun and we know how that ends up. Without a motive, this may be tough to prove mens rea. Going off her version alone, her actions were not of a reasonable person .. but was it reckless, was it intentional, deliberate indifference? Im not sure where it falls. Only thing ive seen to disprove the officers version and its a big one if accurate, “There are witnesses who said that before the gunshots, they heard the officer knocking at the door and repeatedly saying, ‘Let me in,’ ” Merritt told The Washington Post. Also, the deceased put a big red doormat in front of his apartment door so people would not get confused. https://www.washingtonpost.com/nation/2018/09/10/dallas-officer-who-shot-man-claims-she-didnt-know-she-was-wrong-apartment-until-calling/?noredirect=on&utm_term=.43342a17bb30
  11. Where is Cooley? I thought Galdi was just filling in for a bit but expected him and Kevin or him and Galdi up and running week 1. Bad morning radio imo.
  12. So Cooley isnt on radio right now? Its Al Galdi or the junkies? No Cooley breakdowns? Well ... that sucks.
  13. Yes, you can find many photos of many people making the OK hand signal including Obama and Clinton etc .... with the intent being to say "okay". When white nationalists do it, its intent is not to say "okay". If you think its the same, thats your right and choice. I think its going out of your way to ignore context to discredit what others think is white nationalists, I gotta wonder ... why are you putting yourself on the same sideline as white nationalists? To trigger snowflakes and libbies? Thats a great way to go through life. Enjoy your time in the sun white nationalist republicans. The world is currently yours. Cant argue that. But is this how republicans want to be remembered? The time you had control of the entire US government and you are doing it in this fashion? Enjoy it while it lasts.
  14. I am an eager beaver when it comes to spotting the WP hand symbol. I am convinced it did start as a joke but now has been adopted as a white nationalist hand symbol. I dont think she was doing it. The third bottom finger would have to be intentionally extended. ^^ alt right "news" contributor and former Trump staffer ^^ alt right "journalists" ^^ Milo
  15. This thread probably isnt even created, let alone hit 123 pages without Kap. He wanted to start a discussion, seems like he accomplished that.
  16. Play the anthem. If players or people want to sit or kneel, good for them. Ill stand along side them. Then lets play some ****ing ball.
  17. Fred Smoot can talk. That guy has a funny phrase or metaphor for everything. I thought I wouldnt like his over the top southern thing but I do, he says stuff that is on point as well. I liked Czabe and Cooley in the pm drive home. Cooley and Galdi are okay, Cooley acts too much like a know it all kinda "im superior to you bc I played" prick w Galdi though.
  18. Terrance Davis isnt starting? That doesnt sound right. Is he transferring?
  19. I did say "shooter games" but I guess any teen or young person who plays video games 24/7/365 raises social/emotion red flags for me. Seems like a few times a month a family member is killed bc the family member wanted to take a controller away from some teen/20 something. Brother killed brother a few days ago over a remote. A few weeks ago 2 brothers killed their mom of video games. Young dad kills crying newborn. I do think people with certain problems latch onto and become obsessed with video games. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Experts in Maryland say the video gaming gunman's history of mental illness apparently wouldn't have stopped him from buying guns before he killed two people and wounded 10 and then killed himself at a tournament in Florida. Maryland law prevents someone from passing a background check to buy guns if they were either involuntarily committed for any period of time or voluntarily admitted to a psychiatric facility for at least 30 consecutive days. David Katz was hospitalized at least twice, but Daniel Webster, who directs the Johns Hopkins Center for Gun Policy and Research, says his treatment wasn't enough to disqualify him. Maryland State troopers are responsible for investigating gun purchases in Katz's home state, but they're not talking for now to avoid interfering with the investigation in Jacksonville. https://foxbaltimore.com/news/nation-world/maryland-legislator-says-laws-on-firearms-and-mental-health-will-be-reviewed Sounds like MD legislature might lower the "mental health" threshold.
  20. I feel like Im turning into an old man overnight ... I kinda in part blame the violent shooter video games. This guy was 24 years old, lives with parents and is a professional gamer so I assume that means he sits in a dark room and plays 16 hours a day 7 days a week. chicken or egg - do video games attract the already troubled introvert or do they change a seemingly normal person into a detached from reality killer?
  21. Is that on netflix yet? I read an article saying it was, then went and couldnt find it on there. Sin City - last movie I watched. classic imo. Watch it once a year or so.
