  1. Chop seems like a poor man’s Chase Young. The rest of these guys seem like rotational types. Fortunately, FA is very deep with EDGE types If KDawg’s assertion that Jamin can play 3-4 OLB is correct, that leaves us needing to fill another EDGE role and find 2 starting caliber ILBs. I’d rather take on the challenge of finding 2 starters at ILB. If we go 4-3, we need 2 EDGE starters and at least one 1 ILB starter. Give me the challenge of finding a ILB starter over an EDGE starter
  2. I also want to see Payne not having to deal with double teams and use his tremendous athleticism to take on single blockers and rush the passer. That was a flaw of the 3-4 the last go around
  3. I think we need to find that elite EDGE player, a green dot LB and a FS who can lead the secondary but we are all forgetting that this D was a top 10 D a year ago. The only guys playing better this year vs last year are Fuller (longtime vet in a contract year) and Davis (he was horrible first quarter of 2022). Everyone else has regressed and, in the cases of BSJ, Allen, Payne, Curl and Forrest, they have regressed hard With a competent DC and position coaches and some talent upgrades, I think we can get back to respectability next year and at least be average
  4. This is why I am not super excited about Fashanu. If I am drafting a top 10 guy, I want an elite guy and I don’t think Fashanu is it due to the average run blocking
  5. The first one happened before the Bengals were able to make the pick and second one has now happened after the Bengals made a big investment in the OL and brought in Orlando Brown Jr so you tell me…
  6. You are effectively arguing that the Bengals were idiots for drafting Chase after already having Higgins and Boyd without a great offensive line.
  7. A piece of good news is that I think the DC market will have plenty of talent available. It could include Saleh, McDermott, Frazier and Staley, among others
  8. The other thing is the setup. The question I would ask BJ's agent now is whether there is a list of GM candidates he'd like to work with. We could try to set up a package deal to hire that guy (assuming he is legit) + BJ
  9. Yep. This is what some of us are thinking. Every year things are different but we got Sweat at #25 a few years ago for a 2nd and a future 2nd. I would think it is almost a guarantee that both our seconds (as high seconds) will get us to at least a similar spot, if not higher. If Harrison and Bowers are gone, I am a bit tempted to also consider Odunze. I think he too looks like a 1A receiver at the next level
  10. What is interesting about Bowers is he has taken carries as a back and can also be used as a gadget guy with end arounds and such given his speed. I see him as a versatile chess piece you can have as a Y TE, move TE, on the outside as a receiver, a FB amd H-back. Because of his flexibility, you can effectively scheme up some really cool stuff for him with the right OC
  11. Good to see Luvu get some love. I would venture to guess that the majority of this board has no idea who he is. He, then Al Shaair, are my top two at green dot LB. I’m wondering why Ezra Cleveland is so low on the guard list. He has been having a very good season.
  12. My thesis here is that the two 2nd round picks should be enough to get back into the mid 1st first to grab one of these great RT prospects. My early view on things is that the only LT prospect who immediately jumps off the page as having elite upside is Mims - Fashanu and Alt both seem like guys who will be solid LTs but not special. Fuaga, Latham and Kingsley, on the other hand, all seem like guys who have a chance to end up as top 5 RTs in this league
  13. Patrick Queen? We already have him. His name is Jamin Davis. Queen was one of the worst linebackers in the league until Roquan came aboard

  15. 😂 . Would only hurt draft position at this point
  16. I don’t know about that. Seems like the injuries have caught up to him and he is a JAG now
  17. I am normally anti-TE in the first round too. I would have hated taking Mayer, for example, in rd 1 last year. However, this is a true two way Y TE who has been the #1 weapon at the top football program in the nation. He apparently runs a 4.5 and is a heck of an athlete and I feel his skillset will translate really well to the pros. The only real ding is that he does not have elite size. He seems like he would be an enhancer in both the running game with his blocking (and the occasional carry) and in the passing game as both a safety blanket and downfield threat for Sam & offering better chip help for the tackles.
  18. I don’t think he will. I think the only jobs that may come up better than ours are the Chargers and the Patriots. With the Chargers, you have weather and Herbert but you also have bad ownership and an unstable FO situation if they keep Telesco. With the Pats, you have a what you’d want outside the QB which you may get if you pick high enough but you are following Bill’s legacy
  19. Good to see someone else here gets it regarding Hunter. He is one of the few true blue chip guys who will hit the market and he is only hitting the market this year because the Vikings agreed to not to tag him in order to get him to come back this year. He is the most underrated edge rusher in the league and is just right below the Bosa/Garrett/Watt tier. I think he is going to age well and I would have no qualms about giving him something like 3/90 as he would be the first true blue chip player this team would have since Trent (maybe Jon Allen just touches this in 2021 and 2022). This is also why my focus in the draft is getting a guy who profiles as a blue chip player more than focusing on a position. If we take a Harrison or Bowers, we have the resources to move up to take a Fuaga, Latham or Kingsley in the mid 1st (with all three guys having the potential to be blue chip on their own right as RTs). We ultimately need to do what we can to get to at least 4 players who have a very realistic chance of being All Pros as soon as possible with another set of players behind them who can be Pro Bowlers/Pro Bowl alternate level starters
  20. I would actually trade both seconds to get into the mid 1st to grab the RT I want and get the 5th year in that scenario. There are some good guards in this crop like Beebe and Barton but the struggles this year’s 2nd round+ IOL crop have had worry me. I don’t want Sam worrying about interior pressure next year as center is a likely question mark anyway
  21. Given how in shambles the Pats O is, the NYG D should put up a good fight. The Pats secondary is currently a ****show with them cutting Jack Jones and JC Johnson being on the outs. That one should be interesting
  22. OT stinks for FA and should be solved in the draft. However, there are some solid guards who will be out there in FA. Ezra Cleveland, Jonah Jackson, Vaitai, etc
