  1. Cosmi is more than serviceable. He is a legit good guard who could still become great. Keep his performance in mind given who he has playing next to him. Leno apparently struggles on the right side and he doesn’t have the weight to play guard at 305 except a zone scheme Stromberg is a question mark. Can’t count on him to start next year
  2. Comp for Sam will tie to how he finishes this year. If he pulls off another stellar game or two in these last 4, the Raiders, Bucs, Vikings or Saints may trade a second or third for him but most teams are probably going to hold their picks and take their own guy in this class
  3. We saw all we needed to regarding what the team thinks of Sam went Leno and Samuel started throwing fists after he scored the rushing TD against NY
  4. I will also say White is not a guy we want. Overrated player due to his 2020 season but he makes a ton of mistakes and David is the green dot in TB
  5. Most recent comp for this is probably Minshew. Jaguars clearly felt uncomfortable keeping him and traded him to the Eagles. You could argue Davis Mills as an example and that being a counterpoint because the Texans kept him but he shat the bed his 2nd year so there was no controversy there. The cleanest thing to do is to trade Sam in that scenario and have a veteran backup like a Brissett who is not a threat
  6. You can’t keep Howell if you take a QB. As others have pointed out, it sets things up for a QB controversy. I would rather get a haul for Daniels than draft him and replace Howell
  7. It is less than $2M in cap savings. Wylie is better than your standard vet min lineman. At minimum, I’d keep him as a utility backup
  8. If you guys recall, Roseman made Pederson sit Hurts in the second half against us in 2020 to preserve their pick, which they parlayed into a ton of assets down the line. Roseman knew he was going to fire Pederson. Similarly, Harris should make Rivera start sitting folks for the last 2 games
  9. He made the decision to move on from Ryan after his first year there and Ryan’s dead cap hit hit in 2022, meaning Smith and the Falcons have been in a clean cap situation in 2023. Although they may win a pathetic NFC South, Smith and the Falcons have been a disappointment. He gets canned if they don’t make the playoffs
  10. The reason Arthur Smith is failing in Atlanta is because he is running a 1990s offense with the run/pass mix and he refuses to feed his best players who happen all be top 10 picks (Pitts, London and Robinson). He and his GM also apparently do not believe in the importance of the QB position given they have both arguably had the worst opening day starter each of the past two years.
  11. There is data science you can use these days to build models to figure out how who is going to sustain productivity into their early 30s and who will have a dropoff. There is an argument to be had that Mike's body type and great health through his career will help him sustain productivity for at least a couple more years. Feels like half the games he's missed in recent years have been due to suspensions from getting in scuffles with Marshon Lattimore
  12. Probably a fantasy for me but it is a possibility if he is focused on maximizing $ at this point in his career (he has his ring) and if some of the guys he likes on the TB staff come over here this offseason (such as Dave Canales who would be a great #2 to an offensive minded HC).
  13. Good OL and a scheme that gives Sam easy answers on the longer developing pass plays. To be fair, taking sacks and being slower to process were flaws of Sam's at UNC. He would be 1a or 1b here. He seems unselfish about that stuff - he shared that mantle with DJax and Godwin at different points in his career
  14. Someone is going to way overpay Pittman this offseason. He strikes me as the type of player who will get paid like an elite player without the elite player ceiling. If you want to pay a receiver big money, pay the guy who has had 10 straight 1000 yard seasons and a bunch of TDs
  15. Something that doesn't get talked about is that Jahan's 3 cone at the combine was 14th percentile, which is terrible. Yes he runs great routes but I question his quickness
  16. Slowik is going to check a lot of boxes - Calling plays successfully as an OC - Analytics background - worked at PFF for a few seasons - Experience on defensive side of the ball - Connection to Adam Peters - Network of quality assistants to bring with him
  17. I think the players see him as a buddy (you could see that on the sidelines). My guess is Fangio is more the leader of men
  18. Given the number of staff changes that are going to happen this offseason, I would expect some solid vets to be released. For example, in NE, a new staff may not want to keep someone like Hunter Henry around.
  19. Robinson is our best shot at a Pro Bowler this year outside of Tress. He has sneakily had one of the best seasons of an NFC RB this season
  20. I think the fundamental reason a new GM/coach should give Howell next season to prove himself is because he has shown us that he is a special player creating off schedule. It is entirely possible that he is flawed on schedule and he can’t process or anticipate throws quickly enough but he deserves the ability to prove whether or not he can in a better scheme
  21. He means in the offseason and Daron is at his best as a 3 technique (outside of this season where his pass rush has been anemic). There is a reason they bring in Ridgeway and Mathis to play the nose in their cinco package I forget who it was but someone recently on a podcast seemed to question Allen’s leadership. To the outside world, he is the leader of the D but that person seemed to indicate he clearly is no London Fletcher .
  22. Yep. Got an absolute haul for Tunsil. A couple 1sts for an above average but not elite OT. It really was just one lean season in 2019 at 5-11. People forget that Flores then went 10-6 and 9-8 before McDaniel got there Chris Grier and team did a fantastic job building a fantastic roster via the draft and FA. Getting McDaniel, Hill, Waddle and the backs has put it over the top
