"

Redskins veteran DeAngelo Hall provided an update on his recovery from a twice-torn Achilles’ tendon via Twitter late Friday.

The 31-year-old cornerback also included pictures of himself doing a celebratory backflip."

Great news if he is going to be able to be ready for camp.

Hall has played some spot duty at S a couple of plays here or there in a couple of games.

But has never played a consistent or substantial amounts of reps lets alone a game at S.

Personally I've always thought he would be a good fit a FS and still do, especially now that he improved his tackling.

Maybe Perry Fewel can help the transition because I believe he helped Rolle make the same transition.

Maybe it's wishful thinking.......but I think Hall would be a good to very good FS. But I guess we'll see.

With the way DHall ballhawks, with the right coaching and discapline not to get torched on a double move i think he could be more than servicable at FS for a couple of seasons while we draft and coach someone else up. Man all of a sudden our defense might actually have graduated out of the bush league and until the bottom 3rd of the league.

The only thing I'd be worried about with DHall at safety is him matching up with bruising tight ends or him being the last line of defense in the run game. He's a willing tackler, but if we're putting him at free to protect him he's may wind up getting matched up with slower, but much bigger guys.

Hope he can provide what we're used to. turned into a fiery leader but we need those ball skills to return.

Cornerback cuts and transitions are no bueno for Achilles that were torn TWICE in a period of weeks. I think he would be good at Free Safety. Have him fully recover that heel and get his vertical up for some vintage D Hall at Safety this time

My boy D-Hall!! Even after being the best CB we've had since Champ he still gets no respect.. Everyone loves Bree and Cully but dont be surprised if Hall beats both of them out for the @1 spot.

I can't speak for everyone on ES but I think D'Angelo Hall has the respect of most Redskins fans. I am happy to see him motivated and ready to play but the back to back Achilles surgeries have me concerned. I am glad Scot addressed CB position this offseason because I would have not felt comfortable with DeAngelo, or Amerson starting opposite Breeland. This would be an excellent year for D'Angelo to take his time and transition to the FS position.

D'Angelo has been one of the few Redskins to show heart during the past few seasons when the season seemed bleak. I very happy to have seen him find his niche in DC and I hope retires as a Redskin.

You see the thing is, Jason Peters had the same injury (and re-injury), and being a big LT cannot be easy on the feet. The surgeries are getting better and better, and more and more are returning to form. Look at Thomas Davis - younger, certainly, but the odds of returning and remaining healthy. We're not talking about Malcolm Kelly here.

With assumed delay in his initial quickness, he profiles better as a free safety. Look how small Earl Thomas is comparatively - size is a non-issue. I could see DeAngelo playing for 4-5 years if he transitioned to safety now, and even longer if the team is strong.  It is too early to let him go when you could get prolonged above-average play from free safety.

Deangelo Hall is the subject of the most uninformed vitriol that has befallen any Redskin since Mark Brunell! It's lightened up a little but its still there on the surface waiting to erupt the moment they see him chasing a WR for a TD ( even though it may not have been his assignment).

I dont see why people want Hall to move to FS if he proves he's our best CB. And the hype over Breeland and Culliver has got to subside a bit.. Cully is good but not great and Bree's sample size is so small that honestly noone really knows what kind of corner he really is.  Both have the potential to be very good and I hope they are. But lets be honest. Based off what we've seen of them they both will have to step up their play to take the #1 corner spot from Hall.
