The entire FedExField staff is aggressively opposed to this kind of behavior, and will do everything they can to stop it once they learn of it. The attendants are all versed on how to respond to fights, or any behavior that dilutes another fan's enjoyment of the game.

A text to SKINS at 69050 followed by a section and row will bring Stadium security quickly - usually within a minute or two. You can also call 301 276-6100, but it's difficult to be heard with the crowd noise. Problem fans will be escorted out of the Stadium. If more serious charges are warranted, they'll be placed in a holding cell until after the game, and then process for arrest by the PG County police after the game.

This text info - SKINS 69050 - is displayed in all four corners of the stadium between the two suite levels. It can be seen from almost anywhere in the bowl.

EDITED to remove my POV (Because Mark is THE MAN and said everything that needed to be said!):notworthy

I had someone urinating on a chair in my section. He didn't even sit there. He just "didn't feel like going to the bathroom." Hahaha.

I told him to meet me after school by the willow trees... but security caught him first.

years ago at the block punt/Sean Taylor game I saw that happen with a Skins fan hitting a Dallas fan. But then after the game I saw a Dallas fan call a African-American cop who was there trying to figure out what happened, the N-word. The cop wasn't a cop that moment, he grabbed the Dallas fan by the neck and dragged him away. Nuts.

Every fanbase has obnoxious, out of control fans, including the Redskins

Truth....a lot of times at home games I would be embarrassed by some of our fans. Everybody is a jerk, including myself.

Bottom line: if his buddy doesn't escalate the situation as an opposing fan in a hostile environment; the author never has to go through that terrible experience.

If the author just stayed home instead of going to the game, it wouldn't have happened. So, it's clearly the author's fault.

Or, if Cundiff misses that last second FG in Tampa, then the game isn't a big game and the author may not have wanted to attend. So, it's clearly Cundiff's fault.

Or, if the stadium architect had just designed the stadium differently, maybe the author's seats would not have been close enough to the puncher to be punched. So, it's clearly the architect's fault.

Or, how about we just put the blame on the puncher for being an ass?

The author claimed to be a Redskins fan.... and was punched by another Skins fan. Seems to me that something is missing here.

My thoughts exactly. Of course the author and his friends are 100% innocent of all wrongdoing...

This thread has real potential.

Hahahahah! That is classic. Wish someone had that on youtube.

But referred to our colors as Maroon. Zorny, is that you??

Haha, I completely missed that! Well folks, looks like the author may have been an impostor. Definitely a group of Dallas fans, no Skins fan would ever refer to "the fans in maroon..."

Pont taken. Puncher definitely deserved to be arrested, however I pinpointed the moment the Dallas fan started trying to fight the whole section as the moment when things inevitably deteriorated into violence.

As much as I hate the Cowboys it was wrong to throw the hat, and even worse to the Poke fan who kept it going. He should have just collected his hat and walked out as the game was over after that moment. These asshat fans make me wanna puke. Just enjoy the game

When you wear your colors to an opposing stadium, especially in a game of this magnitude, you should expect heckling. Tossing a hat isn't THAT bad.

Not that it's an excuse to start acting a fool yourself, but someone removing the hat from my head and throwing it down to the first row would make me very angry. Especially with all the crap that's on the ground by that point in the game.

It means the author likely got defensive and conveniently left that out of the story. People do not just randomly punch others who have no involvement in a situation without being patently insane.

I hear all this, and I agree. But there is definitely something missing from this story. I sit in the LL, and there is event staff stationed at the top of each section. There is also an usher at the top of each section. There are also PG County Police within shouting distance of each section. They are EVERYWHERE on gameday. There is no way events unfolded as described in the blog.
