Gibbs needs to step down as president...now

After reading the article about Lavar Arrington the rose colored glasses are off. I'm saying it "gibbs needs to just coach". I know these are not the distraction Gibbs thought he was going to endure. To me he should have gotten the title yanked after the MarK Brunell move. Why Joe? Why a 6 foot QB, that was only effective when he could do the "QB sprint right option play". Why Joe? Why are players defecting from our team like Cold War Russians? I mean Trotter took a pay cut to stay with his squad. What's up legend? Why is Lavar crying foul? Why is he not the only one doing so? He let Smoot go, and benched Ramsey. He traded for a player that doesn't fit his system. Then says the reason we weren't able to get going was because we can't get deep. No joe the reason we couldn't get going is the blitz will eat up pass plays that take to long to develope. Joe needs to start worrying about coaching. It's becoming clear diplomacy may not be his strong point.

Well, I can say right now this will make it into the 2005 season review for sure. Of course, so will the other 13 threads asking for Joe to step down.

As for the post that started it all. Let's start off light shall we?

The players leaving. How many have left? How does this compare to other seasons before now? You'd be surprised. Brunell, was at the time, thought to be a good move. May not have worked out but there's that bad signing in every teams season resume. Trotter was actually shown the door. Last season. He was told to go seek a trade. He ended up in Philly without a trade and at a minimum salary. He took a paycut this year because we weren't looking at him? Lavar's been crying foul since last year with his contract. And actually several times before that about a variety of things, ( remember Marvin Lewis?). Smoot and Pierce, ( whom you didn't mention), were given an opportunity to prove how much they wanted to be Redskins. They took the money. And Joe explained his reasoning for that as well. Keep in mind Cap considerations as Joe and the FO may see them.

He benched Ramsey last year because Patrick didn't play as well as Brunell, which isn't saying much. He lost out to the man in open competetion. Now Patrick is the Starter. For now. A player who doesn't fit his system? Which player and what exactly is that system? Careful now, remember, Joe's said he's changing things up.

Oh..and actually. Those plays that take to long to develop? Those would be the deep plays alot of occassions.

What was that? Did I hear a little boobiemouse squeaking?

Why come here boobie? It is for all to see that you are a Redskins hater.

Coach Gibbs is a great team President and sets a fine example for others to follow. He does have a reputation for being socially conservative and it may be that this new generation of pampered and thuggish athletes find it hard to live under the same tent as a man who worked to pass a school prayer amendment, made an anti-abortion video with some NFL players and campaigned against pornography and illegal drug use. He also pushes his players to be active in the local community and encourages them to make positive contributions to society. I don’t see players defecting; I see players that don’t have what it takes to be Redskins running like scalded dogs. That does not mean that you must be an angel to be one of Coach Gibbs Redskins, just see John Riggins, Dexter Manley, and Joe Theismann. There is also a free-agent system that must be worked around.

Coach Gibbs guided the Redskins to four Super Bowls winning three. Before his comeback he had a 67 percent 124-60 regular season record to go along with his 79 percent post season 16-5 record. No Redskins coach in history has ever done as well. When he retired his 140 wins were the 14th best in NFL history, accomplished in just 12 seasons, six seasons less than his 13 counterparts. His all-time win percentage of .683 remains the best among all NFL coaches with more than 125 wins.

Obviously from a football perspective, you can't do much better than Coach Gibbs.

Jeez....people,

Are we that desperate for football news that crap like this is making headlines.

Lavar is upset.....Lavar does this from time to time....I'm upset too . In that we haven't had a winning record since 1999.

I just can't get the Post or ESPN to interview me on how let down I feel from some of these players (Coles stands out in particular).

I think Gibbs and his staff and continuity are the keys to make the skins a better team.

Man, will the draft get here soon.....so I don't have to hear this crap.....

I hate this fire Gibbs crap.........

Lets leave the book open for a year so Gibbs can really put his mark on this team and see a whole season play out. I am okay with what has happened until now. Lavar is not like LC, Trotter, and the rest of the dearly departed. He is the face of the redskins roster whether you all will admit it or not. He is the closest thing we have to a team leader. It is a fine line between being a baby and being passionate. Lavar may have just crossed that line and Gibbs needs to get him back. It was easy to let LC go because he was not the leader Lavar is. If Lavar goes the Coles rought we are in deep trouble. This is Gibbs biggest

challenge yet.

As for you Boobie you are intitled to your oppinion so don't let the folks here at extremegibbs.com put you down.

Hey, I don't know who boobie is, but don't call him a redskins hater because b/c he does not like what Gibbs has done so far, a lot of you guys feel the same may be not to that extreme, so what gibbs explains every week what he is doing, that doesn't mean that you have to agree with it. For example, the moss for coles trade, you can't tell me that everyone agrees with that crappy move. As you can see I don't. You guys can argue all you want about future cap relief, what if we sign moss to deal, it will affect the cap in some way, and what if we don't sign him to an extention, I guess we just rent a receiver for a year. Becasue you are a redskins fan does not mean you have to agree with the coach moves, the front office or lack there of, or even other redskins fans.
