Election 2024 & Presidential Cage Match: Dark Brandon 46 vs Demento Farty 45

Watching the 2007 primary debate in Iowa -- because why not ?  -- notable participants: Senator Fred Thompson, Alan Keyes, Rand Paul, Rudy Giuliani (!), Mitt Romney, Tom Tancredo and Duncan Hunter.

Some thoughts: I guess we killed all the Islamic terrorists.  It would have been nice if more people voted for Rand Paul.  "Getting ourselves off of foreign oil" -- everyone says this.  "Our national debt is a national security issue".  Yes, they all said it was -- but really?  Obviously they didn't care enough about it.   Listening to them talk about the fair tax / flat tax or whatever... "Americans can't understand the tax code".... you dummies!  We all know how it works.

Wow, in 2007 - McCain said global climate change is real and a serious issue.  Giuliani - agreed!  Everyone on the stage agreed global climate change was an issue.  "We are going to invest in ourselves to get off of foreign oil.  We don't want to buy oil from other people".

Wow, Alan Keyes, gave a great soliloquy about being overlooked --- "they represent the elites".  Unfortunately the politicians and audience made him a laughingstock....

Looks like the House GOP is going to move forward with impeachment. Jaime Raskin is going to make them look like the idiots they are.

And so it begins.

Quote

‚ÄúBy contrast, the first MAGA-directed Congress is by far the most reckless and¬†least productive in decades.¬† After holding the American economy hostage by threatening to default on America‚Äôs financial obligations, House Republicans are now eagerly pushing the government to the brink of a shutdown.¬† Instead of working on legislation to promote the common good or even just keep the government running, House Republicans are weaponizing their offices and exploiting congressional power and resources to promote debunked and outlandish conspiracy theories about President Biden.¬† This is a transparent effort to boost Donald Trump‚Äôs campaign by establishing a false moral equivalency between Trump‚ÄĒthe four time-indicted former president now facing 91 federal and state criminal charges, based on a mountain of damning evidence for a shocking range of felonies, including lying to the FBI, endangering national security by illegally keeping classified documents, and conspiring to subvert the U.S. Constitution‚ÄĒand President Biden, against whom there is precisely zero evidence of any wrongdoing whatsoever.¬† To the contrary, Chairman Comer‚Äôs investigation has conclusively¬†disproven¬†the Republican allegations against President Biden.

‚ÄúHouse Republicans constantly insist that they are investigating President Biden, and not his adult son.¬† In that case, we can form an obvious judgment on their investigation:¬† it has been a complete and total bust‚ÄĒan epic flop in the history of congressional investigations.¬† The voluminous evidence they have gathered, including thousands of pages of bank records and suspicious activity reports and hours of testimony from witnesses, overwhelmingly demonstrates no wrongdoing by President Biden and further debunks Republicans‚Äô conspiracy theories.¬† Rather than admit this unavoidable truth about their failed investigation, House Republicans have mischaracterized, cherry-picked, and concealed evidence and recycled¬†long debunked conspiracy theories¬†originally peddled by Rudy Giuliani and Trump, all in humiliating subservience to Donald Trump‚Äôs petulant demand that they impeach President Biden.

‚ÄúIn the face of Republicans‚Äô shameful perversion of congressional power and misuse of taxpayer dollars for this hopeless wild goose chase, Committee Democrats will continue to defend the truth, the rule of law, and the integrity of our Constitution and democratic institutions.‚ÄĚ

Republicans have obtained enormous amounts of evidence as part of their probe.  None of it shows any wrongdoing by President Biden; in fact, the evidence proves the opposite.

And it keeps going on like this for a long, long time.

In large part because too many of our news outlets are telling people what to think instead of why to think about now...to me, that means they aren't news outlets anymore if you tryin to program us instead of inform us...

The "4th branch of the government" has completely failed us and needs an honest review in regards to potential violations of their 1st amendment protections so we can all better tell which is which now...

A lot more people are assholes than we thought.  I mean, after 2016, this should be no surprise.

Trump and Biden are essentially "the same age" as in, Trump will be older than any previous president before Biden on inaugoraton.  The press act like "we are just reporting on two equally sane parties".  Yeah, like Congressional insanity the past decade is normalized.

Don't look forward to that happening, crooked. The media only cares about ratings and clicks. Like or not (and I sure as **** dont), Trump gets clicks from his cultist followers. It's why Fox continues to spew bull**** and lies in Trump's defense. Cause they ****ing know his band of merry ****ing dolts will tune in to eat up the steaming pile of grade A,  grain fed horse**** that they're peddling.

It's ratings and clicks, my man. Not truth or honor.
