So let’s say they cut Rodgers after 2023, take the $24m cap hit. They still need to either sign or franchise Love. And if he does go gangbusters, does he really want to sit for a 4th season? You know, I don’t know. I need to look up the salary cap rules of a retirement. I think if you retire the player gives up the remaining amount of money they haven’t collected, but anything which has been paid and prorated escalates to the current year. Didn’t know him, but we overlapped for a year.
