I picked up the King Oysters at an Asian grocery store on the way home from work. $2.50/lb. I do like me some Seitan, but I wish it had a better nutrient profile for being a vegan option. Pretty much straight-up gluten. Delicious, though.

I love seitan. Watch stash sauce videos and have a ton of vegan cookbooks. Had my own restaurant, too. When we get King Oysters here on island they're about $25 a pound. Dan T.
One thing I don't understand is vegetarians don't want to eat meat... but they buy and make so much food that tries to TASTE like meat. Why?

Why? There's a wide variety of reasons people become vegetarians. Generally from my observation: People who grew up vegetarian: Find the pseudo-meats are disgusting Animal rights vegetarians: Some of them still like the taste of meat and see it as a way to get something similar in what they consider to be a more a humane way Health vegetarians: Same as the animal rights vegetarians-- they get something close without the cholesterol or saturated fat 1
