Flynn's a different case from Lewis. A great deal of his brand appeal came from the fact he was a known womanizer. Also Beverly Aadland's mother kind of pimped her daughter out to Flynn and they probably lied to him about her age. Plus America was still pretty podunk in the 50s. Sixteen year old girls were still pushed as romantic interests in films and not children. That said, Lewis's legacy was definitely tarnished by his behavior. Podunk as the country was, marrying your 13 year old cousin was a bridge too far. He's not nearly as well loved and remembered as his Sun label mates.
