I did attack Biden, I posted the article. Then @Hersh attacked the writer and those who agree with it FOR CRITICIZING Biden’s answer. (And he gave that answer to a black woman)

Again, you aren’t even following.

Hersh disagreeing with your attack on Biden (specifically whether the criticisms are going too far) doesn't mean he doesn't care about those issues.  You might as well call hersh a racist for thinking that attacks on Biden that essentially calls him a racist are going too far (I tend to think you already did, but I don't want to put specific words in your mouth).  There's a distinction between saying that hersh is wrong on this (fair game on a message board) and saying that he doesn't care about racial issues (beyond the pale).

There is just a smidgen of possibility that I have the requisite ability and the inclination to follow a handful of posts, read a fairly short article and still conclude that regardless of what I think about Biden and his answers, your accusation against hersh was absolutely uncalled for.

Bidens answer made me mad uncomfortable, but you're making a mistake trying to shame @Hersh into agreeing with you versus trying to convince him you're right that that was completely unacceptable the answer Biden gave.

That would be fine if @Hersh‘s first reaction wasn’t to say “this is why dems don’t win when they attack front runners.”

It was a nonsense point that attempted to shame the writer and those who agree with him into giving Biden a pass for a God awful answer. We have to stop allowing crap like that.

Except that was HIS FIRST REACTION. From my perspective, your first take or reaction is how you really feel.

There is a huge middle area between Biden needs to drop out and simply not caring about an issue which means giving Biden a pass. Anyone telling Democrats that can beat Trump, who is an existential threat to our country, to drop out is misguided. It's the same logic that led to Trump in the first place. All the Bernie Bros that didn't vote for Hillary for whatever reason while knowing how ****ing awful Trump was is the same as this Biden should drop out stuff. I may not like what candidate X or Y says, but I will tolerate any shortcomings by any Dem that beats Trump. That's all this election is about for me. This election is bigger than any one issue. Those that can't see that, need to open their eyes. Trump must be defeated.

I agree that Trump will get re-elected but only because people tend to vote for the status quo if the economy is doing fairly well.  I can't see Trump eating anyone's lunch in a debate, even if its against a Biden who has lost his fastball.

You can't really debate Trump because there's nothing in his brain.  He doesn't have the intellectual or mental capacity to have a real debate.

Whatever farce of a debate between Trump & Biden; Trump will make Joe look old.  Joe doesn't have the ability to really fight back against the Trump attacks.  He will fumble and bumble and look like an old man, not fit to be president, against Trump.

The best thing for the Dems is to nominate Warren; even though I don't see her winning. She will give the best fight against Trump and maybe have a shot at an upset but with her on the ticket; it really helps down the ticket.

The election is over a year away and people are gaining on Biden in the polls, some have Warren tying or leading him now.  Does that mean we dont question Warren once she's the front runner?  I dont think that's what we should be doing in the primary, not whens theres this many options, wait until the general election to "hold your nose and vote for someone".

Is Joe Walsh a reasonable option because at least hes not Trump, or is that missing the point entirely?  It's too early to say Biden is our only hope, and hes slowly proving why.  If Biden is the nominee, I'll vote for him, but theres no way right now I'd vote for him in the primary.  I held my nose for Hillary, I'm tired of being told to hold my nose and the issues that affect me directly can wait, especially if we lose anyway.

That's true but the 3 leading Democratic contenders: Warren,Sanders, Biden aren't capable of beating him.

Biden is showing he's not mentally up for the job. He's going to look lost and confused, if they debate and responding to the Trump/GOP attack machine.  When people see how weak Biden is, that will turn off many voters and they will probably just stay home.

Warren and Sanders will be ab;e to fight back and they will inspire lots of younger voters.  Their problem, their stances of the issues will cause older voters not to vote for them. So, unless they get 100% of the eligible youth vote to come out; they probably don't have a chance either.

The best thing to happen would be for someone in the lower tiers to rise up and crush Biden and provide the more electable alternative vs. Trump.  Who knows if that happens.

What's your goal here, to convince him that he was wrong or convince other people that he was wrong?  Do you think it's working?

Look, I'm no angel and I'm not a mod, but the post right after that video you posted was a comment on the source and that's why they wouldnt even watch it.  That's what I wished you'd gone after with more articles or videos to make your point how this gaffe shouldnt be swept under the rug like the other ones, now it seems like you and I are probably the only ones that watched it.

For anyone that thinks Biden can win this election without the black turnout Barack got, I got bad news for you.  Blacks have been told to shut up and vote Democrat for decades now, that's the typical reason black republicans give for why they jumped ship. This is not a drill.

I wasn’t trying to convince anyone that he is wrong seeing as how my posting of the article had nothing to do with @Hersh.

The question should instead be pointed at @Hersh and ask him what exactly was the point of his reply. Instead, as usual, the person who is pointing out something that is effed up and at best racially insensitive is attacked on here.

The first reactions after the video posted were to dismiss it because it The Young Turks and Nina Turner. We have to be honest about our fellow posters on here, they were not going to watch that video. On top of that, I don’t think a single poster on here even noticed that terrible reply by Biden in real time.

Edit: except for your post

Older and conservative Democrat black men voters don’t care about any of this.

The problem is Biden isn’t going to win the young black people vote and I have a feeling he will lose black women too.

I've got an idea.  How about letting the thing drop after the 7th repetition of "but, he said . . . "?  And talking about, oh, I don't know, the election?

There is a difference between questioning what people say and question their policies without playing directly into the hands of the GOP like what Castro did at the debate. Generally I don’t want to be in situations where we have to accept a bad candidate for the sake of the country but this is not an ordinary election.

Now im starting to wonder if you even understand what I'm mad about concerning Biden's comment concerning racism since you insist on telling me to let it go, which is completely different then what Castro jumped down his throat about. Keep in mind we could give the right nothing to work with and they'd still call Biden a socialist anyway.

Everybody knows that Biden is losing it.  It won't make a difference. He makes so many mistakes that the attacks don't work on him.

Last I checked, Biden is still at 30% support among Democrats.  Warren and Sanders are wayy down. It is just not changing.

Besides, the polls show Biden beating Trump by more than 10%.  He is the safest pick.  Trump MAY beat the ither candidates.  I mean right now everybody is beating Trump, but the margin is biggest if Biden is the nominee.

If the goal is to beat Trump, Biden is the man.

The rust belt whites seem to like White dudes who are "authentic".  Authentic here means somebody who seems lost.  Trump is the same type.  Just think about it.  What do they mean when they say that Trump speaks his mind?  Build the wall is very simplistic.  The rural whites understand it.  Everybody can see that Biden is making all these gaffes left and right.  Yet, the polls aren't changing.

I feel that Biden will beat Trump by 10%.  Stupidity will cancel stupidity.  What will win is likeability.

I’m not telling y’all to let it go. Be mad all you want. If y’all want to call for Biden to drop out, have at it. If he’s the nominee, don’t vote for him.

I understand why people are mad about his comments. If you think his remarks make him worse than Trump, okay.

I’ve actually never heard anyone say that.

edit: this was the first post I read and was responding entirely to this comment. After reading more of the conversation, I could add a lot of thoughts but I’ll just say that yeah, Biden’s answer to that question was pretty terrible. Independently, my comment above still stands. I think black people have predominantly voted Democrat because they look at the two parties’ policies & positions and are capable of making up their own minds who they prefer to vote for... not because they’re told to shut up and do it and so they just do.

Hmmmm.  Do I vote for the guy who states that the only form of discrimination that actually exists is against white Christian males, and is offended because somebody removed a monument to the Confederacy?  Or the guy who pointed at a known racist as an example of a person who's as far as you can get from himself, to illustrate his willingness to work with anybody, no matter how distasteful they might be?

That’s been the point. You have an increasingly fascist party and a party that is moving right with the fascist party. It’s not had to be said explicitly, but the rebuttal has been, “at least the Dems aren’t fascist,” which is saying ‘shut up and vote for the Dems.’

I thought we had Barack Obama leading the party for 8 years.
