Hello my friends, it is JimmiJo, back for another very exciting NFC East slug-fest. I am joined by my partner Spaceman Spiff and together, we will bring you the goings on.

Last week broke our hearts, with the Redskins losing after pasting 34-points and over 500-yards on the Eagles. Worse still, injuries to keep players such as DeAngelo Hall, gone for the year. This can end up being a key to tonight's game as a resurgent New York Giants and Eli Manning look to take advantage of our loss.

I am predicting a win, provided the offense continues to flourish with Kirk Cousins behind center. Not expecting him to be so prolific this week, especially in the damp conditions, but it's possible.

Stand by for updates. Still early so don't expect inactives anytime soon.

Talk among yourselves...

ANNOUNCEMENT OF INACTIVES

LANDOVER, Md. – The Washington Redskins have announced the following inactives and lineup changes for tonight’s game against the New York Giants:

The Redskins declared the following players as inactive:

o   No. 10 QB Robert Griffin III

o   No. 54 LB Akeem Jordan

o   No. 64 DE Kedric Golston

o   No. 75 NT Robert Thomas

o   No. 77 G Shawn Lauvao

o   No. 86 TE Jordan Reed

o   No. 89 WR Santana Moss

No. 67 Josh LeRibeus is expected to start in place of Lauvao at left guard.

No. 82 Logan Paulsen is expected to start in place of Reed at tight end.

Earlier in the day, the Redskins signed No. 75 NT Robert Thomas from their practice squad to the team’s active roster. Thomas is a 6-foot-3, 325-pound, 23-year-old rookie out of Arkansas.

The Giants declared the following players as inactive:

o   No. 13 WR Odell Beckham Jr.

o   No. 52 LB Jon Beason

o   No. 59 LB Devon Kennard

o   No. 71 T Charles Brown

o   No. 72 DE Kerry Wynn

o   No. 73 T James Brewer

o   No. 96 DT Jay Bromley

No. 35 Quintin Demps is expected to start in place of No. 27 Stevie Brown at free safety.

No. 53 Jameel McClain is expected to start in place of Beason at middle linebacker.

No. 58 Mark Herzlich is expected to start in place of McClain at strongside linebacker

"Every players on their team was better than every player on ours" - Ryan Clark

That about sums it up. Sometimes things go wrong. And sometimes you drive off a cliff and plummet to a horrific death.

The Redskins played as poorly as I've seen in some time. Check that. They played as poorly as I've seen many times. Eagles to start last season anyone? The 12 other losses?

I almost tweeted; "2013 called and wants their Redskins back." That's how bad they looked tonight.

But don’t take my word for it:

·         31 Giant 1st downs compared to 17 for Redskins

·         69% 3rd down efficiency for Giants compared to 13% for Redskins

·         449 yards to 329

·         92 return yards on punts for Giants, 0 for Redskins

·         37:17 time of possession for New York and 22:43 for Washington

·         And of course; 1 turnover for Giants compared to six for Redskins

But it was more than the stats. It was a sense when Kirk Cousins threw four picks in eight passes that the young hurler was badly exposed.

I asked the coach after the game if he ever thought of putting in Colt McCoy. Not because I thought he ever did, or that Colt could even help, but because of how lost Cousins was. It became clear after the third pick he was a quarterback who could do nothing else good for this team. Had he been a pitcher they would have yanked him in the third inning.

I get that it’s just one game. And only his 11th in the league. Still technically a rookie. But how does a guy go from last week to this?

Suffice to say rants about Robert Griffin’s job being in question are done and Griffin’s job is safe (guilty as charged). But that says more about how bad Cousins was rather than how good Griffin has been, doesn't it?

And then there’s the defense. Probably a bigger concern.

Harken back to day 1 of free agency and the overall expectation the team would sign one of the big safeties. Remember your concern when they didn’t? When they landed Jason Hatcher it seemed like the strategy would be to help of the defense by applying pressure in the front.

But since Jacksonville the pressure has disappeared. And now we see when quarterbacks have time how they eat our safeties as snacks.

On the good side it is only week 4 and still plenty of games left. The goal was 2-2 coming out of September but it didn’t happen.

Keep thinking about that and try to forget who they have to play next. Trust me, you’ll feel better.

Sound's up on Soundcloud (Extremeskins). Photos going up now.

Holla at your boy.

• The Redskins and Giants meeting for a 165th time including postseason play. The Giants are the Redskins’ most-played opponent.

Skins are gonna dominate tonight. This is a statement game. I expect our offense to get better every week. Breeland is set to begin his career here in washington as a starter.  This kid is gonna be good. Amerson and Breeland's physicality excites me, but especially in run support. Safeties gonna have to step up in make some plays in the passing game. It would be nice to see Merriweather have a stellar performance. I'll have my fingers crossed. Eli gonna get a case of the butterfingers when hell is raining down on him tonight. Front seven gonna dominate like the last two weeks.
