HogNose
You'd be surprised at the crazy **** we can dream up in the kitchen of an Applebee's at 3 a.m. while wat....ok, that was 20 years ago, but still, half of it ended up on the menu. That bbq chicken pizza was credited to my nutty bar mgr at the time...love ya, Chris. Whoever came up with that Quesadilla Burger was a damn genius. DieselPwr44
1. How many of you that went out and purchased 1+ more boxes of twinkies today are overweight? Never seen so much junk food discrimination in one thread in my life here. No Virginia, not everyone who indulges in a guilty pleasure from time to time is a 450 lb moose. AsburySkinsFan
On ebay this morning, and no this isn't the starting bid, there are about 23 bids currently on this listing. I've got another friend that thinks like you do, and I asked him at what point he thought the workers should stand up and say no, but he's so against unions that he really believes that the workers should take whatever is offered to them. Tyranny of the corporation.

Burgold
Guys, this is simple free market darwisim. Anybody who's been watching Hostess' numbers for a decade knew this is coming. This isn't about unions as much as it is about declining marketshare. The unions are a scapegoat for the most part in this one.
Bang
Disgusting, nasty products.. a more health conscious society.. chemical preservatives from five decades ago.. better competition.. DieselPwr44
Fair, but diabetes is an epidemic in the United States and the obesity rate is way, way too high. So what is next? Outlaw all junk food? There's already a mayor telling his citizens how much soft drink they can purchase and has the nerve to tell resturants how much salt they can cook with. Where does it end? twa
a declining market share means less jobs and lower wages/compensation ....something the union rejected. But they certainly showed them evil corps who's boss

There's already a mayor telling his citizens how much soft drink they can purchase and has the nerve to tell resturants how much salt they can cook with. Where does it end? Personal responsibility would be a good start. People getting upset because others criticize an unhealthy lifestyle yet then want to determine what others do in terms of who can marry or denounce all sorts of other personal freedoms that they want legislated away seems a bit... hypocritical. I agree that Bloomberg seems off base with his health kick. I also think that criticizing an unhealthy diet as being unhealthy is fair. Burgold
Why do liberals always want those that work to pay for those who won't? So, your claim is that the workers don't work? Well, I guess if they're on strike you're technically right Still, kind of an odd argument to make in this thread. Need a different platitude (Wow. A three smiley post. That's terrible.) Burgold
When even the Teamsters tell you that you are a bloodsucking parasite that will kill the host........ Please kill the hostess... don't be sexist. Still, honestly, Hostess was following a poor plan. Their numbers have been dreadful for years and when they emerged from bankrupsy just a few years ago, the situation didn't really turn. You can talk about workers, but it really has more to do with consumer choice.
twa
But Bur, the option to continue was offered and rejected...by the workers Twinkees will live on, just made by someone willing http://www.hostessbrands.com/Closing.aspx The BCTGM in September rejected a last, best and final offer from Hostess Brands designed to lower costs so that the Company could attract new financing and emerge from Chapter 11. Hostess Brands then received Court authority on Oct. 3 to unilaterally impose changes to the BCTGM’s collective bargaining agreements. Hostess Brands is unprofitable under its current cost structure, much of which is determined by union wages and pension costs. The offer to the BCTGM included wage, benefit and work rule concessions but also gave Hostess Brands’ 12 unions a 25 percent ownership stake in the company, representation on its Board of Directors and $100 million in reorganized Hostess Brands’ debt. “We deeply regret the necessity of today’s decision, but we do not have the financial resources to weather an extended nationwide strike,” add anyone know the wages and compensation of the Twinkee worker ants? http://www.thenewamerican.com/reviews/opinion/item/13669-no-more-twinkies-unions-and-the-death-of-hostess
