Sexy Rexy against a depleated New York football Giants defense ... who will come out on top? Only time will tell with this semi-new look Washington Redskins team. They are younger but are they more talented?

(I will update this thread as the picks come in. If you see an official expert pick thread I haven't included let me know.)

thats funny. i clicked around on 'whitifsports.com' and they have beck starting for us when you click "simulate game" on the depth chart. but they have grossman listed under the first page on the stats. wacky.

I've never heard of that site...

I wonder if it was because Beck doesn't have enough stats or game situations to look at depending on what they look at.

If we don't walk away w/ this game then we're nowhere near where we want to or at least think we are as a franchise and team. Giants are injury riddled all over their defense and the offense isn't much better. They don't have a TE and their #3 WR is in flux. We should be able to handle the giants.

Yet they still have to two guys that kill us every year in Bradsahw and Jacobs. If we cant stop them they wont need a 3rd WR. Hopefully we can control the line.

It's just been SO annoying the past month to see so many mainstream analysts talk about/make predictions about the Redskins when they all seem to know so little about them.

But as usual, I guess flying under the radar and having low expectations (around the league anyway) is a good thing.

We have holes and question marks in some very critical areas guys. If Chris, LaRon, & OJ all sit in this game I'm worried. And for Christ sake, Rex does ****ing suck. He has an oline that can't pass block and a c list receiving corp. We need to directly snap the ball to our RBs all game Sunday.

Hail!

Jeez, tell us how you really feel. This is a team that is heads and tails over what was fielded last year and moving in the right direction. Sure Rex isn't the answer long term but he is servicable with more, better targets than we had last year and really in a long time.

This man speaks the truth, from the December game:

B.Jacobs - 8 carries, 103 yards(!), 2 TD

A.Bradshaw - 25 carries, 97 yards, 2 TD

That was one sorry performance by our defense, it would be difficult to play as badly again.

Preseason is over. Sunday the pressure and the verdict will be out for Mr.turnover. He is arguably one of the most inconsistent QBs to ever play the game. I would rather have Tony Banks or Trent Dilfer QB my team than Rex. At least they took care of the ball. The targets we had last year were so bad the average targets can be considered an upgrade but in the grand scheme of things they still are average.

I'm staying cool about Sunday. Watch the forum crash when "the world is ending" because we lost our first game to a team with a super bowl winning QB, great running game, solid oline, solid head coach, solid WR and one of the best Dlines in the NFC.

On my way in, I heard two things from Colin Cowherd during his Hot Picks that made me almost pull over.

1. He picked the Skins over the G-I-Ain'ts, highlighting the G-Men's injuries and offensive personnel departures.

2. But he also said something nice about the Skins. He said the Skins LBs, particularly Fletcher and Rak were the most underrated LBs in the league.

It's not much, but coming from him? That's a lot.

They are going to come out and try to run right at us and then use play action. If our front seven can handle the run we are in business.

All I have to say is if you're picking the Giants to win now... I don't want to hear anything about Giant injuries if the Skins win.

Your going to be disappointed I fear. If we win it will be all about the Giants still not about us from the network talking heads.

Just got a quick glimpse of Countdown during a Redskins/Giants segment, and they had their idiot player-commentator du jour and and idiot never-played-a-game yapping-head du jour and the jock was saying (to paraphrase, quotes aside) "I don't know about Mike Shanahan the QB guru. All I need to know about Shanahan is in the numbers. He was 70% and won two SBs with Elway and has been 54% and 1 -4 in playoffs with other QBs. And that's all I ned to see" What an in-depth well-informed analysis eh? ;) Then yapping white hair head steps in with a "I can't believe they got rid of Jason Campbell" and adds a throw-away brainfart "me-too" comment on the McNabb deal. These guys are such a joke most of the time. It's the same, btw, when they do Seahawks commentary as far as having really solid or meaningful content to offer (I mention the squawks just because that's another team I am exposed to a lot of solid info/coverage on regularly.
