MattFancy
http://sports.yahoo.com/top/news?slug=ys-forbeslosers052710 12. Texas Rangers 11. San Diego Padres 10. Columbus Blue Jackets 9. Atlanta Thrashers 8. Tampa Bay Lightning 7. Tampa Bay Rays 6. Atlanta Falcons 5. Tampa Bay Buccaneers 4. Houston Texans 3. Charlotte Bobcats 2. Los Angeles Clippers 1. Memphis Grizzlies Pretty strange list. Most of them are expansion teams and some like the Rays, Texas, and Falcons have been improving the last few years. MattFancy
wow poor tampa bay! Yeah for real. Everyone think we have it bad haha. All 3 of their teams are in the top 12 most losing teams, that can't be good lol
Kilmer17
And yet in the last decade, their hockey team has won a Stanley Cup, their football team won a SuperBowl and their baseball team won the AL penant and is now the best team in baseball. I'd trade over suckiness for a few years of brilliance every decade. Ask the Marlin fans.
hockeysc23
TB Lighting shouldn't be on that list. They won a cup, have a great core and young exciting players.

Ask the Marlin fans. Which is why this is a weird list. The Texans, Falcons, Rays, Thrashers, Lightning, all appear to be on the upswing. And how does a list of the most-losing teams not include the Pirates or Lions?
deejaydana
As a KC Royals fan I'm amazed they aren't on the list (of course I didn't take the time to click on the link but why punish myself?)
Obibyn23
This list isn't based on just current status obviously. It's taking into account the overall team history into consideration. Thats why teams like the O's and Pirates aren't on here because they have won multiple World Series. However they should definitely be on here for the last decade + of suckiness. MattFancy
What I think is funny, is that over the last 10-15 years most of these teams have been in the playoffs and two of them have won championships.
HailYeah
Lot of people don't know this and so it makes for good trivia. There is only one major sports franchise that has never been to the playoffs in their sport. That team is the Houston Texans.
HailYeah
Contrary to popular belief, the memphis grizzlies have been to the playoffs. The just haven't made much of an impact, to say the least: Memphis Grizzlies Playoff Appearances: 3 Overall Playoff Record: 0-12 NBA Championships: 0 2006 -- lost to Dallas, 4-0, first round 2005 -- lost to Phoenix, 4-0, first round 2004 -- lost to San Antonio, 4-0, first round

HailYeah
Do the Nationals count? The Nationals franchise made the playoffs in 1981 and actually won a series. So, no.

If overall team history is the issue, then the NFL Cardinals should be No. 1 on the list. In fact, they should be the entire list, with maybe the NBA Clippers as an honorable mention. Sticksboi05
What the hell kind of list is this? Tampa Bay has won the Cup and the Superbowl and the Rays made it to the World Series.
ixcuincle
Where are the Phillies? No franchise has lost as many games in MLB history as the Phillies. LOL. Rangers are not a surprise, that franchise as a whole dating back to the Senators has never won a playoff series.
PCS
Behind the numbersIn compiling our list, we measured the win-loss percentage for each active franchise in the NBA, NFL, NHL and MLB; we looked at points-percentage in hockey. This allowed us to compare teams across leagues. We pulled out the worst three teams in each league, then ranked them 1-12. Data was provided by www.pro-football-reference.com/; http://www.baseball-reference.com/; http://www.basketball-reference.com/; and http://www.hockey-reference.com/. We uncovered some interesting tidbits. Tampa, sad to say, is a pro sports loser. Three Tampa teams (baseball’s Rays, football’s Buccaneers and hockey’s Lightning) make our list. Tampa does have two championships (the Bucs in 2002 and the Lightning in 2004). And the Rays made the World Series in 2008 (they lost) and are off to a great start this year. But, historically speaking, these are anomalies. It’s been a tough go for fans in the Bay area. Interesting. "anomalies."
Hubbs
Let's just make it the entire city of Cleveland. The drive, The Fumble, losing the Browns themselves, LeBron's failures, the Indians being more famous for a movie than for their actual play.... The Drive The Shot The Fumble Red Right 88 Cavs suck Indians losing 95 World Series and absolutely choking the 97 World Series Bottle Gate game vs. Jacksonville where the refs screwed them over and thus the fans threw bottles at them; though I don't condone violence over sports those morons got what they deserved, reviewing a play after the next play had already begun. Can't do that.
Mad Hatter
And I thought no team could be worse overall than the Clippers. Interesting list. Luckily for the fans of most of those teams, a lot of those teams are on the way up and/or had recent success.
JimboDaMan
reviewing a play after the next play had already begun. Can't do that.Just so you know, that also happened to our very own Redskins. rincewind
The Pirates just set the record in all of American sports for consecutive losing seasons at 17. And they don't make the list? Huh?
