ljs
http://www.nfl.com/news/story?id=09000d5d8132e8be&template=with-video-with-comments&confirm=true BEREA, Ohio -- LeBron James called Browns receiver Braylon Edwards "childish" for allegedly punching James' friend early Monday morning outside of a Cleveland night club. James said Edwards punched Edward Givens, a friend of James' and a promoter with a Cleveland marketing firm who was working outside the club around 2:30 a.m. EDT. "I've never crossed paths with Braylon before, but it seems like there's a little jealousy going on with Braylon and me and my friends. I have no idea why," James said. "I've never said anything to Braylon at all. But for him to do that is very childish. My friend is 130 pounds. Seriously. It's like hitting one of my kids. It doesn't make sense." James says he was home when the fight occurred, but got a call from Givens telling him about it at 7 a.m. Monday. Browns coach Eric Mangini said he has spoken with Edwards about the alleged fight. The Cleveland Plain Dealer reported that a 28-year-old man accused Edwards of punching him in the face following an argument. The man said Edwards hit him with a closed fist. He said he suffered a black eye and cut and was treated at a hospital. Mangini added his players' personal conduct is important and that he was still gathering information on the incident. Edwards did not catch a pass in Sunday's 23-20 overtime loss to Cincinnati. It was the first time in 62 career games Edwards did not have at least one reception. Heisenberg
Weird, hard to say anything with so little details. Always thought Edwards seemed like a classy guy when I've seen him on TV - but that never means much.

Ghost of
Braylon is embarrassing Maize and Blue. Sure, he could be innocent but there's something incredibly egocentric and grasping about Edwards and his attempts to be a model, be a star all without being more consistent on the field. I think if he were with a better QB, you'd see more from him but that's no excuse for being so up and down. Get your mind on football and being the best you can be and forget the rest. The rest will come if you do these other things.
jnhay
It's pretty smart to get into fistfights when you're an NFL wide receiver.

BigMike21
I have a feeling LeBron's mini-friend was talking a looooot of ish. For all we know he deserved to get punched. I hope he files charges and looks like an extra wimp.
Mickalino
It's pretty smart to get into fistfights when you're an NFL wide receiver. Not if the guy is a frail 130 pounds, which the victim was, according to James. That's the main reason James is so upset, because it's like one of us punching a 7 year old. Destino
Lebron's comments are out of line. What makes him so sure that Braylon even knew who the little guy was and that jealousy had anything to do with it. I'm really sick of the Lebron worship... the guy has thin skin and a massive ego. Too bad it wasn't him that got knocked on his ass... though I guess it saved Nike the trouble of running around and taking any possible video tapes of the event. F Lebron. Dan T.
So, the question must be asked. Any connection between this incident and the Browns shipping Edwards to the Jets? It certainly wasn't the catalyst for the trade, but it might have been a final incident tipping the scales.

To be fair, Lebron's massive ego is not his fault. If ESPN were covering your HIGH SCHOOL games on TV, you and anyone else would have a massive ego.
