Their syrup is cold.

Says the person who doesn't know how to eat IHOP pancakes. Small amounts of syrup on top of the pancakes, not a drenching. Once you cut the pancakes up you can add more to your liking. All the syrup will be absorbed into the fluffy pancakes (which are nice and warm btw).

Pancake Day is always on Shrove Tuesday, the day before Ash Wednesday, the start of Lent. Some people refer to it as "Fat Tuesday." It is a centuries-old traditional holiday.

But then they guilt you into donating money to charity, and if you don't want to look like a skinflint, you end up donating more than the cost of a short stack!

With the exception of blueberry pancakes, I prefer French Toast.

With Shrove Tuesday tomorrow it was perhaps inevitable that an eager scientist would apply their skills to creating the perfect pancake.

Maths expert Dr Ruth Fairclough stepped up to the challenge, unveiling a complex algebra formula to help chefs nail the dish on the day.

The 34-year-old senior lecturer of mathematics and statistics worked out the food formula because her two daughters loved eating pancakes so much.

Dr Ruth, who teaches at Wolverhampton University found that

100 - [10L - 7F + C(k - C) + T(m - T)]/(S - E) created the tastiest snack.

In the complex formula L represents the number of lumps in the batter and C equals its consistency.

The letter F stands for the flipping score, k is the ideal consistency and T is the temperature of the pan.

Ideal temp of pan is represented by m, S is the length of time the batter stands before cooking and E is the length of time the cooked pancake sits before being eaten.

The closer to 100 the result is - the better the pancake.

Wait a minute -- I point out that IHOP has cold syrup, so you conclude I don't know how to eat pancakes?

Dude, that is amazing.

Anyways, this morning this amateur pancake eater stopped at Waffle House in Frederick and had the All Star Special.

The syrup was warm. And the waffle was delicious. :)
