skinsfan07
Very cool article....... http://nfl.fanhouse.com/2008/10/14/obama-campaign-buys-ads-in-madden-gamers-will-see-signs-on-stad/ Barack Obama's presidential campaign has found an interesting new way to reach young voters: Campaign ads in the Madden video game. TheHill.com reports that Obama has purchased space in Madden NFL 09. If you're playing the game on your Xbox you might see an Obama sign in the stands or an Obama billboard outside the stadium. Players will only see the ads if they're playing online in one of the 10 swing states that the campaign is targeting: Colorado, Florida, Iowa, Indiana, Montana, North Carolina, New Mexico, Nevada, Ohio and Wisconsin. The ads started running last week and will be visible until the day before Election Day. In addition to Madden, Obama has bought ads in nine other EA video games: Burnout Paradise, NASCAR 09, NHL 09, NBA Live 08, Need For Speed: Carbon, Need For Speed: ProStreet, NFL Tour, and Skate. DjTj
That's pretty funny. I guess they will make money any way that they can, and Obama has plenty of cash. I think the next step would be for Madden and Al Michaels to start doing stupid plugs like they do on the real Sunday Night Football. Like you would call a timeout and be choosing a play, and Al Michael's would start talking about Christian Slater's new TV show, or Madden would talk about Boom! Tough actin' Tinactin! ...actually, what would be cool is that if you were playing Madden online during Election Day, that Al Michaels would remind you to go out and vote. Cooked Crack
Obama has got so much money, he can put it into video games. McCain though isn't to be underestimated. He's going after the porno vote.

TheDoyler23
What the hell is a video game? But anyway, I don't like ads in a produvt that I've already purchased. The same applies to when they play commercials at movie theaters. Obnoxious.
sleazye
interesting that he isn't going for VA... is his campaign that convinced in "communist country"? and Dave, I don't see how this would be a reason to not vote for anyone- care to elaborate? SkinsBry
McCain though isn't to be underestimated. He's going after the porno vote. Seems kind of odd for the conservative party to be putting ads on porn sites. They were the ones to get their panties in a bunch after Janet Jackson showed a boob that noone could really see. The Sisko
Even if I wasn't going to vote for Obama, I'd have to marvel at the smarts, creativity and ability to think outside the box he and his campaign staff has continually shown throughout this process. If he wins and continues this trend during his term(s) as POTUS, he could end up being one of the great ones.

Rdskn4Lyf21
Nice move by him, but I'm not playing the game until after the election. I don't play video games to get political messages...that's the last thing I'm looking for and want in a game.

Koolblue13
I love Obama's strategy. Thinking outside of the box. Something this country needs Oh yeah. Now all the 13 year olds are going to vote Obama. Barry digs Madden? He has my vote.
ntotoro
Oh yeah. Now all the 13 year olds are going to vote Obama. Only in Illinois or wherever "Tony Romo sits to pee" registered to vote 37 times. The last thing I want to see in a video game is a political ad, especially if I can't get rid of it.
