Burgold
I think it is a testament to our Defensive players that we held the Rams in check to the degree that we did, but make no mistake our D was exploited yesterday. It was beaten and outplayed. Saunders knows our D. He practiced against them for two years. He knows our players strengths and weaknesses. He knows our defensive coaches tendencies. Even with all that, were it not for giving up the ball three times in scoring territory and a bunch of drops. We win, but Saunders knew where and when we were going to blitz. He knew from which angles the pressure was going to come and he was able to neutralize a lot of what we like to do on defense. He knew how our players liked to attack. That's a huge advantage and we all but negated it. If we hadn't played so sloppily on O, if a fieldgoal attempt didn't hit an upright and bounce in, if Kendall had worse hands or better hands... we win. But, Saunders effect was big in this game and he had his revenge. They kicked our rumps yesterday. The Rams were the better, more prepared team, and deserved to win. He couldn't have known to much because the Rams #'s were terrible. The Skins just turned the ball over
ntotoro
The Rams didn't do anything on Offense yesterday. How can you say Saunders had anything to do with the win.
steamroller#99
Isn't that what scouting is for? And film Study? Every team has the same advantage. Anyway, Saunders faced Gregg's defense every week, not Greg's defense.
redskin mark
But we still had a sack and the rams offense never got in the endzone, our defense did their job The kendall turnover changed the whole game.
Burgold
The turnovers were the biggest difference, but only because the Rams are that bad a team. The Rams did better from what the announcers said than at any other game this year. I attribute that to Saunders' knowledge of us. The Rams are a terrible team. They couldn't execute that well, but they negated our pass rush really well and did a decent job running and getting open.
Zhouse
I disagree....other than their 3rd & 13 conversion late in the 4th I don't remember their offense getting the upper hand on us. And even that play could have been prevented if only Leigh looked for the ball.
9_to_42_td
We gave up one pass play at the end or we would have won the game. We beat ourselves
SWFLSkins
We gave up one pass play at the end or we would have won the game. We beat ourselves Saunder's knew that Smoot was out and Torrence was in, he went after Torrence. That is not genius, just common sense.
buenosdiaz
yeah i have to disagree as well the rams had excellent field position all game (aside from the one punt brooks nailed at the beginning) they didnt get in the endzone, our defense pretty much owned them and mistakes on offense killed us. the thing about the turnovers was that they were seemingly at the WORST possible times. Mister Happy
We spotted them 10 free points. 7 on the fumble return and 3 on a shanked punt that gave them the ball in field goal range. Without those gifts, their 200 yards and 3 field goals wouldn't have been close to enough to win the game. In fact, they started 5 drives near midfield or beyond and only scored 2 field goals from them. One of those drives started in field goal range. Uno Mas
You must have been watching the game from an old television, circa 1975 with rabbit ears. Saunders offense did nothing. We beat ourselves, plain and simple.

DWinzit
We all areWe are; Saunders however had nothing to do with it. He and his big play book have seen better days. Glad the REdskins are rid of him just as the Rams will be some day.
nightbird
Were we watching the same game? I saw a terrible Rams offense that failed to get the ball to their best player (Jackson), had Torry Holt running predictable routes that Carlos was all over, threw two interceptions that bounced off of our chests, and ran a bunch of pointless motion that led to penalties and timeouts by their offense. Brought back plenty of memories from the last two years...and not good ones either.
MEANDWARF
The Rams didn't do anything on Offense yesterday. How can you say Saunders had anything to do with the win. Agree. It was our mistakes that lead to their win.
Smoot Point Really
Let's see: Bulger passed for 136 yards (43 of which came on one pass)... Stephen Jackson ran for 79 yards on 22 carries (3.6 yds/carry)... I think some folks watched a different game than I did.
NoCalMike
Ummm, the Rams had 200 TOTAL Yards offense....what exactly was exploited?
Veretax
The only thing Saunders is responsible for is late play calling. Did you not see all those Timeouts they burned early?
