Gregpeck99
Landry has been missing in action all year ... he has never recovered from the Brandon Jacobs' steamrollering.
ArmchairRedskin
Landry has been missing in action all year ... he has never recovered from the Brandon Jacobs' steamrollering. How is it that you come with these nuggets of stupidity every week? I'm thoroughly impressed with your consistency.
jbowman
You don't hear Landry called by name. You hear about Landry when reporters talk about how surprised they were that Philly and Dallas never tried to open it up and throw deep.
Vicious
He's playing like a 7 year veteran...I can't believe he's only in his second year, it's crazy. What is crazy is he went #6 in the draft. Amazing talent and discipline.
Fletch_Lives59
i think everyone is a huge sean homer. No one can honestly say that sean was better in coverage than laron in his second season. laron has been immense. difference between Sean and Landry is that Sean got INT's, Landry doesn't.. There is no way that offenses are more worried about Landry then they were Sean..impossible
Fletch_Lives59
Springs was the only one there before Landry, who was five feet away when TO caught the ball.Springs jumps on his back and slows him down, but Landry's brain explodes and he does absolutely nothing to help stop the touchdown. Check out the screenshot I attached or the NFL films highlights at 6:55 - Shilsu is right about this one. I think Landry will turn out to be a great player, but he's not there yet and I think people are talking him up too much right now. this was already discussed in the Landry is the Heart and Soul of our Defense thread: here is a video of said play.. 2:26 into this video, tell me what he is doing.. http://www.nfl.com/videos?videoId=09000d5d80b33912
JimmyConway
I agree, if I was going to pick a weakness with this team so far it would be pass rush. Hopefully JT will remedy that. Yes, we haven't been able to consistently apply pressure on the QB. We have forced a few turnovers but it's scary how good this unit COULD be if only we can put a bit more pressure on the QB. We're barely bending and not breaking at all. If JT can produce even a few extra QB pressures and sacks we could see this D-fence start to look more like Blache's Bears D. As for Landry, we haven't heard his name much for good reason. He isn't being tested but I'm guessing in the next few weeks his name will be mentioned a lot more. Credit should also be given to the CBs who have played exceptionally well thus far.
skinny21
Looks to me like Landry slowed up 'cause he didn't want to go through Springs to get to TO. That's just my impression. I thought on the Fitzgerald td that Landry had the other side of the field? I'm pretty sure it was blamed on Doughty anyway.
Fury010
The Eagles never went down the field. Lots of Norv Turner like dinks and dunks! They may as well have Brad Johnson as their QB!
IbleedBnG83
They don't want to throw near him...end of story.
Kindred
All I know is that we were missing our top CB and we still didnt miss a beat on coverage.
Hunter_R
difference between Sean and Landry is that Sean got INT's, Landry doesn't.. There is no way that offenses are more worried about Landry then they were Sean..impossible Landry can't get an INT if opposing teams don't throw deep. Sorry, that seems to indicate that they're more worried about Landry.
Skinz4Life12
i dont think its fair to say one way or another at this point who teams are more scared to throw against. bottom line is they wouldn't/don't want to throw near either of them because they both make big plays
jamestrash
good thread, and mostly smart-headed thoughts. It's a really well composed scheme, and Landry does his job. Someone will eventually test him and he'll grab a pick, but otherwise, he's taking care of his assignment. Like Blache said, stats are for losers. zztrainv2
Do you not understand that the Eagles did not go deep once all game? Teams dont even throw at him at this point.
RememberOsaka
Seems like Westbrook's broken ribs were a result of him getting cracked between Landry and Horton...
Gregpeck99
Memo to Armchair: someone has got to keep Homers like you grounded. I elected me. PS: Landry is not having a probowl year ... but CR ... wow ... thats another story.
MumboSauce
He's doing his job. His stats are low but his presence is huge!
NAC386
Ask Desean Jackson where Landry was, I bet he knows since he had 1 catch for 6 yards. He's the SOLE reason teams can't go long on us, it's like...impossible.
eljeasel
Yeah, people dont realize that teams havent completed deep passes on us because Landry (and the rest of the secondary) are playing high high level football. Just cause he isnt in the highlights or filling out the stat sheet doesnt mean he isnt doing itch big. BTW he has 4 passes deflected already. jkalnasy
Landry makes his share of tackles, even if unnoticed. And as stated 100 times before, no successful deep passes = Landry is doing his job.
