terpfan
That's brutal. It seems like not long ago this was such a great story. Stay strong Shawn. My thoughts are with you and your family.

Real Deal
Furthermore I think its pretty classless for someone to comment anonymously to the media that there is "no hope" in the situation. I agree with you on this point. I hope he does make it through. There was a special on him a month or two ago, on I believe HBO, and even though Everson Walls and Ron Springs were Cowboys, it was extremely moving and I totally forgot the fact that I couldn't stand them when they played for the Cowboys and viewed them as great human beings. Everson Walls is extremely selfless and it was great to see him help a close friend like that. Best wishes to his family and friends.
Siven
I doubt its Staph but you have to wonder what went wrong. Ron was a pro athlete and his body probably has more bounce back than someone more than half his age.Furthermore I think its pretty classless for someone to comment anonymously to the media that there is "no hope" in the situation. People said there was no hope Kevin everett would walk again. You can never give up hoping for the best. My friend's dad is an Anesthesiologist, and apparently, there is a extremely small chance that someone might lapse into coma from being anesthized

playboy1972
B Mitch stated that he had heard that there was speculation that the anesthesitics had unplugged his oxygen by mistake and that he had gone without air for 10 minutes. He said someone close to the family told him. He said that most people felt that it was odd for this to happen like this. Either way it is sad, especially if it was a mistake that killed him. God Bless Ron Springs.

God Bless Ron Springs. Jeebus, I hope that's only a rumor. This is very unfortunate. Springs was a premier player in the NFL less than 25 years ago...and now this. Life is something no one should take for granted... The best to his family...
DaveTroll
Hey all, Cowboys fan here, just wanted to send my prayers and thoughts to Shawn Springs and his family. Darc Requiem
Wow I don't know what to say. I lost my father close to four years ago and I'm steal dealing with it. I hope some how, some way that Shawn doesn't have to go through what I went and still am going through.
ArmchairRedskin
It's really a shame if Ron Springs passes away. It was such a great thing that his former teammate helped him out earlier in the year as he did. It's always tough to lose a parent and since it looks so grim at this point, I just wanna say that I hope Shawn stays strong and my heart goes out to him. I was devastated after losing my mom.
