Ignatius J.
Have any of you guys heard his new album? Yes, Yes, I know, the name scares off just about anyone, but if you like traditional pop, a la stevie wonder and to a lesser extent michael jackson, I think it's a must hear. Justin makes a case for being a serious musician with this album in a decidedly unexpected turn of events. I heard the two singles off the album and was sort of impressed, but when I bought the album, I had the chance to hear several other tracks that just blew me away. The producing on the album is phenomenal. JT does okay, but the talent in the album is in the sounds. The live drum sounds have a unique texture that really grooves. I just couldn't believe how much I liked this album. Just wondering if anyone else had liked any of this stuff. This board doesn't seem like the audience for this, but you never know. -DB

NoCalMike
Justin TImberlake's new album is a blatant ripoff of the old Michael Jackson sound. Timberlake, said when he was making it, he had "no idea" it come out sounding like that....ya right. My $$$ goes to musicians/bands that sound good live, because to me, that is where the TALENT is, in the live peformance. From what I have heard of him so far, when he is live, he is about 50 notches below in vocal talent.

TheKurp
You want to hear good music listen to Sean Paul's "Dutty Rock". Then again, if you're not into dancehall reggae you might just prefer to listen to JT instead.

OrangeSkin
I hate the pop stars who suddenly "grow up" after breaking from the oppressive rule of their evil record company. Britney Spears did it, Christina Aguilera did it, and now Justin Timberlake did it. Yeah, I'm sure all of them suddenly woke up, told off the record execs, and took on an entirely different persona. The catch used to be "our fans grow up." Problem solved. Just have your artist grow up with them. The porno business is probably more ethical than the music biz. Ignatius J.
The thing is that Justin Timberlake is basically a pawn. His creative talents are certainly present on the album, but to say that he is responsible for the album is ignoring the talent that goes into these records. The music isn't about JT. It's the producers. And it's the producers who make this album sound great. I'm not a fan of JT the man, I'm a fan of the whole conglomeration that got together and produced the album. I don't give a f#ck about image, and if they think they can sell more albums to little girls by putting shots of JT looking sexy on the cover more power to 'em. I just think that the people behind the music did a damn good job with this album. And I'm not exactly a lightweight in my musical tastes. -DB
