Probably too late to give you advice but in case you are still around. Your '"guest" room idea while it seems like a good idea...be careful. I hope at least one of you has counseling experience esp. in the mental health field. A majority of homeless people are mentally ill. If you don't have experience dealing with mentally ill people, I would say scrap that idea. Same goes for people with addiction problems....simply opening a room to the less fortunate person sounds like a good idea but it can be dangerous if you don't have the proper education/training to know how to handle the individual and the situation. :2cents: Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

China has the largest army in the world, granted. But in terms of manpopwer it equates to 4 million men. It's not only about manpower, it's about logistics. Can you imagine feeding, kitting-out and generally keeping a 200 million man army? The mind boggles. Armies are getting smaller, more specialised. Tanks are not as formidible as they once were considering battle-field life of an MBT (main battle tank) in a modern theatre of war is what...a half hour? You know we've turned away from mass tank brigades now? I'm an ex-soldier... edit: Anyway, I think these prophesies should be taken with a pinch of salt. I'm Christian myself (catholic), but why should we believe the bible and not the Quran? Or even Nostradamus? I'm a realist and if you take everything in the bible literally, you're obviously not. Tell me why the bible fails to mention Dinosaurs? That's right, because it was written by a bunch of ignorant men who never knew what a fossil was. Trying to explain how an army works to someone who's never donned a uniform is difficult. :doh: Ok, most people think you give a soldier a weapon and he miraculously fights...WRONG. You have to feed him 3 times a day. You have to provide facilities where he can wash, sleep and perform his bodily functions. In other words...any army is all about LOGISTICS. Forget the fighting...the most difficult part is keeping your soldiers ALIVE by catering to their needs. Now a 1 million man army is absurdly difficult to keep. A 200 million man army is impossible and will NEVER happen. There is no reason to have 200 million people massed together when a tactical nuke will just cancel out everyone in a 5 mile radius, be it 2,000 or 200 million. Also, you forget that you have to provide WEAPONS and AMMO for 200 million which as I strongly suspect would mean the amount of resources (steel, plastic etc) only Jupiter could provide. I've actually had this dream for awhile, and my door has finally opened so I can live my dream. I'm moving out of my place and into a big house with 3 other Christian room mates, who all have the same goal. - No cable TV, only rented movies and some videogames. - No junk food in the house, only healthy eating. - Working out - Reading/Studying the bible 5 or 6 days a week - No internet - Fasting - Outreach to the community, helping people with all kinds of problems. - Setting up a room for guests, such as the homeless during freezing nights, and helping people get over addictions. My personal goals are to write some screenplays and write a book on how the church could be much more effective. Predicting the death of millions, in the hope that their end occurs, is not preaching. I am not bitter..I am legit. So, you preach the extinction of 1/3 of the world's population.. You, sir, are not preaching. You are intimidating and bullying from your pulpit. Cotton Mather, himself, would take issue your use of scripture. If Revelations is true, let it be true! Preach the hope, preach the promise, preach the future. I am not a Christian...I do not claim to be. But, I know the new testament, I was raised as such. It was preached to me...the right way...and I took value from it. What happened to you that you would quote Revelations? As if you had a single, solitary clue about the end-times! I think the reason why we are here is to live life to the fullest, and then in the end live it with god. Guess I have a different perspective being and alter boy and also understanding it is hard to take something literal when over the years the words were changed due to who was in power. Please be careful when allowing anyone into your homes, there are some out there that will take advantage.
