Taylor Made
Gibbs has said every offseason that he will honor his contract and coach for at least five years. I believe him. He will be here in 2008 as well, there's no doubt in my mind.

stwasm
I would like to see him help develop JC. But, most importantly, I think he wants to correct some of the errors of the past three years. Let's see what happens.
Jofizz
Do people not take him seriously when he says himself that he's here for at least 5 years?
laurent
Breaking news, Gibbs will coach 5 years for the Washington Redskins! Wait, didn't he say that when he started?
skinsngibbs4life
To break it down: We've been very confident all along that Gibbs would return next year. We're qually confident that the Sun will rise tomorrow. oh yeah, all those, "gibbs needs to step down" threads really emphasize that
NewCliche21
oh yeah, all those, "gibbs needs to step down threads really emphasize that Yeah, and all zero of the times that I've said anything like that emphasize my point even more. skinsngibbs4life
Yeah, and all zero of the times that I've said anything like that emphasize my point even more. How so? the word "We've" means more than one person. So how can that statement you said only include you?
emfh2005
Don't rule Snyder out...he could still move Gibbs to a front office position. This will still keep him here but not in a coaching capacity. Also, there will be a casuality or casualites on the staff..someone will be the scapegoat and I wouldn't be suprised if it is either Williams, Saunders, Gray, Bugel, or anybody else. Snyder will keep quiet until he can fully evaluate the coaches pool.
Califan007 The Constipated
Why does it seem as if this "news" is three years old??...
InsaneBoost
What if Snyder fires Gibbs though? He fired Norv when the team was 7-6 Biggest mistake hed ever make, and I could possibly see a riot.
Monte51Coleman
What if Snyder fires Gibbs though? He fired Norv when the team was 7-6 Yeah, there's not much of a difference between the two. Oy vey.
KDawg
No, the Sun rising tomorrow is NOT a fact because it hasn't happened yet. We're just extremely confident that it WILL happen, so we say that we know it. The whole point of the post that you quoted was to give that sort of emphasis to how confident the Redskins faithful have been that he would return next year. In fact, by your logic, it's not a fact that he's returning at all until the '07 season is done, because maybe he'll leave, right? To break it down: We've been very confident all along that Gibbs would return next year. We're qually confident that the Sun will rise tomorrow. I hope that that simplifies things for you! Thank you. Gibbs has said he'd coach all 5 years. We KNEW he would be back. Only way he's not is if his health plummets.
Geoff_K
OR he tells everyone his health is declining .... It doesnt matter much to me either way ... Al calls the O and Gregg calls the D .... sure Gibbs carries a sheet around, but didint he hire them both to do their jobs ? I see front office/off the field in the near future
AJ_Skins
Gibbs has said all along he would stay for the length of his contract. The only thing I want to throw out there is that Charlie Casserly is currently unemployed as far as I know, and he did an OK job working with Gibbs to assemble the '91 Super Bowl squad. Snyder also has said he fired the wrong guy between Casserly and Norv...called him personally to apologize even, I think.
glikster04
gibbs isnt going anywhere. he was going to stay for the full 5 years, and never once did i think he would go back on this. he'll turn this around. he's no dummy
tonyriggins
This team has got to have leadership that only a GM can provide.
REDSKINZ-RIDEORDIE
Honestly, I dont want Gibbs back as head coach. Bring him back as Gm. We need some intensity on the sidelines. I want Bill Cowher type coach. Gibbs be lookin dead on the sidelines. Thatz why we dont play with intensity at times.
NewCliche21
How so? the word "We've" means more than one person. So how can that statement you said only include you? Dude, come on, stop. "We" means I was referring to myself and other people. MYSELF and other people. If I've never said something, and I'm part of the group being referred to, then we couldn't have said it. Either way, you're wrong, Gibbs will be back, and we knew it. End of discussion.
Jett
Instead of listning to sources, take it from the horse's mouth. Gibbs has said all along he will be here for the length of his contract.
Rdskn4Lyf21
Everyone thinking he is the kind of guy to fail at something and call it quits is outta their mind. He won't leave til this team is a true contender and we achieve something.
smithbe
I love Joe but he needs to take the Offense back over. Al Saunders hasn't impressed me! If he can't figure out how to make these overpaid underacheving guys play football, he may decide to quit
BuryYourDuke
I just can't imagine a situation where Gibbs doesn't go out on top. Maybe that's the kid in me that still believes in heroes and legends...

computerclone
I HOPED that he would be back next year just like I HOPED that the Sun would come up this morning and HOPED that when I hit the "Power" button on my computer that it would turn on. lol
