Kidnappers of Fox Journalists Vow to Target Any 'Infidel' Visiting Palestinian Territories enlarge.gifap-image-5495007b-eaf0-4d25-8226-36a2cf111350.jpgA masked Palestinian boy carrying a toy gun attends a rally in support of the Hamas government in Gaza City Friday, Sept. 1, 2006. A strike by civil servants to force the Hamas-led government to pay them long overdue salaries continued in Gaza Friday as part of a broader strike threat by unions linked to the opposition Fatah Party. CAIRO, Egypt -- Palestinian militants who held two Fox News journalists hostage for nearly two weeks threatened in a statement posted online Saturday to abduct non-Muslims visiting the Palestinian territories and kill them unless their demands were met.

The statement, posted in the name of the Holy Jihad Brigades on a Web site frequently used by militants, said the group would kill any hostages it takes unless they converted to Islam, paid a ransom or Muslim prisoners were exchanged for their release.

"Any infidel blood will have no sanctity," the group said in the statement.

It was not possible to verify the authenticity of the statement, which was dated August 27 _ the day militants released American journalist Steve Centanni, 60, and New Zealand cameraman Olaf Wiig, 36. They were seized Aug. 14 in Gaza City.

The militant group had demanded the release of Muslim prisoners held by the United States in exchange for freeing the journalists.

During their captivity, the journalists were forced at gunpoint to declare that they had converted to Islam, Centanni told Fox News after he was released. The group said in its statement that the journalists' declaration saved their lives.

"Nothing but Islam gave their blood sanctity and prevented their slaughter," the group said.

It added, "We are not the sort of people who are fooled ... but only God knows intentions."

Before their release, a video was released in which Wiig delivered an anti-Western speech, his face expressionless and his tone halting.

Palestinian security officials said the name of the group was a front for local militants. They said they had tracked down the kidnappers _ whom they would not identify _ through third parties, but did not say whether the journalists' were freed under a deal.

Several Muslim clerics have issued edicts in the past stating that a visa issued by an Islamic country to a non-Muslim person carries an implicit guarantee of the holder's safety.

One of the most recent fatwas, issued in August by an Egyptian cleric, asserted that the guarantee applies to visiting Israelis in spite of popular anger over Israeli military action in Gaza and Lebanon.

Remember, the Palestinians are simply trying to forge a meaningful peace with Israel

The Arabs indoctrination of children in military fascist brigades is against the UN Charter of Human Rights. Funny, I don't hear too many of the lefties complaining about it

You really are obsessed with what you call "lefties." Rarely do you make a post not referring to them. Seeing as how they don't exist the way you think they do, and if they did you wouldn't listen to them anyway, it really is border-line delusional.

No, he just lacks the intellectual capacity to debate people on true merits and beliefs so he invents straw men in order to mask his own internal conflict with agreeing with many liberal ideologies. It is how hate radio operates, and instead of stating what the true position is, they instead state outlandish beliefs and pass it off as leftists or liberals. It is actually evidence for either an inability admit you are wrong, or lack of any and all reason. For if you believe the hate filled dribble spewed by many like AFC, you have already succumbed to a false reality and reason is not part of your vernacular.

It's just more evidence that the UN is biased and Anti-American and that their existence needs to be removed from US soil. Push that building into the sea during the next three day holiday in NY. Hell...the building needs to be renovated anyway because it's said to be a fire trap.... someone just light a couch on fire in that place the next holiday and let the POS building burn to the ground.

Hmm...The article is about terrorists stating their desire to slaughter non-Muslims and yet AFC is the one spouting "hate filled dribble?" (sic)

Hope those trees don't block your view of the forest. :)

And he has a blatant history of saying things about liberals that are not true. As for me, of course I am opposed to this type of rhetoric and behavior by the Palestines, but why should I come out and say "hey this sucks"? It is the blatantly obvious belief. Yet, the right and people like AFC in general have no shame in placing a false viewpoint on the left. When this is pointed out, of course, the lemmings will use it as evidence to say see he was right, when in fact, it is nothing more then a straw man argument which totally misrepresents not only my beliefs, but the left in general.

I also wonder what people think of the Hezbollah giving cash directly to the people who were bommed by Israel. Do they think that is a good or a bad thing they did? Do they understand why the people support them?

Don;t let the facts get in the way of understanding the argument of my posts now, what was that about a forest again?
