celder
They are saying it is a good thing because Saunders system is built more around speed than power.
FunBunch7
The speed thing could be scary but I worry about durability.
FARAPS
I'm sure he will be alright..Gibbs and Co. wouldn't make Portis lose the weight if they didn't factor in all the consequences
celder
The speed thing could be scary but I worry about durability. He was pretty durable at that weight in 2004. And that was strictly running in the trenches.
DWinzit
I worry about the shoulders at any weight, especially when lighter!!!
CPstretch
home run hitttta
H-O-G
I'm happy to see him drop the weight, I remember last year a lot of us (including me) were concerned about how good portis would do at 220 (speed wise). I am glad to see his is down to his weight that he was at in Denver.
GibbsFactor
Holmes, eat your heart out! Will anyone be dissappointed if he doesn't put up Faulk/Holmes/Johnson numbers? I'm expecting it but won't worry too much if he doesn't.
skinfan2k
expect him to return to the form when he was in denver.. 4.9 average

TaylorPickSix
Portis already had that elusiveness to get around and past people, now hes just gonna blow by them. Works for me
ArmchairRedskin
Wasn't Portis like at 205 when he left Denver?
Skins4481
Wasn't Portis like at 205 when he left Denver? Thats what I thought also. Personally I'm glad that he lost the weight. He is naturally a speedy guy. Gaining that weight and power rushing was really taking a toll on his body.
celder
expect him to return to the form when he was in denver.. 4.9 average According to Portis he is gonna average 10 yards a carry.
JimmyWilliamsFanClub
I hope this weight loss thing is good... Before last season he had put on 20 pounds...him getting smaller doesn't seem like the benefits would outway the costs...But Hey, Im not CP and Im not Joe Gibbs. jrockster21
expect him to return to the form when he was in denver.. 4.9 average Portis averaged 5.5 yards per carry in Denver.
@DCGoldPants
#1. I wouldn't trust what any site, even Skins.com says about a players weight right now. #2. I think Betts is more suited to be the RB up the middle. So, even if this were true. Maybe Saunders wants Portis alittle slimmer.
skinfan2k
Portis averaged 5.5 yards per carry in Denver. do u argue with everything i say ? i hope 4.9 is the minimum that cp does this year
grhqofb5
You've got to respect a player who has that degree of control over his playing weight... Last year coaches wanted him to put on 15 lbs and he did, now they ask him to take it off and its done.
Oldskool
The speed thing could be scary but I worry about durability. Don't worry about the durability. Holmes played at about the same weight when he was the man in KC under Saunders. Besides with Saunders spread offense, he wont be pounding in between tackles and guards. He will see alot more daylight.
authentic
This is why Betts will be more valued than ever. I can see him taking alot of the pressure off of CP, to keep him fresh going into the playoffs. Prediction? CP= 1450yds LB= 700yrds

I see him between 400-500 yards and CP over 1500.
