The survey says what?

Sexual-orientation questions cause stir at Port high school

By TOM KERTSCHER

How does the principal not and it still happens?

And I may be sheltered but I am fairly sure that just because I've never gone down on a guy, doesn't mean I'm not fairly sure I think is ******* nasty.

Sometimes ignorance is bliss...

Now woman on woman.... I'll give you that, but that's more art than sex per-say... so its a side argument...

This is ****ed up. My manifesto would solve this problem.

The Riggo Manifesto

1. Self-evident truth number one: Americans are physically, mentally,

educationally, spiritually and morally superior to all other people who have

ever lived.

2. It is the right and duty of America to secure, by purchase or bargaining if

possible, but by force, if necessary, all those natural resources needed

for the well-being of its people, regardless of where in the world such

resources are found.

3. The basic right of all Americans is that of equal opportunity. There is no

justification, whatsoever, for the state to favor any American on the

basis of race, religion, or national origin.

4. Slavery and de jure segregation have been made illegal. Since there is no

legal discrimination on the basis of race, there should be no affirmative

action. Jobs, contracts and school admissions should, under no

circumstances, consider race, religion or nationality.

5. Homosexuality is an unnatural and sickening perversion which does not

lead to procreation. The state is free to criminalize and prosecute those

who violate the laws against sodomy and crime against nature. Society

can freely prohibit those sickening acts which degrade the public

morality.

6. George W. Bush is a traitor. He sold America to the oil tycoons and to

the Jew.

7. Education is a privilege, not a right. The best way to compare students

is by standardized tests. I.Q. tests test for intelligence. Achievement

tests measure achievement. Classroom tests measure recent learning.

Those who object to such testing are stupid, ignorant, or both.

8. All economic decisions should be made by the marketplace, regardless of

whether the market is perfect, oligarchic, or monopolized. Every single

governmental intrusion is an infringment on the free market.

9. Welfare is the ultimate interference with the free market. Those who do

not produce are, nevertheless, rewarded with the goodies of society.

Such leeches should be cut off from the public fisc and told to work or

starve.

I'm wondering where these teachers got their marching orders to engage in sensitivity training. Students don't have any rights anymore in the country because they gave them up like the sheep they are. When I was in high school we would have told the teachers to shove their questionaire wherever it pleased them most.

grumpy old fart.

You can't say neither is o.k. but the "context" is o.k.
I didn’t say that. I did say that the context changes the apparent aim of posing the question in the first place.
It's not o.k. period... This is high school so asking either is not o.k...

Discussing it during a full class day makes it worse...

Not having permission from the administration makes it fireable.

Not having permission from the parents makes it the norm... and is sad...

Where the hell has anyone argued otherwise? Point it out. I’ve said over and over again that I didn’t agree with this being done in school.
Its not different than talking about fat chicks, black chicks, korean chicks, turkish chicks.. That question will shock anyone that doesnt like it...
I don’t even know wtf you are talking about here.
I did try sushi against my better judgement and found it tasted like uncooked fish... I'm going to trust my gut on the gay sex question....
Are you really having so difficult a time understanding this – my point was precisely that this question in context was *NOT* the same as the sushi one.
I'm almost positive other questions posed to male on male sex is much worse than "if you havent tried sex with a woman how do you know"....
I’m not sure what claiming that there are worse questions proves. There are few instances where you couldn’t think up something “worse”.

I am in total agreement with Destino. While I also don't agree it is not anywhere near appropriate, putting it in context does lend one more to the idea of what they're trying to do, which I think is to get the students to think outside of themselves, try to understand the differences between people, maybe develop a little tolerance.

I think in no way are they trying to push a gay agenda or encouraging kids to try gay sex.

In fact, other than the subject matter being taboo to so many people, it's a good question for intellectual debate, which should be encouraged in people that age.

And frankly, while think it's inappropriate because of the sensitivity surrounding the issue, I think high school kids can handle this topic. They aren't really kids any more that need to be sheltered. If a 16 year old can't handle discussions about sexuality, he's behind.

>edit< in reading Judges' thread below, I agree, 14 yr olds are a bit young, I'd say 16 is old enough.

If my high school aged son had a paper in which he and hundreds of other students were asked that question, I wouldn't have a problem with it.

This thread title is a little misleading. Makes you think this was a school questionaire that the school made to give to all it's students. Turns out the questionaire was created by students in a student organization that was given permission by two teachers to ask other students about homosexuality on the eve of a day of tolerence. They were in Social studies and Communications classes so homosexuality and the discussion therein are not irrelevent.

These kids are 14 to 18 years old. IMO this question is a little racy for a 14 year old but not too explicit for a 17 or 18 year old. Homosexuality is a fact of life, seems like some people are trying to shield their children from this reality. 10-20 million Americans are gay, approximately 6% of the population, at what point will you allow your children to acknowledge it?

1. Self-evident truth number one: Americans are physically, mentally,

educationally, spiritually and morally superior to all other people who have

ever lived.

Think that's self evident to all those people we blow up or all the countries that have better school rankings than us?

2. It is the right and duty of America to secure, by purchase or bargaining if

possible, but by force, if necessary, all those natural resources needed

for the well-being of its people, regardless of where in the world such

resources are found.

You have something, we needed, we'll blow you up. Sounds morally superior. Okay, next.

3. The basic right of all Americans is that of equal opportunity. There is no

justification, whatsoever, for the state to favor any American on the

basis of race, religion, or national origin.

5. Hom0sexuality is an unnatural and sickening prversion which does not

lead to procreation. The state is free to criminalize and prosecute those

who violate the laws against sod0my and crime against nature. Society

can freely prohibit those sickening acts which degrade the public

morality.

I'll let you figure out the condradiction in these two. You were well educated, as you're an American, so i'm sure you can do it.

6. George W. Bush is a traitor. He sold America to the oil tycoons and to

the Jew.

In my country, we have a problem.

7. Education is a privilege, not a right. The best way to compare students

is by standardized tests. I.Q. tests test for intelligence. Achievement

tests measure achievement. Classroom tests measure recent learning.

Those who object to such testing are stupid, ignorant, or both.

Okay, going by your standards - maybe you didn't get said education and i should go back and point out the condradiction

8. All economic decisions should be made by the marketplace, regardless of

whether the market is perfect, oligarchic, or monopolized. Every single

9. Welfare is the ultimate interference with the free market. Those who do

Agreed very much. You can't catch "the gay", it's not a disease, and your kid is not going to be gay unless he's well, gay. He's not going to be convinced he's gay or suddenly say "I think I'll try buttsex tonight" because of something he heard or read. It is a good intellectual debate and could do a lot towards getting kids to think about others and how the way they act affects other people. I know it's not going to happen anytime soon but I look forward to a day when gay people aren't talked about, thought about or treated any differently than the rest of us. :2cents:

What about this one Rince?
1. Abolition of property in land and application of all rents of land to public purposes.

2. A heavy progressive or graduated income tax.

3. Abolition of all rights of inheritance.

4. Confiscation of the property of all emigrants and rebels.

5. Centralisation of credit in the banks of the state, by means of a national bank with State capital and an exclusive monopoly.

6. Centralisation of the means of communication and transport in the hands of the State.

7. Extension of factories and instruments of production owned by the State; the bringing into cultivation of waste-lands, and the improvement of the soil generally in accordance with a common plan.

8. Equal liability of all to work. Establishment of industrial armies, especially for agriculture.

9. Combination of agriculture with manufacturing industries; gradual abolition of all the distinction between town and country by a more equable distribution of the populace over the country.

10. Free education for all children in public schools. Abolition of children’s factory labour in its present form. Combination of education with industrial production, &c, &c.

Better a communist than a righteous, pompus, gloating bigot. (not you, the other guy). :)

edit: i forgot homophobic.

Also, why is it 'the Jew', and not the JewS? Is there one kosher dude sitting in a temple somewhere eating matza balls controlling oil, hollywood, and now America? Is is Jackie Mason?
