inmate running the asylum
McIntosh is a good player but giving up our 53rd (2nd) next years 2nd and a 6th. Way, way too much. The Skins could have waited and got a good player at #53 and then if they traded next years 2nd, they could have gotten another good player.
Stew
He wouldnt have been there almost 20 picks later, we made our move because it is who G. Williams wanted, and he didnt want to wait any longer to get him. We must have heard of another interested team. We did good.

Skins4481
Jimmy Williams was supposed to be a TOP 10 pick. I would like to know from VA Tech fans, what are his supposed 'issues' exactly?(Other than him being full of himself).
ArmchairRedskin
Wait a minute! You guys gave up your 53rd to go 35 and give up a 6th and next years second for a guy who lost his starting OLB position last year?  You can laugh all you want, the fact remains that our defense was top ten 2 years in a row and Gregg Williams knows what kind of players work in his system. We'll see if you laugh after we beat you again twice this season.

Manasseh
WOW! I am really impressed with some of you who have such superior knowledge compared to the rest of the Redskins front office. I mean, I wish our front office knew that McIntosh would be there at #53 like many of you apparently do. Who cares that both of the previous picks were linebackers? I'm sure no other team would have taken one if they knew that was what we wanted.
jschlesi
Man, I'd like to see what the Patriots gave up for a similar move. No matter, they got someone we thought they'd have to take in the first. Skins were not about to take another Gator at WR....
shippy1973
Settle down guys.. Let's remember that Joe gave up a 2nd rounder for a 3rd and grabbed Chris Cooley. That turned out pretty good didn't it?? Let's give them the benefit of the doubt.... for now
SkinsTillIDie
The Patriots gave up the exact same in terms of value as us. They gave a 2nd rounder (52) and their third rounder to move up. Because we did not have a third rounder, we gave up next year's second rounder, which has the same value.
Fred288156
Wow Pats make almost the same trade for this years 2nd and 3rd...Our GM is one tough as nails negotiator! Wait...we don't have a GM...
SkinsNeverDie
If Richard Marshall drops to 53 that would suck, this guy is an awesome CB.

SkinsTillIDie
Also... we own the Jets. Every move we make with them looks bad from the outside, but our staff seems to always make the right decision in the long run. We should have all learned by now not to judge Joe Gibbs to quickly, or really question his long-term decisions.

method man
I'm fine with this pick. I think he is going to be developed by Williams and will be inserted into the starting lineup later in the season. From what I've read, he is an all-around linebacker, whose big weakness is fighting off blockers. With some work in the weight room, he will become strong enough to contribute later in the season. He is probably a special teamer at this point. I'm not sure Jimmy Williams is a Joe Gibbs type of guy. A bit too ****y if you ask me.

Luca Brasi
Hmmm...on which side of the argument should I stand. With the coaches, scounts, and front office who have been evaluating players and film for months- or, the message board experts who have watched maybe 30 seconds worth of highlights on espn. This is a tough one.

Fred288156
Skins were not about to take another Gator at WR.... Yeah, you misunderstood me there. Remember we were all saying Patriots should take Jackson or Holmes with their 1st rounder.
