wilbur58z
...according to Joe Gibbs on NBC 4 Sports, which might explain his performance on Thursday night. Gibbs said he just learned this and didn't know about it Thursday. George Michael also noted that Brown gives much of his paycheck to his family, which I took to mean his extended family. He wished Antonio well and said he was a good guy...
Sweet Sassy Molassy
Best of luck to Brown's mom. I can definitely understand why his head may not have been in the game. Hope all is well with him.
Buddha
Well that might explain why he appeared to be praying on the bench with Thrash after his last drop.

RVAbrendan
Poor kid. I hope his mother ends up doing better. If he found out about this thursday, it's definately understandable that he wouldn't have been all there in the game.
Gallen5862
Get well wishes to his Mom. This would explain the reason for the Prayer.
Joncevensen
jeez, that definitely explains his game, not many players would have even played in that situation

wilbur58z
Yeah the prayer with Thrash on the sideline was odd to me when I saw it. That would suggest something pretty intense was going on with Brown, which evidently there was...
jtyler42
Best wishes to his mother... Like George said on NBC Brown is a good player and we all know it so that one poor performance didnt change anything w/me...

DjKam1
A couple of times he looked absolutely shocked, I was thinking that he is very passionate about his game, but clearly there were more important things on his mind. God bless him and his family, I watched the News 4 report and I love George Michael.

Thiebear
I wish her well, And wish in the regular season he share this with the coach so Gibbs would know to pull him and let someone in that is focus'd.
Grumpy Vet
Until I find out specifics, the sig stays....for all we know - his mother was rushed to the hospital Thursday b/c she was late for work as a nurse or brain surgeon. If she was sick - hope she's better. Maybe she's a psychic and had a premonition about AB's game on Thursday - that would make anyone ill.
scruffylookin
I wish A Brown and his mom all the best. I was hard on him during the game, but that is a legitimate excuse for why his head wasn't in the game. In retrospect I wish he was excused from the game and go be with his mom. In any event, I hope all is well, the preseason is behind us and I hope A. Brown can make some big returns this Sunday.
Gallen5862
He was probably afraid that if he didn't play he might not make the team. I hope everything is alright with his mom.
MONTEY
I did post in another thread that he probally had something on his mind. I wish his Mom and family members well. :helmet:
sknsgirl
In retrospect I wish he was excused from the game and go be with his mom. Although you never know how someone's going to react in a situation like that. (Think of Brett Favre.) Sometimes playing can help take your mind off things. But now we know with him specifically that that wasn't the case. I wish him and his family all the best.
red zone
After enduring a night like that, it'd be fitting for AB to be a hero a time or two this year! Best to his mom. Go Mountaineers!
authentic
i feel bad for railing him about those drops, its perfectly understandable that he wasn't focused. It was a brave move to even play that day. I pray that his mother's condition improves.
