  1. Yeah, I see the high grades for both tackles as a real head scratcher. I recall more than one occasion where both of our tackles were beaten like a drum on the same snap in the first half.
  2. Maybe Holcomb escapes criticism because he’s basically invisible out there. 🤔
  3. I dunno man, Fuller and WJ3 instill zero confidence in me that they can keep up with Philly’s wideouts. I also see backbreaking 3rd downs being converted by Hurts’ legs. Goff is basically a statue and we still couldn’t sniff him, and make him hear footsteps.
  4. Eagles 38 Ders 27 Well, nobody can say you aren’t glass half full. 🤣 It’s hard to even dream up a scenario like that.
  5. Why would you assume that? I assume the whole group is a package deal. Ultimately, Ron is the one who hired Mayhew, not Dan.
  6. The Marvin Lewis comparison is a good one. I’ve thought all along that no matter how things are going, Ron is here for the entirety of his contract, at minimum. I mentioned this in another thread, but whenever the time comes - the next head coach will be someone connected to Gibbs. It’s all Dan has left. He no longer has Bruce to navigate the league waters. Dan has no legitimate idea how to structure his organization or where to look for help to do so. The only dude that comes to mind is Dan Quinn. He may land a new HC gig here soon if the Dallas D keeps performing.
  7. I for one, am surprised, that Ron hasn’t provided a detailed action plan to the press about how he’s aggressively working to solve the defenses problems. If only he did that, I would like him.
  8. If and basically when JDR can’t scheme up anything to stop the Eagles, that will be enough for me to solidify that he needs to go. Not because anyone behind him is ready to do better, but because a statement needs to be made. I’m aware of the talent deficit, but he’s doing nothing to mask it. They are playing about as poorly as they can possibly play as it really can’t get much worse. I’m not asking the guy to turn poop to ice cream, but at least mask the stench of the poop.
  9. If you are facing the scenario of Taylor Heineke or Mitch Trubisky being your starter, you are up ****s creek without a paddle. Which is what we were looking at until Ron pulled the trigger for Wentz. I don’t think anyone here ever really wanted Trubisky. But beggars can’t be choosers and I think most would have preferred to see if Trubisky had figured anything out vs. go with Heineke again. By no means though do I recall anyone being an actual believer that Trubisky figured anything out. Just that if you’re in the depths of the QB clearance bargain bin, Trubisky at least has the physical traits necessary to play the game - so he would get chosen over a guy like TH.
  10. Lol we are talking about the same jack del rio that coached a top 5 defense on 2020? Do you recall the QBs this team faced in 2020? The 2020 defense was a mirage. The defense could use an injection of talent. But JDR has done himself no favors with what he does have.
  11. I just find it really odd that a coach wouldn’t want to spend every penny to get the best possible roster they can. It’s possible he could have financial restrictions, and/or that players he targeted chose other teams, or <insert any other reason here>. I don’t put a whole lot of stock into coachspeak. I don’t expect him to publicly say his linebackers are so-so.
  12. I should have known when you were clamoring for Heineke in the 2nd quarter and telling people they don’t understand football, that you just had to be the kind of dude to take offense to that post. 😭
  13. Wentz had some stuff he wishes he could have back, like every other QB that played today. I saw some folks in the gameday thread screaming at him to let it go, but it’s kind of hard when both your tackles are getting whooped nearly every snap. IMO, without him we lose by 30-40 today.
  14. Today was a bad day for Rivera, no doubt about it. Easily his worst performance as head coach since he’s been here. All 3 phases had zero juice in the first half. The unnecessary two point attempt. Zero urgency approaching the 2MW. Joey Slye’s inability to make XP. That said, I wouldn’t take issue with him firing JDR, with that unnecessary all out blitz being the nail in his coffin.
  15. Ron deserved that for allowing Slye to feel no pressure all offseason, and for that stupid 2 point special. I’ve taken some bullets for Ron, but today was a very bad day for him.
  16. So it’s halftime week 2, and we’re already at the point where people that clearly don’t understand football are telling everyone else that they don’t understand football.
  17. Ford Field fitting in with the rest of Detroit, this is a crime scene.
  18. Had both our tackles not got their ass whipped, he could have gotten rid of it.
  19. I 99% of the time feel like these posts are BS, and that folks get ability and effort confused. But I have to agree today, this team has looked plodding, slow and uninspired in all 3 phases.
  20. Wasn’t WJ3 a PFF hall of famer? We spend the money on him and he turns into Ade Jimoh.
  21. Part of me wants to say, we are only down 5 - the Lions can’t possibly keep showing up down after down. But I dunno…
  22. This is not the Scott Turner of last week. I told my son the moment after the IG, that if we’re being boring, we’ll run it up the middle for 4 or 5, screen on third to get several short of the sticks. And that’s exactly what he did.
