  1. Please don’t confuse my response with excusing Ron’s football team the last two weeks. It’s not that they’ve lost, it’s how they’ve lost. Absolutely dreadful. I’ve got no excuses for how they can possibly go to work all week and drum up game plans like they have, and then be too stubborn to move away from them. And then today, him not immediately challenging that sideline pass early on, that was coaching malpractice in my mind. All of that kind of comes back to my original point though. I just don’t think you’ll get anyones best when wearing so many hats. I have so little juice for this team at this time, that I really don’t care if Ron gets fired. I just won’t have any juice no matter who he’s replaced with. I’m convinced the only thing that can bring the fire back for me is Dan being ousted from ownership.
  2. That actually points back to Snyder though. This whole scenario with Ron having carte blanche that is. How often does this ever work? The only reason why we’ve even been accepting of it is because of where we’ve been before. We needed a responsible adult to reshape the culture in Ashburn, and that’s what we got with Ron. But allowing him to hire folks who should be his boss, all the while trying to be a head coach of the football team, is never going to be optimal. But for us as fans, it’s like “eh, okay, at least he’s respectable as a human being” only because that’s not a guarantee here because our owner is an inept, classless oaf.
  3. For all of Scott’s creativity, it’s absolutely mind boggling that he spent all week coming up with this script, with absolutely zero answers for if and when the Eagles pin their ears back and attack the LOS.
  4. Our guys just live on the other side of the highlight reel.
  5. This team just refuses to be fun to watch. They give you a taste, in different varieties, but always revert back to the unwatchable, “why do I waste 3.5 hours watching this?” level of football. Different parts, same results.
  6. Heineke would be moxieing it up, with his hair on fire. Duh.
  7. I’m just calling it like I see it. I’ve been all in on Wentz since the signing. Im aware the OL has been trash, and Turner is calling slow developing plays while the Eagles DL is ravenous. Please don’t mistake me assigning some blame to Wentz to mean I think Heineke would be better or anything of that nature. 😄
  8. It started as the OL for sure, hard for Wentz to step up into a pocket that doesn’t exist or scramble when multiple OL are getting whipped. But the 3rd down sack, and his following fumble were simply on him. He looks like a deer in headlights and Turner isnt doing him or the OL any favors.
  9. Oh, and yeah - Ron should be charged with coaching malpractice for not immediately launching that challenge flag. Not for one second did I think that was a catch.
  10. Okay, I’m now all out on Wentz. Everything bad that was ever said about him is true.
  11. It’s almost like you think you can speak that you “know what you’re looking at” into existence.
  12. Remember when people would post that they were glad Trent was gone and how great it was to replace him with Leno? 😭
  13. Where exactly was he supposed to go? There was nowhere to throw it or escape. Eerily similar to last week where multiple OL lost and the only option was to take the sack.
  14. I envision Carson being loudly booed at home due to the flock of Eagles fans that will inevitably take over the joint.
  15. You seem to have trouble with pretty much everything. But besides that, what is the point of even discussing it, if it’s not possible he can do that?
  16. That’s cute that you think he’s capable of identifying the best candidate. I’m not sure how many more times I can spell this out: A. Dan’s only counsel with any connection to football is Joe Gibbs. He literally has zero connections to anyone in touch with modern football - from how an org should be structured, who should hire who, what to look for in GM and coaching candidates, etc. B. I must reiterate, he has absolutely no idea what he’s doing nor does he have any personal connections to anyone who does. C. The “coach centric” model is a combination of two things: what any HC worth his salt would require to take the gig here and the way it MUST be because Dan again doesn’t know how to manage and lead a pro football org. He has no choice but to pay someone else to do that and in this model, the head coach wears a dozen hats.
  17. Rivera is certainly not my first choice for head coach, but it’s not that simple here. Here, you have to be the figurehead of the entire franchise, structure the organization, hire your front office, deal with the perpetual drama machine, and oh yeah…coach the football team. Which is why I believe anybody they hire, no matter how awesome they seem, will enter the reverse car wash and leave the same way everyone else does.
  18. I stand by my previous post. That said, you mention McDaniel - a first time HC from the Shanahan tree. First of all, buddy is 2 games into his career as HC and he “appears more prepared and competent” is an incredibly subjective take on a guy for which you don’t even know his name. But besides that, would he have accepted a gig here, with Kyle as his counsel? Would he be able to handle the infinite non football and football related drama that exists here? Sure, there was Ross’s drama but it pales in comparison to congressional hearings. As a betting man, I wouldn’t bet on a relatively obscure first time HC to succeed here. In fact, I’d bet he would certainly appear less prepared and competent than he’s capable of.
  19. St. Brown has a well noted chip on his shoulder, he can recite the name of every WR drafted ahead of him right off the top of the head.
  20. You realize who “Washington” is right? Often times, in the head coach bashing threads, it’s like our fans forget who they are fans of or worse, live in a delusional state where it’s not as bad as it actually is. Washington is Dan Snyder with a smidge of Tanya. That’s who you are looking at to structure the organization for success. Bruce was his security blanket and connection to the league. All he has left for counsel is Joe Gibbs who is going on 2 decades out of the sport. Dan had no choice but to give Rivera carte blanche just to lure him here. But beyond that, he had to do it because he literally has zero idea of how to structure and manage a pro football team. At some point you guys need to learn to grade folks on a curve and act accordingly or just do yourself a favor and actually move on. The constant clamoring for some new great leader to cure the 2+ decades of ills is not only unhealthy but simply unrealistic.
  21. I think you knew exactly what he meant and just had the itch to argue. I’ve never seen anyone suggest that there are no better coaches than Ron. We are way past the point of needing to qualify statements like that with *Dan Snyder.
  22. Wasn’t WJ3 a PFF Hall of Famer the season prior to us bringing him on? He’s been absolutely dreadful since he’s been here. He gravitated quickly to the Washington way of cornerbacks celebrating when the QB throws a bad pass or receiver drops the ball, after getting completely burnt.
