Fun fact time. I used to teach about this in radiation safety class.

How did they get it out? Before I joined the Navy, I worked at a transmission shop and was grinding on a metal plate without wearing safety glasses. A sliver of metal got in my eye and I figured I would wait it out and it would work itself out. I was wrong. A few days later my eye started getting red and painful. Turned out the metal sliver had started to rust in my eye. They had to use some little robert arm with a drill bit thing to go clean it all out. Amd you are awake and can see while it is happening. Really creepy. Wear your PPE everyone.

Maybe I should have been more specific. How were former presidents referred to in more dignified settings before anyone cared about it? I've found plenty of articles with both.

Honest question, how are the other formers referred to as? I never put enough thought into it to notice.

The policy's position seems to be that she should have considered the curfew when she ordered. I'm sure they were told the curfew would be strictly enforced.

I guess this thread title fits? 😂 Spent most of the day with my mom. We don't talk a lot and have a somewhat strained relationship. I've done my best to keep my mom in the dark about my physical and mental condition and Buzzette keeps telling me I need to level set with her. And because everything in my family is a competition, my mom felt the need to out-trauma-dump me. *sidenote: Why the **** did you send us there to be babysat then?!?!?

When I was young and single, I'd beg to deploy any time I could. Someone on det got hurt? I can have my bags packed in an hour. Guy's wife is pregnant? I'll take his spot! I stopped counting a country as "visited" unless I had been there for 24 hours just to keep it simple. I had a blast though.

I recommend retiring at 40. I've been a fan so far.

No. That's probably worse. At least the Boeing employee knows the systems and where to look (if they choose to). They need a major reset. Big leadership changes to institute culture changes. But that's not as good for short term stock prices. They're about to find out what their planes falling out of the sky does to their stock prices short and long term.

*that soap trick is done by every aircraft mechanic I know. Our military manuals listed it as an authorized alternative but I don't know what their books say.
