Personal anecdote time. I have always been able to tell you the exact date my dad died. But I always struggle with the year. I'd have to stop and think, do some math, etc. I carried that with me as a burden for so long. It made me feel like I didn't love enough. Hearing that Biden struggled with the year Beau died (though that story now seems twisted) really helped me. Not only did it take some of my personal load off, I felt my comfortable saying it. That's how I found out its actually very common. It's made me feel so much better. -
