  1. I still say he gets to 10 sacks. He pops on the screen, but I think we all would like to see more pass rush production. Not gonna lie, thought a 2 or 3 sack game was going to happen the last few weeks. Him having similar impact of Kerrigan would be disappointment. He’s already dramatically better against the run than Kerrigan has ever been.
  2. A lot of season left for him to put up cool stats us fans are starving for.
  3. It seems like it’s more short yardage work than 3rd and medium or long situations that Barber is involved in. My thinking was Gibson lost that work to Barber due to lack of vision and patience. Lost trust of staff to get the need led 1 to 2 yards.
  4. My guess it’s about playing time, if he goes to any contender you’d have to imagine his role would be similar. But, only contenders would be interested. He’s must be extremely frustrated to not just wait until the off season and make noise during the season. Did he just want the Washington sack record lol? I imagine his role was somewhat defined for him coming into the season.
  5. Have to think Gibson's ability to run the go route and slants provides unique schematic advantages that can make a 2RB offense a pillar of an offense. Meaning, he has the ability to threaten teams down field, most receiving backs operate underneath. Dare I say, use him like Marshall Faulk? He’s one of my top 5 backs ever. His ability to run intermediate routes was incredibly unique. Point being, Gibson should have the capability to run intermediate and deep routes making the offense more dynamic with he and Mckissic on the field. I go this direction with the topic, due to knowing there must be a reason a 2RB offense has never been a pillar for an offense. Not that I can think of. Anyone?
  6. Mckissic is playing himself into a role for the next 3 year window. From a very fan view, it seems there could be a great future with those two complimenting each other and not just a lightening/thunder type situation but with one another on the field and backing one another up. It seems Turner is exploring and experimenting with ways to do this. Loved seeing Gibson on the field with Mckissic on a fly sweep. These two together may continue to grow... hopefully it proves to be dynamic— not sure if schematically there’s been a RB duo to play together as part of a key cog to an offense. Anyone know or have a comparison? Not an early down back and 3rd down guy, which we know is common, but two playmakers that play on all downs and often together (Gibson primarily right now does play on 1st and 2nd though) .
  7. He’s trending towards a 100 catches and 13-1400 yards this season. I think his second half of the season will be bigger than his first 7 games.
  8. That’s another way at looking at it. Let’s go with that. My guess is this will be his biggest yardage and catch year of his career.
  9. His value in relation to his contract makes him an absolute star, but I don’t think he’s yet a top tier WR. He does get a lot of targets and that will hopefully decline with a legit second WR coming in the next year or two.
  10. Is this a fact... Him not being as explosive in the last week? Has he shared this or coaches? I haven’t been able to see any difference.
  11. Dripping with charisma and self awareness. The understanding to preface his speech with “I know I’m a young guy, then smile after when guys were giving a hard time right after”. He’s big time all around. Come on Allen, take this team to meaningful games in November.
  12. I was specifically talking about Chase Young and how it can serve the fans and media to look past sack numbers to justify in our minds the lofty expectations set before him. Don’t forget what the defense did to the Eagles in week 1, but the defense still has a bit to go until they can be realistically expected to spearhead wins consistently.
  13. I’m gonna go with both and lean towards sitting the rookie the whole season in an attempt to win next year and have the team in a good position from a morale standpoint the following year. As I evolve as a fan and person, the more I like the idea of letting the rookie focus on the process of being a professional in year #1 without any external pressures to perform at subjective levels.
  14. The funny thing is, it’s probably better that Allen settles in as just good to help the team keep everyone together. If Allen were to pop this season with 10 sacks, he’d most likely be gone in free agency.
  15. I like this ploy, keep this up until time to resign him.
  16. A nice big target for Allen would be nice to compliment Mcclaurin (obviously). The development of smaller mid sized WRs has not come to fruition on the field, so in a throw-away year, let’s see what the big fella can provide opposite of Mcclaurin. Some physicality on the outside— Let’s see if he’s ready to make the catches Inman has made (hes had some critical catches this far).
  17. Nah, get him all this reps as possible in a lost year.
  18. Stats for pass rushers must evolve or be better highlighted by the media and fan base. For example, Young forced an INT in the game yesterday, but this will not get attached to his stats and is just left to our memory. Or factoring in a forced INT in a game the Giants passed 19 times for 112 yards with many of the passes being out within 2.5 seconds. The plan appeared to not let the Washington Dline dominate and unfortunately the offense was unable to put any pressure on the Giants offense to get out of the mediocre zone.
  19. Complete opinion, but I have not supported his rationale for time management, flip flopping on competing/rebuilding, emotional responses relating to the Haskins benching, and one or two others I can’t think of off the top. This all gives me the feeling Ron is operating primarily on his own and not much group think is going on, resulting in his ego rising to the surface at times of friction (like a bad loss(es) or a QB change) versus logic with the support of a group. Amateur psychoanalysis. No conclusions made about Ron.
  20. I believe it’s expected that Holcomb is going to start or definitely get a fair amount of playing time this week. The coaches fortunately have lamented this point about the backers this week publicly. Must say, it’s kind refreshing to see our respective “football people” here share discontent about certain positions and changes follow suit by the team. Not married or romantic to any player. Ron in my view has let his ego creep in a bit more than I’d like to see the leader of the franchise, but I’m encouraged by the willingness to tinker and try out different players. Hopefully this will always be the case, even when he begins to bring in “his guys”.
  21. This has to change though, the top 5-7 contracts MUST produce at least at a good to great level. I have confidence in Rivera to identify these guys in the coming years, especially because he has a certain way of doing things with clear expectations that should provide him great opportunities to identify these guys and pay them. I believe this is why he was apprehensive in paying anyone this past off season, due to wanting to see them off the field, but also how they fit in his scheme. Fascinated to see his first few big signing/resigns and feel this will factor significantly in how we view Rivera’s time here. Not the only variable, but significant. It would be an interesting case study on former coaches/FOs here (and/or the league) and who the top 8 paid guys were and what their production was or wasn’t.
  22. @Skinsinparadise Who’s better at football this year, Moses or Kerrigan? Lol The Charles promotion will be fun to watch. I do like the willingness of Ron and staff to make changes and give guys a chance. Man, if shows promise that would be huge for the future. The interior would be set, leaving just LT as the question mark. A ways away from that with Charles though.
  23. I thought next year was his last year in the deal, but see there’s two more years remaining. Go ahead and tack on a year two
  24. Nah, the Browns game many of the yards came in the 4th quarter after getting worn out, due to the offense. Ravens, wipe out the Jackson run and they held the run game in check. The Rams game was the first game the defense didn’t really have any sort of answers, but it appeared Mccvay was a step or two ahead all game. Side note: I’m okay with Allen not getting the cool stats if that means a nice extension at a fair rate Is it bad I hope Matty Ice gets extended this off-season while injured at a good rate as well. Locking in these dudes before the defense takes over the NFL
  25. 3rd and 4 or more should be Bostic off the field and Collins as the lone backer and someone over the top. Put Collins where his lack of speed isn’t an issue. Eying the QB and backfield playing forward versus backwards is his game in my time watching him. Is this realistic or laymen fan view?
