  1. That’s precisely why his value is at an all time high. Dalton belongs nowhere near a top 15-20 type salary, but get him in at 6% of your cap with a team loaded/ready to compliment him, then that makes great sense. The Bengals are atrocious and sneakily chose the path you support in tanking. Not sure the elite of the elite could’ve made that team a playoff type team this year. 33 is still a QBs prime, IMO. Subjective, but Fitzpatrick is very poor at managing games and his arm talent probably the worst in the NFL. Sure, his leadership intangibles and willingness to gun sling can be the catalyst to some wins, but I’d pass on him on a team ready to compete. I believe Kirk after this next season is going to have supreme value, not a cheap shot, just a feeling. Tannehill was another guy I’ve mentioned as being of potential great value after this year, but that was before he went on a tear. He will lose a ton of value, due to Titans having to most likely commit 12-15% of their cap to him. All subjective though. We’ll see.
  2. Mahomes being the Michael Jordan of football and being on a rookie deal isn’t fair lol. Love this conversation as it relates to the QB tiers/contracts and building the roster. How the NFL adapts and which teams find an edge will be fun to observe. For example, if a team was ready to take a leap next year, then Dalton becomes a huge value pickup. His perceived value seems to be low— Get him in for a contract at 4-7% of the cap and roll with it. There are other ways to get it done than having an elite QB, but that requires an organization to be operating at a high level and be elite in the trenches, often times. I’m with you on this model and have been talking about it for years. As you said, there are many ways to skin a cat.
  3. Not hard to gather that Del Rio sees an opportunity to take this unit to new heights while improving his stock to be considered for a head coaching position.
  4. He does appear to be the type to consult with many others to get a feel for KOCs impact and qualifications.
  5. Keep Jordan Reed at a reduced salary, sign dual TE like Hunter Henry and draft one later in the draft. Sprinkle and Davis can go. Yes, I’m a sucker for elite talents and have been proven wrong on Reed, but if he’s gonna play, I’d rather see the Skins hang in there at a reduced cost with a different set of expectations.
  6. Collins seems legit to me. Sure, one can argue not paying an in the box safety the money he received, but that doesn’t take away that he’s one of the best at doing it. The further you get elsewhere from the ball the more dependent of others a player is, so get Reuben Foster and Chase Young with the other young guys improving and a great stat year (We fans love Interceptions, highlights, or even a play that seals a game to infiltrate our mind for that season, especially if winning) will hopefully present itself.
  7. Pretty wild how the elite talents jump off the screen amongst supremely gifted players. Great to finally hit on one. If the offensive talent can establish a rhythm by years end, the Skins are in great position financially moving forward, as much of the skill guys are on rookie deals for next two to three years.
  8. Well, he is... an older WR at this stage of his career.
  9. Truly a fascinating development that took place in practice, because we didn’t get to see it in preseason games lol Richardson is a proven deep threat in this league (injuries aside) and if Terry is 70% of the hype that’ll go a long way in the offense being average.
  10. Speeeeeeeed. Who needs physicality in today’s NFL.
  11. I can see him being the primary jet sweep threat as well (solid build and speed). Side note, I’d like to see the Skins do this with Thompson, much like Kamara.
  12. Richardson and Reed: If healthy, the Skins have a chance on offense to be solid. Need both to play 12-14 games though. The health of these two will allow Doctson, Davis, and Trey to play roles that align with their ability. Rookies are a wait and see for me.
  13. Great point. Wonder how Mcclaurin does on slants and catching balls in traffic. I know Jay likes to have one guy that can be physical. Mcclaurin seems to have solid build.
  14. Has a little Santonio Holmes look to me. Any similarities? Draft gurus please feel free to discredit my random assertion.
  15. MLB at times is like the RB position, where rookies can make an impact early. We’ll see.
  16. Will lose my mind if Mason is out in space consistently next season. I believe he possesses value situationally, but it must be limited. Knew the odds were slim, but off the wall excited about the prospects of Reuben and Zach flying around in the middle next season.
  17. What about Collins, appears to be a genuine dude from this press conference. Going to be a fun journey with and Bama guys hopefully.
  18. For a second I thought you were attempting to bash Alex, then I remembered your logic guarantees us 10 wins and a playoff birth. You are alright in my book. Look at you being all positive and stuff.
  19. Ouch... “I did” lol I respect your fervor in all things Alex related. Seriously. Will be fun to see it all unfold. Also, I’ve been there in totally botching stats, especially when seeing what we want to see. To your point though, Alex will not become some stat monster. Wonder what Djax’s contract has left and Richardson’s long term health. In past years I’d be okay with doing whatever, but now don’t want to risk carry over money to resign guys next year. Especially because Scherff is going to require Skins overpaying for what a guard is worth, but he’s a must resign either way.
  20. So difficult to get a feel on where Doctsons career is headed. Made some nice catches on the skinny posts— made it look effortless. Then on the deep shot, he got himself in amazing position that not many WRs can get to, but didn’t come down with it. His ball skills and way he positions himself for jump balls reminds me so much of Randy Moss. I like that Alex gave him a few shots, maybe a sign of things to come.
  21. Would love to somehow get Paul Richardson in the slot more often and relegate Crowder to more of a situational role. How this can happen with current WR depth does not seem likely. Need speed on the field more consistently.
  22. Galdi has talent, but is too creative for his own good and jumps around too many topics for my liking. Can’t find a groove with his rhythm. Admittedly being a podcast listener and Skins fan only it’s annoying. Will Miss the days when I’d get 40 minutes plus of straight Skins talk from Cooley and Sheehan. Also liked they would extend segments when appearing to feel the audience was into it. Id imagine the Cooley breakdowns will find a landing spot somewhere.
  23. I see a nice 2-3 year window with the players on offense as is. Any chance both Garcon and Jackson are resigned? My thinking: Doctson, Crowder, Scherff and Jones will all be on rookie deals next 2 years (cheap). Would be amazing to slowly bring along Doctson and maybe another drafted WR (Grant doesnt seem to be a guy who will take over on the outside). Why not give 3 year deals (with ability to get out after 2) to both guys and squeeze out the remaining years of their primes and continue the great production of the offense. A 2-3 year championship window may be happening next year. Thoughts??
  24. It's amazing how great talents are really unique and how few there truly are. During the game, I was talking with my brother about how special London Fletcher really was sideline to sideline and overall playmaking, and how the Skins are missing a stud at the position. I have zero game tape watching to support this claim, but feel the lack of physical ability at MLB is killing the defense. Not a declaration, as I understand most get that Compton and Foster aren't supreme talents. Point for me is the Dline gets a lot of criticism for run game issues, but it seems these guys are just as, if not more responsible.
