  1. Where are you reading such nonsense? The trade back crew I have seen have all acknowledged how good Chase can be, they just want to fill more needs. Now I just learned he may grow to 6'8". Maybe now we can have defensive lineman who actually bats down passes. We never seem to do that, we haven't blocked a kick or field goal since Sean Taylor or so it seems.
  2. The Bears and Jags are actually perfect examples of having great defenses with bad QB limits you immensely. Where are they now? They both had one really good season that was cut short because their QB couldn't get it done and then immediately became irrelevant. Meanwhile teams with top QBs contend for over a decade
  3. As we wore NORML tee shirts and attended the annual Smoke In on the Mall in the late 70's I never would have expected the level of acceptance weed has gotten to today. I have a card and it helps me with a nerve condition but I was a user all along. I too never dream and that always struck me as strange. But I'm not THAT into it where I need to discuss the strains as my neighbor constantly tries to do. I understand there is a difference between Indigo and Sativa but i've never felt it myself. Some strains seem to get me higher than others despite the THC levels but when I go to the store I just buy what's on sale
  4. Prezactly. Not to say you can't get a great player by trading back a few spots, but Chase clearly has the best chance to be great and when you have the 2nd pick in the draft you don't screw around you take the guy who has the best chance to be great.
  5. Oh I agree, it always takes a team. But make no mistake, that Seattle team had a number of great players. So did every team that plays in Super Bowls from what I've seen. Again it will take more than Chase, obviously, but when you get a chance to get one of these guys you have to take it. They seem pretty set, there is very little evidence that Kyle sees other players that are comparable. But you are right, if Haskins fails it won't mean anything. How many games did Miles Garrett, Von MIller and Khalil Mack win last year with poor QB play? But let's not forget the impact a player like Miller had on that last Denver Super Bowl win had, it was immense.
  6. Yes but every top team has great, not good, not very good, no they have some great players. Great players determine games, when you get the chance to draft one at a position with as much impact as edge rusher you just have to take advantage of that rare opportunity. As for the free agents signed only a few can be called "average starters". The rest are back of the roster players and camp fodder.
  7. Yeah they could very well be in the market for a QB this time next year.
  8. I agree that keeping liquor stores open was the smart move, without that you would indeed have people breaking down doors. I wasn't sure so I stocked up several weeks ago. Of course I find myself drinking more so there's that.
  9. I have been driving around with a mask, gloves, plastic sheeting and duct tape in my trunk. I'm glad to see this is now acceptable
  10. Everyone's grandma had that bowl of ribbon candy that had been sitting there for 4 years.
  11. PB&J > Raisin Bread It has protein, is more filling, will last you longer and it has history. Kids grew up on PB&J, they appeared in lunch boxes all over America. Raisin bread is something they fed you when you visited Grandma, then she offered you a bowl with ribbon candy that had all fused together in one mass the size of a volleyball.
  12. But can you live on it for 14 days? I finally ventured into the grocery store and bought PB&J and bread. We can live on PB&J sandwiches for weeks if we have to.
  13. This is so easy yet I got away from making even easy dishes lately. I either grill or get carryout most nights. Thanks for the reminder, gotta make this again soon.
  14. I swore he was offsides so I went back and stopped it at the instant of the snap. Yeah that took a few tries but finally I was able to see, he was right on the snap It's as if he's stealing signs or somethin'
  15. I am not really going to continue to defend my position that a head coach would never be upset that his team actually won. I shouldn't have to. Electing to switch to a 3-4 has nothing what so ever to do with the claim that he was mad that his team actually won. But then again around here we could argue for a day about the sky being blue.
  16. If you honestly believe a coach as competitive as Mike Shannahan was upset that his team went on a 7 game winning streak that landed a playoff spot I have no idea what more to say to you. Enjoy the game today. Back to Chase that article @Skinsinparadise posted is the very reason I want them to draft Chase Young.
  17. So your position is a head coach with the ego and competitive makeup of Shannahan would have preferred to go 5-11 than make the playoffs, which obviously goes on his record as an accomplishment. Yeah, OK. Make perfect sense to me.
  18. Of course not, most every coach of a 3-6 team would feel they are out of the playoffs and starting planning for the following season, this is hardly unique to Shanny. But your claim that he was actually upset that his QB turned the season around and made the playoffs is complete nonsense, why would a head coach be upset that his team started to play great and that landed them in the playoffs even if he didn't expect it? Are you actually claiming that Shannahan would have rather been 5-11 and out of the playoffs? Come on now.
  19. So your position is the head coach was upset that his rookie QB played great and that play helped nail down a playoff spot? Let's just say I disagree.
  20. Kyle created an offense that actually got Robert Griffin to play at a high level, he did an amazing job here but then his dad was undermined when Snyder enabled Griffin to act the way he did. Shanny never wanted McNabb, he didn't want the trade up for Griff either yet he got stuck with them even though he was told he has total control. Then of course the whole thing blew up and the Shannahans were unfairly blamed IMO. See above
  21. I missed it but I'm sure it's a comment I would approve of. He has ever right to be bitter at the Redskins for what they did to him and his dad.
  22. Yeah maybe so, either way the Giants get a haul. Still rather be in our spot then theirs.
  23. I don't know of any fan that would discuss player contracts without the salary cap being considered. Back to Chase I had a thought that was echoed by a caller on the radio. If they do get a big offer to trade back from Miami (nobody is willing to give up multiple first round picks for any position except QB) that means Chase Young falls to the Giants. I normally do not think it's a good idea to worry about other teams when making a move but this is a unique situation and another reason why I don't want to trade back. So that means the Giants probably get a big offer to trade back but still only drop to the 5th pick plus other high picks which will really help them.
  24. We discuss the player's contract not because we feel the money is coming from our own pockets, the amount players make are constantly discussed because we all understand the salary cap and how one big contract can effect the team's ability to sign other players. If they draft Chase Young DL is literally the last need on this roster. Trading yet more draft assets, which would no doubt include next year's first and then some, to trade up to draft Kinlaw would be a crazy move with so many other needs to fill.
