  1. Actually I share all of your concerns on Turge. However Bruno and Huerter kind of sheds that label that he can't develop talent. PG is harder to get a handle on. Melo's jumper left the building, that's not really on the coach. Cowan is up and down but he's clearly better than his freshman year. What I don't get from the bashers is this sense of entitlement from the fans who think we somehow deserve better. We have exactly 2 Elite Eights, the same number of Final Fours and one title in the program's history. And those were accomplished by the same group in back to back years. Other than those 2 years where Turge has taken us is not all that different than where Lefty and Gary had us. Maybe not the high rankings, and clearly they played in a tougher conference. But missing the tourney once every few years, and going out by the Sweet Sixteen if not sooner is pretty much what we've always done with the exception of the Dixon team. But yeah, his style is dull and he sure ain't the game coach Gary was, few are. But he works hard at recruiting, unlike Gary, and his talent can at times make up for his average game day coaching ability.
  2. I can't believe it took me this long to find this thread Like most I am pleasantly surprised at the Terps season to date. Bruno is a man, one of the best players we have had at Maryland in a long time. His name will be in the rafters. Love the freshman, Wiggins was my favorite from the beginning and i expect him to be great in a year or 2. This is a tremendous, and deep, freshman class. I am a bit disappointed in Stix. Still love his upside and this probably means he stays for at least another year. But as a 5 star I was kinda thinking he would be more developed. The way they throw the ball away, I have no idea why that is but it's been a constant under Turge (i am not a Turge basher, he's fine by me), I see them as a Sweet Sixteen ceiling. But who knows? They certainly have the talent to go further.
  3. The Trump Cult has made it perfectly clear that they only consider national security important when a Dem is involved. We have a sitting President being investigated for his relationship with Russia and all they can do is fine fault with the investigation.
  4. Excuse my ignorance but with control of the House can this be revisited? Why can't Mueller simply interview him/her?
  5. I'm glad to see that private meeting with Putin is being discussed. I've often wondered if the interpreter can be interviewed. That meeting has not been given nearly enough run. A President under investigation for colluding with Russia meets privately with the Russian leader, why is this not discussed more?
  6. Yes but Trump does not have to be directly involved, just as Nixon never broke into Watergate, to be in trouble. This certainly puts in play Trump orchestrating a cover up and obstruction which I kind of always felt was the case all along. The firing of Comey alone looked like obstruction to me.
  7. I have been thinking this all day. This Manafort news is huge and pretty much the smoking gun evidence of collusion between the Trump campaign and Russia which shoots a hole right "nothingburger" crowd's claim that there was nothing found. Kind of suck that they burried the lead but this story is not going anywhere, it's just the start.
  8. Not sure what poll you are referring to here but most of the polls I have seen clearly blame the President. As they said seeing as he clearly said he would take ownership of the shutdown and won't blame the Dems. Of course as Trump does he went completely back on his word just later. https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/politics-news/poll-47-americans-blame-trump-government-shutdown-n952466 https://thehill.com/homenews/administration/423051-poll-more-americans-blame-trump-for-shutdown-than-democrats
  9. I really think the best chance to get Trump is for it to be revealed that he lied in his response to Mueller's questions. It could be something as simple as saying he did not know of the payments. That's perjury, that's an impeachable offense as we have seen.
  10. Not sure I understand this. Both are evil, only one has the excessive baggage that could be even more damaging.
  11. Oh I think Pence is a pig but I just don't see him mocking the disabled or walking off the stage with a world leader. I don't see him crying on Twitter like petulant little boy every time someone is mean to him. At least he will not act like he is totally ill equipped for the job. He is also the biggest suck up I have ever seen, every word out of his mouth is kissing the President's ass because he knows what happens to anyone who dares to offer a different opinion. Did you see the clip of Pence moving his water bottle to the floor right after Trump did it? I mean that's just embarrassing, see below. I also agree with you that with a GOP Senate Trump survives this, unfortunately.
  12. If there is evidence so strong it results in impeachment then they should throw his ass out. I don't see any way that could backfire on the Dems regarding 2020. At that point the GOP will be so damaged the Dems should win the White House very easily. I hear you on Pence and who knows how dirty he is. But if he stays as much as I disagree with him it's gonna be a Republican anyway and it's only for a few years. At least he is an adult who knows how to behave.
  13. That's the thing, it appears as if we want 2 different things. You want him to keep his job, I want him thrown out on his ass in disgrace and the history books to show in 150 years that this clown was the first President thrown out of office. A conviction would be sugar on top.
  14. No no you missed my point. If he simply finishes his term he will be remembered one way, if he is thrown out of office he will be remembered much differently. Basically everyone knows the name President Andrew Johnson from 150 years ago and there is only one reason for that, he was impeached. I want the same legacy for Trump.
  15. Not me. I want President Trump thrown out of office and for the history books to record it for the rest of time. If he serves out his term and is defeated in 2020 he will be a foot note. If he is thrown out of office every school kid for the rest of time will learn just what a disaster he was. Like Joe Paterno he will deserve this legacy.
  16. Enjoy reading this thread although I have not participated a lot. Good to read so many libs, I'm used to getting attacked by the Trump Cult on other boards. So what do you guys think will be the outcome of the report? Me I never thought Trump was directly involved but I sure felt his sons, and others, were talking to Russia about getting their help. I also see Trump as being guilty of a cover up, there is little question to me he has been orchestrating a way out of this behind the scenes. He just never once gave the appearance that he had nothing to hide, every action and word spelled guilt to some degree.
  17. There is a reason Dez is still out of work. It's the same reason a top 5 talent was still available with the 24th pick.
  18. In fairness, at least earlier in the game, Smtih appeared to be looking downfield but either didn't find an open receiver or they dropped it. But let's not for a second allow last year to fool us, Alex Smith always has been a safe, short passer. That's who he is and to expect anything differently is naive. And that is why this team had zero chance late down 2 scores. Think Colts fans would have felt that way had the score been reversed?
  19. This is a really good post, Crabtree put up monster numbers in college and most thought he'd be a star. Instead he's just OK to pretty good, nothing more, but he was below that for many years. But I'm not sure I see Doc as a slot receiver, seems what he offers is best utilized outside.
  20. I knew WR was one of the most talked about need but I honestly saw a bounce back year from Crowder and perhaps a big leap by Doctson, I saw Richardson as another Alvin Harper. But man I never saw this group as this bad, they simply do not get open. If Doc busts can we finally close the case and confirm that Scott M's tenure here was yet another example of a smart, accomplished man showing up in Ashburn and instantly turning stupid?
  21. I laughed. But in truth I see Simms as having real upside, Mitchell never really had that.
  22. I heard Jay say on the radio that Cam has great skills but he's got a lot to learn regarding route running etc. He's just not there yet. As for Crowder he is the only receiver on this team who has been productive. Calling Trey Quinn a suitable replacement is beyond a reach, Crowder came out of that draft as the best route runner.
  23. Ya know I looked into this and thought I had read it's only available if you do not have access to DTV or some such nonsense Another plan I have is Slingbox Pay a friend up here to rent a cable box in an unused room, then tap that box to access all the DC channels. That way I get Redskins, Terps BB, everything, Anyone try this?
