  1. What a freaking roller coaster. We were up, then after hearing so many say the ticket thing would be almost impossible to pull off for such little money, we felt the air leave the balloon. Now it's inflating again? Does this guy who testified have actual evidence or not?
  2. And.....this is exactly why so many of us refused to get excited at the possibility. Now here I was ready to pay attention to the Washington draft, now I'll just return to following the Ravens.
  3. This is what I was hoping I'd see when I got up, reports like this. I am like most everyone else here, I'll believe it when I see it. But stories like this often come true, there is so much smoke this time. So how does this get "proven"? Will the league interview the witnesses? Does anyone trust Snyder's books should they be audited?
  4. If you are implying that Dan Snyder has inside information of other owners and their cooking of the books I have to question that. By reports he has few friends among the owners, I think it's clear that Jones wants to support him because he's in the division and keeping Snyder helps the Boys win.
  5. I had forgotten all about that. Thanks for bringing it up. This is in fact a game changer. It was pretty clear that the other owners were split on what to do with this pig. He was already on the fence. I know I should not say this but not sure how he survives this.
  6. I'm not sure what to make of this. I would not put it past him but I'm concerned this new investigation could make some feel this is piling on, Snyder may actually come across as a sympathetic figure to some. But then again this is more bad looks for the team and with it the league and I'm wondering just when enough is enough to the other owners.
  7. I wasn't aware that Travis was leaving but that's good news to this old guy. His demo is not me, I can't stand all the screaming etc.
  8. Can others explain exactly how Jada constantly embarrassed Will, I mean other than the affair that has been covered.
  9. My initial take is I'm cool with it. Will Smith is a really good guy, he saw his wife's reaction and given all the other stuff they have dealt with he had had enough. I too believe his initial laugh was due to the cameras. But now I realize what he did was over the line. I'm not all bent out of shape about it, I can see why he felt the way he did. But you can't do that.
  10. Oh I get it and I'm not trying to temper your enthusiasm. I'm just saying Washington fans will get excited the way Jags fans got excited when something called Gardner Minshew started the season playing well.
  11. I predict he will start out playing well, and to this fanbase any competent QB play given what we have seen will look like a huge upgrade. Fans will get all excited, then the inevitable happens.
  12. Don't get me wrong, we all know how this will play out. But for the life of me I don't understand this level of criticism. They were never in the running for the top guys. So their options were Mariotta, Tribusky and other failed starters. At least with Wentz he showed the ability to play at a high level at one time, you just can't say that about the other available options.
  13. Sorry for the late reply. What I'm saying is just like with ticket and concession sales, which are solely to the team, the loss of AB as a Washington sponsor has zero effect on the NFL's bottom line.
  14. Well the news has been out for several days, it's now not news, and we didn't really hear of any other fanbases standing up about it. No this remains a Commanders problem only, didn't make a ripple nationally.
  15. The lack of responses here to this AB news I think is telling. A month ago we saw a lot more activity in this thread. This entire story continue to fall off the radar, even here.
  16. I came here to judge the reaction after seeing this news. I do believe this is significant but is it a league problem or just a Washington problem? The way to get change is for league sponsors to tell the NFL they are leaving and why. But this is still big news.
  17. Not so sure about that. The trigger is playing 70% of the snaps, it's not based on performance. He reached the trigger in Indy too and they shipped him out of town.
  18. Since when did a 3rd that MAY convert to a second become nearly the same as a 2nd that DID become a first? 1st round picks are far more valuable than 2nds. I actually thought the deal itself was fine given their other options.
  19. This is how I see Wentz. He will appear to be playing well, that will be the case because he is far better then any QB we have seen around here in a long time. But Wentz is another Kirk Cousins, he will melt at the biggest moments.
  20. I'm not sure why the name Wentz did not come up much before this move. . We should have anticipated this, we all knew Indy was moving on This was always more realistic than Carr, who I do not believe will be traded, or Watson, Rodgers etc. and those were the names we've been talking about. Personally I saw a 2nd for Jimmy G but this was also an obvious possibility that we missed. Ron knew guys like Tribusky, Winston etc suck and are never going to be the answer. So he got a QB who at least showed he can be good at one time, something those last 2 guys have never shown.
