My $3 parlay woulda paid $1000, but these dudes decide they want to score points today. I didnt think they'd score over 14.5. Now, just pour it on, might as well. lol -

If he's selling for $6B, he definitely shouldn't allow them to fire Turner. What does he care at that point. It's $6M out the window for no good reason. -

Maybe nowhere else, but being able to pick your QB is kind of a big deal. If the owner making Haskins a condition to get the job, that shoulda been a red flag that maybe this isn't the place to be. Assuming Rivera didn't himself have a high evaluation of him before the job, that is. -
Not unreasonable, certainly wouldn't put it past Snyder. But I just think the people in place just have zero grasp of this town and the team's history. Zero. They've proven that time and again. The little details will always get missed with this group.

True, but I'm inclined to not give him a pass on Haskins because if that was a condition of the job, he could have worked that out upfront or just passed on the gig. I'm sure the topic of QB, and Haskins specifically, came up in the interview. -
I was just being cheeky. I meant earlier in the season when the Dolphins were hot. lol I might have vaguely recalled hearing the name from his WR coach year here, but I won't pretend like I knew anything else about him. But he's been gone from here since 2013. I dont think it means anything that he wasnt a coaching prospect all the way back then. Took him 4 stops and 9 years to work his way up the ladder. Seems reasonable to me he didnt get noticed until recently. I can totally see this being the case.

Rivera has had more control and the least amount of Snyder involvement of any coach in history and he still can't get results. Everybody else had the excuse of Snyder and Cerrato/Allen meddling and screwing things up. -
I'm softening on this whole thing. I think if Sonny didn't request Frank to be there, I think that's a relevant detail. If Frank and Sonny aren't close, then it is what it is. People (including me at first) were slamming the team for not ignoring Sonny's direct request. Sonny didn't say "I want only family AND Frank". Could they team have put Frank in the booth from the beginning? Sure, I guess, but it's not the egregious oversight that it seemed initially to me. But at this point, every little thing this team does like this sends the fans into hysterics.

I'm old enough to remember when McDaniels was the next young offensive genius. But I cut them some slack because their season clearly got derailed because Tua is an injury waiting to happen. If he's not absolutely 100%, you cant trust him to perform properly. He's not gonna be Herbert out there slinging dimes with broken ribs. They start out 3-0 beating the Patriots, Ravens, and Bills. Then Tua has that infamous fencing concussion against the Bengals. Misses the next 3 games and they lose all 3. Comes back and they promptly run off 5 straight wins. They were 8-0 to start the season in games Tua started and finished. But then the wheels started to come off down the stretch against 4 playoff teams, 3 on the road. I dont think Tua's right. After beating HOU in week 12, he can't complete a pass. He only completing 53% of his passes in the 4 games after that. He was 69% in the 9 games before that. So somethings going on with him. Doesn't help that they can't run the ball to save their lives, but they never could.

Couldn't Sonny or his family ask that Frank be there? But then, you mean to tell me there's nobody associated with this event that could tell JW that they might want to make room for Frank?

Man, I spent 2 years arguing with folks about this. The amount of times last year I heard variations on the theme of "he's basically a rookie", or "build around him and let him develop". But I agree, if he wants to come back as a backup, then fine. I dont want to disrespect the value of a backup like him. Cuz the chances are high he's gonna have to play at least a little. Looking at the QB depth chart around the league, he's probably the 4th to 6th best backup QB in the league. But otherwise, he can go forth and see what's out there. I can see him running backup for a team with an entrenched QB like Cincy or Buffalo and riding out the rest of his career doing that.

After eliminated teams are making permanent roster moves thinking their season is effectively over. How many guys did we put on IR this week.

Ron's original plan for this game was even more convoluted. He has established again and again he is no QB whisperer and should not be in charge of QBs. When have you ever heard a coach say they're gonna start one guy just so the guy behind him can watch and come in? Now, you hear that in terms of games or parts of the season, but not within a game itself, at the end of the season starts that. Yeah, but that's a guy with hardware, job security, and a rep as a genius. Not even a year removed from hoisting a SB trophy. A guy that's been fired once already, with his butt firmly in the hot seat right now, can't talk like that. -
I'm pretty cynical, so I can envision Heinicke isnt gonna string it along here and knows he's gonna test the market. He's got plenty of tape out there at this point. Because hearing Ron describe his plan, Heinicke was only gonna play just enough to give Howell a look at the defense. It would be perfectly reasonable for Heinicke to say to just start the kid if that was the plan.

He had 2 winning seasons. But they were also, not coincidentally, when Gruden stopped fooling around with RG3 and made Cousins the full-time starter. But even in Gruden's first year, thry moved the ball up and down the field, they just couldn't score. They were like 13th in yards, but 26th in points.
