I will say, this is Heinicke's spot. Screw it up late, then redeem himself. If the defense can get a stop. Which it doesn't look like they can.

At this point, I wouldn't even want him out there in important games. We need the best 11 out there on defense and if he's gonna be tentative and not explosive, then he ain't it. I'd rather have Obada or Smith-Williams out there at 100% than Chase at 90% physically, but only 50% mentally. Best case scenario, this is a Curtis Samuel situation. An injury is just not gonna allow anything to happen this year. Just bag it and all-in for 2023.

The Russians dont actually give a crap about the arms dealer. In reality, he's probably not worth anything to them other than a means to an end. They didnt seem all that concerned about getting him back until there was something it for them. Which was making the US look bad in this case. But remember in Die Hard when Hans is rattling off a list of prisoners he wants released that he didnt really care about? I see it more like that. The more I've thought about it and absorbed it, I have less of a problem with it than I initially thought at first (but I still don't love it). But, Bout had served 15 years of a 25 year sentence already. He was getting out eventually. It's not like he just got convicted and sprung without doing any real time. And I think people think this guy that's been holed up in a prison for 15 years is gonna get out and jump right back into the arms dealing game. And who would want to do business with a guy that just got out of an American prison? He's burned at this point.

Let me preface this by saying, if it were me, I'd want them to trade an arms dealer and anyone else for my freedom. But as an observer, I dont know if I love an arms dealer for basketball player swap. But wasnt this arms dealer on the table from the beginning? Sounds like she twisted in the wind all this time until we changed our mind and took the original offer.

This is turning into a fiasco. If he can't go, he can't go, but the will he/won't he every week is tired. At this point, there should be no expectations he'll be any good this year if he does get in. And about to go into year 4 and not know what you have in a guy we thought was the next great Washington athlete is disappointing. Especially even you see guys like Myles Garrett, the Bosa brothers, Parsons, Burns, et al, just tearing up the league. Young should be right there with those guys and he isn't, for a few reasons.

In my defense, Kenny Albert said it before the kick, so we dont REALLY know who's to blame. lol I dont think I ever rooted for a kick to go in more than that one just for remembering I said that. Lesson learned. lol
