Buh bye Chris. I think there's no way he's on the roster next year. -

Was just about to post this - he almost certinaly could have gotten a double on that last hit but for some reason slowed down... maybe he just wanted to get the "hit for the cycle" highlight. -

Magazine capacity would be something to be looked at. However it takes all of 2-3 seconds for an experienced shooter to eject and slap in a new mag so its not much of a barrier. For a revolver using a speed loader, its a little more like 4-5. Also, its not hard to homebrew high capacity magazines. Granted they are somewhat crude and unreliable. But for someone going on a killing spree, they only need to work once. -

To me I would define it as any rifle capable of semi-auto fire. You don't need semi-auto for hunting deer or target shooting, sorry. Semi-auto was designed to maximize military effectiveness, which is to neutralize (kill or seriously wound) enemy soldiers. -

Mancini's value is more as 1B. Elias will have a good argument to management in the offseason for dumping Davis as he is blocking Mancini from playing the position which will maximize his value in any potential trades, which also has the effect of blocking guys in the pipeline like Hays, Stewart and Mountcastle. -

I doubt it. Elias knows its going to be 2022 at the earliest when the Os are able to serious contenders. Bad teams can go on runs, but they're still bad teams. If the right offer had come along for someone like Mancini, then I have no doubt he would have pulled the trigger. But he's under control for three more years and we would need legit prospects in return, not just C grade guys. I think with Givens, the offers probably weren't good and we hope he can rebound next year so we can get something at the deadline. My thinking about Cashner now was more of a salary dump than anything. -

Probably not enough interest to justify a trade. We don't have alot of players who are both good and set to become FA either this year or next. Villar is basically an average 2B and Givens hasn't been exactly been lighting it up. -
I like to focus on this life, as its the only one I'm sure I'll have

Only thing I can think of is its such a change of pace. You're used to expecting 90+ mph fastballs, ~85 mph change ups, 80 mph breaking balls, and then all of a sudden a guy starts throwing ducks and it throws you off. On the other hand, shouldn't those position players who have "good arms" be able to throw a decent fastball? Breaking pitches I can understand take technique. But why doesn't 3B whos used to throwing hard across the diamond, at least be able to hurl one in from the pitchers mound at a decent velocity? -

Trout doubles but Fletcher thrown out at home, game tied at 8-8. Ohtani flies out. On the 16th we go. Villar mashes one! 10-8 good guys. -

Dang, Scott not looking good. Just walked the bases loaded. 1 out though so a DP can end it. Scott can't throw a strike anymore. Just walked in a run a 4 pitches. Now here comes Trout 😧 -

Nice baserunning sequence by Villar to get over to third, Smith Jr. draws walk and Jace comes through! 7-5 Os Now 8-5. Ace of Jace steals 2nd and Alberto drives him in. Tanner Scott to try to close it out. -

West Coast marathon game ... now on the 14th inning. I'm wondering if we'll see Chris Davis pitch at some point. -
ADWD was not trash. Like book AFFC, it has the problems of pacing and storylines which were total duds/deadends. On the other hand, the character development is pretty darn good. Dany's eventual fall is heavily foreshadowed. Its much better on a reread.

Maybe the Nats would be willing to trade for Givens? 🙂 -
Yes, our forwards could have finished better. There were a couple decent chances. its even possible the US might have pulled off the win. Doesn't excuse the midfield was totally owned. And looking at those chances, alot were mostly kicking a longball and having Altidore/Pulisic go chase it. Again shows how terrible the midfield was, that they were totally incapable of moving the ball upfield themselves, or generating chances off a pressure/turnover.

I played this game as a young teen. I don't recall a whole lot other than the factions of Humans, Orks, and Eldar, (which was pretty much copied from plain Warhammer Humans/Ors/Elves),. The Space Marines were the elite fighting force for the humans. And then there was this Emperor dude who was unnaturally old but kept alive by machines but completely immobile. Oh yeah, and some people had psychic powers and there these Inquisitor dudes (working for the Emperor) who would go around and hunt down the psychics to either capture/kill. And I think there were these Navigator guys who were the only ones who could pilot spaceships but also had to be psychic.

And he's doing better in AA. Looks like he'll be promoted to Norfolk soon. -
They kept getting bailed out and were finally able to exit successfully last year https://www.reuters.com/article/us-eurozone-greece-bailout/greece-exits-final-bailout-successfully-esm-idUSKCN1L40OG Bottom line is the EuroZone wasn't going to let a member fail, any more than the US is going to let one of its state governments fail.

These guys look like total wildcards but I think the return is better. I'd rather take a chance on guys that could turn into stars rather than some 24-year old who projects to marginal MLB starter. Those types can be had in free agency. But young, cost-conrolled stars are critical for teams that don't have the war chest of the Yanks or Dodgers. Because the Os cannot compete in FA for premium talent, they need to draft and develop it. -
The NBA should just go with a fantasy draft every year
