OBJ is a different animal them all the guys you mentioned. He hasn't been that good in 5 years yet he's built a larger them life persona on social media where he's probably still the most famous NFL player behind Brady. And he's treated that way by teammates and fans. So when he gets out on the field and zigs when the coaches and QB are expecting him to zag, it becomes "he's not being used right" no matter how many 3rd and 4th down passes he drops. And then all the media talks about is him and they ask Chase about him and he'll say "they should throw him the ball more" and the coaches are just left 🤦♂️. Cam is the closest to being on the same level but not sure how Ron "handled" him. They both left Carolina on a whimper.

I wouldn't touch OBJ. He's still viewed as a rockstar around the league by players and a lot of fans. Giant and Browns players loved him because he's very giving when it comes to shoes, headphones and other clothing items he gets for free. And he seems like a good guy to be around. That said, he walks to the beat of his own drum on gamedays. He was disrupting the flow of the Browns offense because he wasn't getting to the spots he was supposed to be and then pouted when he didn't get the ball. But yet the young players in the locker room still cultivate to him because of his persona. He's like an enchantress. That's the danger with him and I wouldn't want him around Chase, Terry, etc. who all idolized him since back when they were in HS.

Maybe they can trick him into signing an NDA and then force him out.

I think people supported Dan because he was willing to spent big money on free agents and coaches. He'd win the offseason. That showed he cared even if it wasn't working. Weird thing is he wouldn't spend money on other things that are kind of important. We had one of smallest scouting departments in the league. Our training facilities are some of the worst in the league. FedEx Field's turf was one of the worst in the league.

It was a bold move my Keim to admit he was wrong on Rosen after one year and then hire a fired college HC. Not sure what the media market's like in AZ but it would have been a huge uproar in DC or one of the bigger markets. That being said it set the table for RR to do the same thing in his 1st draft here. He didn't draft Haskins. The personnel people in place lead by Kyle Smith were never high on Haskins. You have the #2 overall pick which you never know if you'll be drafting that high again. You have to be all in on the QBs if you don't have one.

If they're worried about anonymity can't they just redact those names?

That's what I thought lol -
Even the Lions are better at honoring former players.

The PIT/BAL model includes continuity with system and coaches. It's easier for them to identify talent because they haven't changed much over the years. The Ravens have had different DCs but they've always promoted from within. Same with the Steelers. So are we married to JDR and his assistants?

Other NFL teams have done it when players died. The Browns retired Ernie Davis' number shortly after he died of cancer. The Vikings retired Corey Springer's number I think within a year after his death. The Cards retired Pat Tillman's number. The blueprint was there to just do it when they put Sean in the ring of honor. But nah let's wait several years and then spring it on everyone out of the blue when we're in the middle of a PR crisis.

Next Day Thread (Same Day Edition): Ineptitude vs. Kansas City

Didn't expect a win today, but they needed Riverboat Ron to show up to have a chance and we got Liferaft Ron. You have to be aggressive on 4th down against the Chiefs and Ron went conservative. -
The last movie you saw......GO! (After you read the OP!!!!)

I thought they were pretty upfront that this movie revolved around Dickie. That being said, it was okay. I thought they tried to do too much in 2 hrs. I'd love to see a spin-off series around young Tony's rise. I agree about Silvio, although I liked young Paulie and ****. -
See this is where Jason needs to step infront of the camera and take questions from reporters. That's what team presidents are supposed to do. Releasing statements on twitter isn't enough. It continues to be an issue with this organization. Like when they claimed Rueben Foster off waivers. They knew that was going to cause a swirl. Bruce should have called a press conference immediately and addressed it. But hey, they sent Doug out there who's not media savvy and he makes it worse with the "small potatoes" remark.

Right now it's just Baugh's #33, but it will be 3 with Mitchell and Taylor.

I kinda understand why they'd not be happy. Mitchell makes sense but then you're chronologically skipping over a lot of guys to get to Taylor. I guess they're starting with the deceased one's first?
