Ive been pretty vocal in my dislike of Ron as a HC/GM. Great guy, good person but a crappy HC and I see zero value in keeping him around for any other role with the team. Call me a hater if you want... but these are all reasons that would have caused any HC to be fired if we had a half decent owner with half a brain and less of his own duchery. 1. Non winning record 2. Inability to land a half decent QB in 4 years and getting fleeced in the trades for bad QBs a. Kyle Allen for a 5th.. when nobody wanted him b. Wentz .. we all know that one 3. Underperforming D - Inability to get the most out of a D with so much 1st rd talent and good players until 2nd half of last season from a D minded HC is unfathomable. Yes, i hold him responsible for poor hires. 4. Poor drafting as a whole - especially in the upper rounds. 5. Poor hiring - Turner > giving him an extension and then firing him 6. General baffoonery when he opens his mouth I appreciate that he had to deal with a **** owner and "team culture" is better... whatever that means, but in the end the results speak for themselves.

No deals can be done until the sale is final. I have a feeling we will see a number of new contracts once the ink hits the paper. -
I dont give a **** what Ron wants. (its been widely shown he does not have the mental fortitude to GM a franchise) Hard Knocks is what this team NEEDS! Its a great story.. and a perfect opportunity: 1. Team just got sold and renamed recently 2. New ownership, new blood, new direction as a franchise 3. Great story lines with Howell, Young, Terry 4. David / Goliath angle since this team is viewed as the bottom dweller of the NFCE 5. Finally and most importantly ... get fans of the team excited and put butts in seats. Wash would be dumb NOT to do it.. and of course they wont.

It was more like an Offense didn't scare anyone.. so even though our D was legit.. teams felt they could tire them out and score enough to walk away with a win. Having at least at average O will pay dividends 5 fold. - more fresh as they spend less time on the field - D can play more aggressive to get turnovers - Reduce chance of injury due to less time on the field -
With more zone blocking and addition of youth I actually feel ok with O line this year. I hated the O-line last year and that concern was validated.... With solid depth, youth and hopefully an O-coordinator that is smart enough to adjust protection mid-game.. we might be ok.m Not great by any means.. but OK. The only concern i have is the back up LT, If Leno goes down we're in trouble... although that could be said for most NFL teams that lose a starting LT

Opinion based on what? i disagree... Both will play. This is just posturing for a new contract. Not only will they lose eligibility for fa if they dont play... they look very poor to any team that might want to sign them and neither plays a position where replacements cant be found. Plus history has shown us that sitting out on purpose has never benefited a player. They are still under contract, they will play.

is it just me or does he look like he is 14 years old?

regretfully Rivera isnt trading Young this year. He needs to put out the best possible team in order to have the best chance to save his job.. Just based on pedigree Young has better potential to perform as a DE on this Def than any current backup. Of course if one of the backup look lights out in training camp... anything can happen

The balls on Ballard!!? After he bent Mayhew over on the Wentz trade, he is doubling down to try to get more pick for Luck tampering. ... Cant blame him.

2023 NFL Draft Watch and Post Thread - The Hangover Special

I am going to hold off on my draft eval .. although this FO hasn't exactly lit it up the last few years. These guys haven't played a down yet so you cant say we have a top 5 secondary... we had an average at best secondary last year.. and top5 is quiet a jump. Overall they drafted for need obviously .. i am ok with it. We needed secondary help and needed O-line so they went with what was there. The issue is that Rivera has had 3 years to fix the QB position (the by far most important role in football) and has whiffed repeatedly. I am hoping he doesn't get to whiff again next year and we have a new real coach that know what the hell he is doing. -
Even playing nickel he is largely a liability... i am actually surprised this FO hasnt approached him about a pay cut.. maybe they are waiting to see what they have in the rookies. Or more likely this FO is largely incompetent and while every other GM is playing chess... Ron is playing plinko
-
I dont get this fear with losing Fuller, the guy is a below average corner at this stage.. and was nothing special to begin with. It doesn't make sense to cut him because rookie corners are completely unproven but at his current contract its a bad deal. If fuller is force to play outside again... we are in trouble.

Just like my first time with a Hooker at 16, I was left mostly disappointed. learn from my mistakes!

Young has minimal trade value... but it was the move i wad advocating the whole time. If this does not light a fire under him, nothing will... and he will join sh!t GM Ron on the unemployment line. I would guess Sweat might be worth a late 1st or 2nd.. but at this point we have to keep him for this D to produce. -

Bezos is going to be that guy on the Price is Right that comes in with a $1 over bid and gets a dirty look from the other contestants (Harris) at the end of the showcase showdown.. 6.1 billion! -
I just dont think he has shown anything close to a complete season warranting 17mil a year commitment. 20 - good, not great rookie season with 7.5sacks 21 - terrible for half a season, then hurt 22 - hurt most of the year 9 career sacks in 3 years does not warrant a 5th year option. So i 100% agree with Ron on this (for once), make him earn his paycheck and prove doubters wrong. He needs the motivation. The only reason 5th year option is even a consideration is due to his name and pedigree
-
Can you explain the 2y 28mil? if they pick up his 5th year option he plays at 17mil in 2024 and if he plays well they will have to pay him or franchise him in 25
