  1. let's hope that Juste shows well enough to take over the outside role which will allow Fuller to play nickel again and he can come close to his 2017 performance. But 10mil for part time slot CB is expensive.
  2. I think there is a misconception on how good Fuller is. Truth is the guy played largely average last year besides the 4 ints. He is a middle of the road CB in most rankings and while he does have positional flexibility he was not all that amazing at free safety when he played for the Chiefs (reason why they did not even try to resign him) At 10mil per year thats way too much. I believe the reason the team invested heavily in CBs is that they plan to move on from Fuller in the next year or so.
  3. Realistically there is very little chance WFT gets anything back for Moses unless there are several major tackle injuries late in the pre-season. We just signed an above avg LT for 5mil a year.. nobody is going to be excited about paying an avg RT 8mil per year. It still makes sense to wait it out and its even better if he doesnt show to OTAs since: 1. it will give other tackles the necessary reps 2. it will keep him healthy in case a trade does happen 3. if skins get unlucky and have a major starting tackle inj, they can slot Moses right in and pay his salary this year. 8mil is not bad for a starting tackle that already knows the playbook and can step right in.
  4. There is no point to cut Moses now... his salary is not guaranteed until first day of season. Best plan IMO is to squat on him until another team loses a tackle to inj during OTAs/ Preseason. They can always cut him prior to day one.
  5. Lucas was brought it to play RT ... they threw him to LT role last year because there were no other options.. and luckily he played ok. Looks like they want Leno at LT, Lucas at RT and Cosmi as swing backup.
  6. ProFootballTalk's Mike Floria reports Kenny Golladay wants $18.5 million per year. The Bears -- who reportedly offered the free agent wideout somewhere around $12 million -- were woefully short of Golladay's asking price. The $18.5 million is hardly an outrageous demand for an established receiver like Golladay, who remains likely to sign a short-term deal. The Ravens on Friday joined the mix of teams vying for Golladay's services in 2021. RELATED: Chicago Bears , Baltimore Ravens , New York Giants SOURCE: ProFootballTalk.com Mar 19, 2021, 12:35 PM ET One year deal for 14mil.. get it done WTF!
  7. I am not a huge fan of paying a guard 18m for one year.. but its funny how up in arms ESrs get over contracts. 1. The guard play definitely suffered when Scherff was out 2. 18m for one year is a lot, but in reality its a few mil over top 5 guard money. Its not my money so at the end of the day 3mil wont hurt our cap 3. Continuity on O-line is extremely important so if Riverra thinks that a paying a premium for one year for a great guard, leadership, other intangibles is worth it until they find a replacement, it sort of makes sense. 21 draft is deep in Oline. 4. we still have plenty of cap to sign any FA thats interested in playing here
  8. Trent coming back is a pipe dream.. he burned a lot of bridges with his behavior with the current staff and the way he nixed the Min trade just to get to the niners.
  9. I disagree... it has nothing to do with not wanting to win now. Reality is that Smith is WAY too expensive for what he is and sees himself as a starter. Reality for FO is that Smith is all but guaranteed to not be healthy for the full season.. and does not possess the game breaking ability to take this team to the next level. Esp at 24mil. That money can be better used for other parts of the team.
  10. I think its far from a given Skins sign Scherff to a LTD. while he might have skins over the barrel because they need O line help... he's also probably not finding a huge deal in FA due to reduced cap. WFT might let him shop his services to see what he gets and then offer to match the deal from another team. His health mainly removes him from top 5 guard conversation.. he wants to be paid as a top guard... eh
  11. Fuller is a stud.. problem is he is an inj prone stud. He is basically guaranteed to miss a few games at least, every year. But heck at 12mil per year.. i'd try him out. Ross has done nothing in the NFL and is also inj prone... no thanks.
  12. I think Allen is on the trade block for a QB since his contract is up soon... Settle isnt worth anything. Skins have been good at finding d lineman in the later rounds so I dont think Allen's loss will be all that impactful. Plus Niners just got a 1st for Buckner and Allen is not that far behind we should be looking at similar comp. ... and QB is a much more impactful and important position than a pass rusher... if you're in a position to get a top end qb at the expense of a pass rusher - you take it. This team has a very obvious gap in QB talent and a much smaller gap for dline/ pass-rushers. It hilarious when ESers use the "he is a captain" argument or "he's part of the new culture" for why a player cant be traded. Thats all BS... positive culture comes from winning and coaching... not from one player.
  13. If Lions said... Give us Chase Young straight up for Stafford.. do you make the trade?
  14. Stafford is a legit QB... i'd trade a 1st for him in a second. If there is any chance in hell of WTF getting him... i would be all in
  15. Fitzmagic is the best we can hope for.. and even he will get overpaid this offseason. I am ok with Allen, Fitz and Heini competing for a starting gig with each having the ability to step in and play at an avg+ level. Maybe a 2nd round QB as well depending on who drops. If Skins can sign a top flight LB and a complement at WR to Mclovin.. we have a 9-10win team with a legit top 5D and an average O
  16. Tyrod Taylor sucks for anything other than a backup role... we might as well go with Allen as starter then.
  17. I actually think Tua would be a great fit for this system here... and yes i would do it in a second for a 2nd rd pick. Not happening by the way.
  18. What happened to all his supporters who were saying "there is no such thing as a box safety"? He is terrible in space... they could have had a safety with similar skill set for 10% of what they paid him. Horrible signing
  19. umm.. sure.. Eli, Flacco and Foles were superbowl MVPs.. and again i am not talking about superbowl specifically. I am saying that QB has much more impact than any other position on the field. and can make a difference between 3 and 10 wins by himself. No other position including pass rusher can do that
  20. Thats just not the case.. yes .. one person CAN win you a Superbowl ..but its not even about the superbowl.. a QB can take an average team and make it very good. No other position can make that kind of an impact, because no other position on a football field has that level of control and influence on the rest of the players. A great defense can carry a QB but its still not one player... as good as Bosa is, that whole niner Defense was incredibly solid and healthy. (something it wast the year before) There are countless examples: Gurapolo coming to a winless Niner team and rattling off 7 straight wins. on the opposite side: Chicago is built to win now lots of talent on both sides of the ball and yet cant seem to win mostly due to the QB fine.. he led that defense.. but Manning won that superbowl.. Whatever he lacked in his arm.. he was by far the smartest player on that field and a QB is more than just tossing the ball to the open player. His adjustments at the line , tricking the D, opening up running lanes, etc is unmatched.. he is widely considered one of if not the smartest QB in the NFL
  21. correction.. blue chip QUARTERBACKS win games. while pass rushers could impact a game and could even win one or two.. most of the time teams can game plan to put them out of the game. how many superbowls have any of these guys won? Cameron Jordan, Saints. Myles Garrett, Browns. ... Calais Campbell , Jaguars. ... Demarcus Lawrence, Cowboys. ... Joey Bosa, Chargers. ... Jadeveon Clowney, Texans. ... Danielle Hunter Vikings. ... Mack Donald Von Miller
  22. Can we stop with the Foster talk.. the guy will most likely never play a down for the Skins. Its far from a given that he will even play football in 2020. LB upgrade is major need for this team so as not to waste the pressure CY will hopefully be able to bring.
